What to do with my life? I'm a first year college student who's literally been in college for one week and I've come to the realization that this college thing isn't for me. I give up, I'll try to do well this semester since it's payed for already, but won't be back for anymore.
What can I do with my life? What do the anons who didn't go to college do? How do you make a living and how much do you make doing it?
Hunter Jones
What major? Why did you use a major you didn't like?
Julian Jenkins
>Falling for the college meme
You fucked up. Unless you have a plan and need to go to college in order to get the job you want, there is literally no one point in going to college and I do not fucking understand why so many people do.
There are plenty of jobs out there that don't require meme degrees. Government jobs are the best jobs

what do you like to do what do you do best (not the same) what ar eyour goals in life
3 questiosn you have to ask
Juan Sullivan
Why would you ask this here?
What is with all these fucking questions for life help

Engineering. I'm brand new so I'm just doing generals right now. I'm reminded why I barely graduated high school, I can't fucking stand homework and studying and all that. I like engineering I just can't do the college thing.
I used to be in the military here, in the army. I'm so fucking sick of working for our worthless government. The only thing worse than the US government in general is the worthless people that work for it.
Sebastian Robinson
Because I like to get an international perspective.
Life is different in different countries and people's experiences vary.
Fuck off, why are you being rude?
Adam Price
>Fuck off, why are you being rude?
Because it's unrelated to this board and shitting it up. It's not rude to tell you to post in the correct board.
This board is for international discussion, not giving losers life advice. There's advisors, /r9k/, or /adv/ for that.
Josiah Price
>This board is for international discussion That's a fucking lie and you know it. Look at 80% of the shit threads on this terrible board. Most is shitposting spam, tfw no gf threads, and other trash.
Sup Forums is a garbage can board for trash to be posted.
Logan Young
Do a trade job or join up in a major company that deals mainly in construction so even you can do a job doing physical labor and eventually you'll get enough years in you to try and worm your way up the company
Logan Clark
So you're contributing to making it shit?
If it's such a trashcan then why ask for advice here. Just to to /adv/ or /biz/. You'll get way better advice because it's actually a board for that topic
Adrian Murphy
Sorry, didn't think you'd get your panties is such a twist. Go post in one of our awesome generals instead, since they add such quality to the board
Brody Richardson
How does that justify your thread
Why are you getting defensive over me telling you where to get better information
Ryan Lewis
you can always find a tall building and jump off
Hunter Thompson
I hope you realize you can[t do engineering without a college degree, related fields could be machinist, craftsman, mechanic, heavy equipment operator, soldering, construction, etc. Ideally you'd want to do an aprenticeship and get certified. Yu can make a decent living and better in those fields but you have to realize you won't likely have the stability of a wageslave unless you're selling your job cheap working at someone else's shop. There's exceptions yes, but it's how it tends to work out.

Well, idk about western colleges, but I had that problem. I actually love history and philology, philosophy and politics. But if you choose such a profession in Russia you would likely starve or work shitty jobs like school teacher or junior manager for all your life. So I went to mechanical engineering. First two years in uni in Russia are always hell, you study from 8:30 to 19:00 than you go home and do a homework. I had a social isolation and was extremely depressive, but I have defeated my whims. I realized that it's the only way possible to get an education which would allow me to have a job I wouldn't hate (like management for example), would maybe allow me to move to the 1st world (well, with all these right wingers rising in the West, Trump and so I am pretty fucked up but I believe they are not eternal). So I made myself to get a bachelor degree and now I have pretty stable income unlike many of my friends who finished meme unis (for example my friend who has become a translator and speaks Spanish on a native level now works as a taxi driver).
Aiden Davis
I assume you went straight to a university?
Try doing a semester of generals at a community college to ease yourself back into schooling.
Gabriel Johnson
I have similar interests to you, what were you planning on majoring in?
Josiah Morgan
Well, we don't have a thing like majoring in Russia, your educational course is strictly predefined by the uni. My branch of mechanical engineering was a manufacturing, but now I work as designer of various machine elements in a research center, because manufacturing job is full of paper work, way less creative, often more difficult and payed less. I earned 400$ writing programs for CNC machine tools, creating production processes, and ton of other shit. Now I drink tea, jerk off in a toilet, smoke, post on Sup Forums and so for a few weeks, than for a two weeks or so I have to work hard, than another laid back period for a few weeks. Really laid back job, I like it, the best choice to recover your physical and mental health after uni.
