An user recommended The Body - I Shall Die Here and I'm terrified, which is perfect because I'm sure that's what the album is trying to do. I like it but at first it was so...jarring.

This, obviously.
I actually showed some friends that album today but they didn't say anything about it.

Mercury Rev-Yrself Is Steam

Really good album Loveless made me think I hated Shoegays but this album is amazing.

I agree with this guy OP, stop wasting money on vinyl and just use discs and flacs

vinyl is a money grab and doesnt sound any better than mp3's

>money grab
>buying full albums in near mint condition for 1-5 dollars
lol bro. I'll admit modern releases are definitely. No way in hell I'm paying $40 for a 'audiophile grade 180g LP'. But I enjoy digging through the $1 crates at the local shops and goodwill. I've discovered many bands I wouldnt normally have this way. Recently I got Foghat's Rock and Roll album on a whim because I found the cover kind of clever, turns out it's a great album.

For the experience of digging through stolen milk crates packed with random records on the dusty floor of some random shop, I like vinyl. For the large artwork on the sleeves, I like vinyl. And assuming your set up is decent, they sound pretty damn good too.

i had an lp 120 and i threw it in the trash

Spotify has the worst masters of [insert album here] in its library. Computers are noisy listening environments, so any halfway decent playback system will pick up hum, buzzing, and other such sonic artifacts.

The best way to listen to music is:

Find the best master available on a physical format. Sometimes it's the LP version, sometimes it's the CD, SACD, DVD-A version.

In addition to that, there's shitloads of music on LP that never aw a CD release.

enjoy wasting your money on an inferior format shitlord

vinyl has its place but it is not an efficient form of physical music. CDs are the ultimate form of music as they are not only of the highest quality and format but they are also easily made digital which is very helpful in the modern world

>CD
>highest quality and format
kek

Digital flac files direct from masters are the best you can get.

>enjoy wasting your money on an inferior format shitlord

I buy the best masters, which isn't a "waste of money" once you grow up and move beyond ATH50x and Laptop speakers.

Enjoy your shitty rips from russian torrent sites. I'm not poor, so I actually have options :^)

you dont know what you're talking about i went to school for this

the russians own most of the master anyway you dont know what you're talking about

>CDs are the ultimate form of music

For 2.1, they can be if the best master exists on the format, and many times it doesn't.

For 5.1 and Multichannel, you need to step up to SACD, DVD-A, and Blu-Ray Audio. And 5.1 is the absolute shit.

Anyways, which should I listen to next, the album that really hits home for most of the people on 4chin or the only listenable progrock album ever made?

S&G.

Thanks!

>hell darkness, my old friend...
here we goooo

I have an original pressing of ITCOTCK that I bought while in Japan and I can't even listen to it because I don't have a record player.

Only time I listened to it was at the store when they let me test it and it was beautiful.

buy a record player then

UK version? I bought my copy a few days ago at goodwill... for 52 cents. It's actually the original UK, so no idea how it got to where I live... but its worth ~$40.

I may scalp it and buy a cheaper pressing of it. Not exactly my cup of tea anyways.

Yep, from the UK. No idea how it got to Japan either. I bought mine for 6,000 yen. A little expensive but it's my favorite album of all time and there was only one copy in the store so I had to get it.

They're expensive and I just spent all of my saved up money on the trip.

6k yen is what, about $50? That's pretty reasonable. $40 is a low ball on my copy because the sleeve is a bit worn in the corners. On discogs they range from $52-$367 depending on condition.

Yeah about that much.

Mine's in fairly good condition I'd say, just a little scuffed on the edges of the sleeve.

Soooooo good
