This course is pretty cool I guess but honestly, the cross country should be a race, not a time trial.
All the horses should have to start on some mountain on the outskirts of Rio and make their own way to the finish line (the stadium) Riders have to plot their own way so the contest becomes one of navigation as well as jumping.
