Name a better Album than this

Name a better Album than safe as milk or TMR

...

That is definitely unjustly overlooked in Beefheart's discography since it's actually his best album with TMR coming second (that said he has a number of great overlooked albums but this is the only one that should get at least as much love as TMR)

kek decent album but isn't in the same league.

Yeah I almost didn't even listen too it as I thought it was just commercial. glad I gave it a shot its a 10/10 for sure

Mahler - the wayfarer

Butthole Surfers Locust Abortion Technician, the residents not available, Faust 1-4, and many more

I wouldn't call most of it commercial but it was what blues rock should have been, instead it was a genre that went to shit pretty quickly

Beefheart was someone who at least respected blues while building off it, most other blues artists were just garbage that didn't capture blues at all

Mistyped, I just assumed that it was Beefheart trying to be commercial before listening too it. Gave it a listen realised I was wrong.

Yeah exactly right people aways trying to copy without adding he really did blues justice while progressing the genre.

Ill check it

Not available is fantastic not sure its better kind of peaks at ships a going down then drops down a bit. I haven't hear LAT thought I do enjoy psychic powerless.

IMO Faust doesn't quite get there. Faust self titled is the best imo but the first two tracks kinda of fall flat for me, misfortune real steals the show and is the only standout track for me.

How about Strictly Personal?

safe as milk is a parody of commercialised blues music while at the same time managing to be extremely sincere, it's a masterpiece

faust iv has their best song

good album but not even close

safe as milk is easily in my top 5 albums of all time

there only albums that I can think of that are """"better""""" are future days and maybe spiderland

Which song of IV is their best? I know its pleb but Jennifer is most memorable one for me.

Spiderland for sure. Probably my favourite album of all time but I feel like its so different too beefheart there is no point comparing them. The feeling of Spiderland and Safe as Milk are just so vastly different.

Can is just a bit too impersonal for my liking. Future days is still a good album though

jennifer is my fav faust song, too. Idk why you would say it's "pleb", besides its just a useless buzzword anyway

no fucking idea what you mean by "impersonal" tho can you explain?

its one of the more straight forward songs on the album. So Posting on Sup Forums I was guessing you'd be into a more abstract lesser coveted track. I guess nothing faust does is really pleb though haha.

By impersonal I meant it really does nothing emotionally for me, like its a bit sanitised and sterile. The instrumentation is next level but Damos vocals while sounding good aren't relatable. I can't get around the emotionless of his sining.

Compare any of future days songs to Autumn's Child, Im Glad, BC trail, good morning captain or Washer It Doesn't have the same potency and power. Not future days but even on Vitamin C are cool but just lacking that emotional resonance in my opinion.

> Damos vocals while sounding good aren't relatable. I can't get around the emotionless of his sining.

weird, for me it is the complete opposite

>Not future days but even on Vitamin C are cool but just lacking that emotional resonance in my opinion.

odd, to me vitamin c is one of their most emotional songs in terms of damos singing..

Lick My Decals Off, Baby

The all encompassing Beefheart album ranging from more simpler poppy moments to moments that make TMR look tame.

Everything above a 3/5 on rym

...

>anything by Beefheart
>good by any stretch of the imagination
good one

Childhood is idolizing TMR. Adulthood is realizing Safe As Milk makes so much more sense.
