Houston was bad in the first place, Coyle was brought in to fix it, and he didn't. Not his fault at all, and eventually they moved on. They got a tiny "new manager bump" and they are still useless after that.
No opinion on him, it was a bit naive 1. for Houston to think this holy grail manager would fix the team 2. for Coyle to think he would have some sort of impact.
It's the same merry-go-round everywhere, except in Europe you can just buy 10 players if you have the money and become a good team. I liked his stuff at Burnley and Bolton, but I did not see any of that in Houston. They are a bit of a meme, strong at home where they play in 90 degree temperature and never lose, and then miserable away.
