who's hyped for the next one?
Peter Stormare is in it
yeah, the Bourne movies prob deserve a mention
I wouldn't put them in my ultimate kino canon, but they would be in like the acceptable runners up list
enjoying your cinco boy?
No such thing
>guys running around hitting/shooting/stabbing each other
>multiple minutes of screentime dedicated to literal sound and fury signifying nothing
>implying this is compatible with kino
the best it can be is well crafted noisy spectacle like pic related or Mad Max
tbf, being the first to properly use the shaky cam thing brings it up to kino for me
It's just that they overuse it now and it becomes a bit bland
It fills the void since my real son was stolen from a box at the dicksboro apartments
We can all agree Arnold is the end all of action films but I'm trying to think of ones besides the more sci-fi or fantasy ones (Conan, Terminator) that I would list as kino
The aesthetic/art direction is usually a little too goofy otherwise, and to me kino is about the sensory experience - being entertaining, sure - but also being awesome just as pure visual-sonic experience and having great art direction and style, even if it's lowbrow (lowbrow or highbrow doesn't matter, lowbrow genre flicks can have perfect style for what they are)
not at all memeing - Drive
>Drive
>action
Commando is great cheesy as shit fun, as is True Lies
...
I won't deny nearly all Arnold films are great fun, but I don't know if I'd call most of them kino
this one probably qualifies though. good genre fiction sometimes pulls it off if the design is definitive and inspired enough
there's gotta be more
is action just not that compelling aesthetically unless it's merged with another genre?
you'd think something as much about spectacle and violence would be more aesthetic, except it kind of aims at the kind of ordinary guys who almost define themselves as being real men who wouldn't have no faggy style, so maybe that's the reason (and so 80s action is full of bad jeans and mulletts... although, still, that doesn't matter, any style can be aesthetic)
there have to be the definitive action aesthetic movies.
London Has Fallen is one of the recent good action films tbf
It literally is just plain action with silly one liners and is even a bit """"racist""""
Any and all Negger flicks, including pic related
well, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Fury Road, John Wick, Dredd, and Kingsman are pure action movies with good cinematograhpy.
The Terminator, Conan and The Raid 2 are kinda mixed genres but are still action with good cinematography.
The 1st Expendables movie was god
I also like Casino Royal and Bourne Identity and some MI movies. I guess they're not straight up action movies though,
This.
absolutely
Holy shit I think Keanu just beat Evans in terms of basedness.
The Killer is the king of ActionKino.

First Blood
Can't remember the book but I remember reading that he gets really immersed and puts a lot of effort into become whichever character he plays. Like foregoing intoxicants for Devil's advocate and stuff, apparently he can be highly dedicated when preparing for a role and holy shit it shows here.
>drive
>get smart
You tried.
>no one mentioned Bourne yet
