>John Stones signs to Man City for reported 50 million record breaking transfer fee

Surely one of the only examples in football history of a 35 million transfer being rejected, the player having a shit season and spending it most of it benched - replaced by the guy brought in as cover - only to then be sold the following window for a 50% higher fee.

>from the lesser merseyside club to the lesser manc club

why?

Any word or Javi Martinez to Liverpool la?

spotted in the Liverpool Nandos earlier today, deal expected in 48 hours.

>having to sign players to meet your homegrown quota

Dont get why Mourinho seemed to lose all interest in him after joining United seeing as he lead a full blown media assault to get him for Chelsea last summer.

What's the latest on the striker to Norwich situation?

Guardiola isn't a fool who relies on meaningless things like stats, form and ability. If a player fits into his system, he will sign them regardless.

...

how is that NOT a random City Staff Member with Johns face photoshopped on?

£47.6m
wat?

bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37020275

>If a player fits into his system, he will sign them regardless
So... Ability?

>42 million for 6 years

>7 million a year

hmm

>pogba confirmed
>dominos drop

I'm glad it's over, same with stones

Quick! would you rather one black ross barkley or 2 cuter phil jones

Maybe he saw how shit stones was last season and used common sense

If pogba fails I think I might explode

also how good is this stones lad?

he rocks!!!!!!!!

He's a ball playing defender, who can't defend, and isn't great at playing the ball.

Nice thread jiyongie, but maybe next time post some fucking more news or rumors

did you make this? i always see it posted but it never gets replies, just give up

world's second most expensive defender ... behind david luiz

Had a season with Everton in which he looked world class. The next season he was dog shit and dropped from the team. Why that gets you a 50% bump in your transfer valuation is anyone's guess.

He's outstanding on the ball and very good at bringing the ball out from the back, exactly how Pep likes to play.

But he's dog shit at even basic defending and regularly makes huge mistakes leading directly to goals.

He might do better playing his riskier style of play in a better team, but if he has a season anything near his last at Everton he'll be dropped and playing for Sunderland within two years.

Who do you neutrals want to fail in the league? I thought I hated United most but City is horrendous. Can't stand Liverpool either and Arsenal fans are too delusional. Maybe Chelsea is ok...

>lesser manc club
>lesser

United have academy defenders with ceilings close to/higher than Stones'. They don't need anymore young prospective defenders

Arsenal always most expensive

or needs a fucktonne of time to be good at playing the ball at least

That's the only new news dipshit.

it's always funny when arsenal fail because their fans genuinely believe they're not a mid-table club, same as liverpool

Yeah, but almost any professional player can be good with the ball, if he's given the time.

So who are Everton going to blow their wad (of cash) over?

REST OF PL ARE YOU EVEN TRYING?

But Liverpool regularly finish in midtable. Arsenal haven't finished lower than 4th in 20 years.

City should've just kept Boateng.

Hamez, £33m

yeah.. clubs started pressing him and all his passing went to shit

he made a couple great passes earlier when nobody was close to him and people went crazy

Williams from Swansea.
Rumors about Kone from Sunderland.

Long-term targets are Axel Witsel and Juan Mata.

>england's brave john stones signs for a big guy fee
>unveil is a nice down to earth chat with someone at the club

>corpogbarate french dabber signs for stupid amount of money
>unveil stretches over several weeks, the player on holiday for most of this time, he even lies to fans of his previous club. his only notable contribution to the marketing scheme is a silly dance move every now and then

hmm

Pogba is 2 stones

Trying to not blow an extortionate amount of money on overhyped English "talent"? Yes, yes we are.

Stop making shit up. He was never even revered for his passing, he was hyped because of his ability to carry the ball out from the back.

He's never been associated with good passing.

His ability to play the ball out from the back hasn't diminished, but his defensive abilities and number of catastrophic errors got worse and worse as the season went on.

I thought we had already established that United is the most disgusting club nowadays?

he was fucking awful in the premier league

I'm saying, when oppo managers realized when they should press him, he started making mistakes a lot because he didn't get endless time

jesus i nearly forgot he played there

Great business by Koeman. Stones for 30 million was pretty extreme already, 35 would be crazy much for him and pretty desperate but 50? What the fuck.

At least David Luiz is a champions league winner and kept PSG in CL against Chelsea. What the hell did Stones accomplish yet?

Are you guys looking forward to seeing Pogba do a meme dance move every time he scores for the Chevrolet Reds?

Someone in the previous thread said there's a marketing deal in place where they have to play a song over the P.A. when he scores too. One of his hip-hop buddies

"no"

Chatting shit Iceland. He excelled the most when pressed, that was his whole value. He could walk the ball around opposing players and bring it out into midfield. Getting pressed and his 'passing went to shit' is bullshit. You're passing comment on a player you know nothing about.

His errors were always defensive. Losing his marker. Terrible back passes to the keeper. Giving away retard-tier penalties.

He mostly played as RB and it's the most normal thing in the world for defenders in their early 20s to make mistakes every now and then.

Taehyun-ah, there must be something your smart little eyes can find, maybe some rumors?

For those keeping score:

United £149M
City £146M (not counting bonuses for Stones)
Juve £135M

Wow, big targets. 10th place confirmed?

because he was too weak to play cb and couldnt push jolean lescott or kolo toure out of the starting lineup

savic and nastasic were much better for city at the same age

Both are short term upgrades on Stones 2bh

When it's your turn to use the google machine at the refugee centre you can read all the obviously made up transfer rumours you like Jabbar.

>£50m for John Stones

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Pogba > 400k > 100million
Stones - 3million > 50million

Hmmm.

But Boateng obviously had more potential. It doesn't help if you're pushing for physical strength too hard/early. Just look were Boateng is now and were Natastic and Savic are.

pogba was 89m senpai

kek

United spending looks perfectly sensible compared to Juve and City for sure. The former bought a chocker close to retirement, the latter bunch of literal whos and a Spanish one hit wonder.

and then they were replaced by Otamendi and Mangala who was then replaced by Stones. City is just retarded when it comes to CBs.

I dont care what he cost. Tis madness.
Utd will lose to Bournemouth.

>Stones is the 2nd most expensive defender in transfer history.

Did Ferguson ever justify his reason for not playing Pogba? Wonder what the senile old pisshead is thinking right now.

For season ticket holder, yeah. As for per match, Brighton, Palace, Sunderland, Forest, and Saints are more expensive.

You now remember that City spent 40+ million on a CB just two seasons ago who will now be replaced by another 50 million CB.

Rebuying a player for 120m more than you sold him isn't sensible

this is pretty fun tbqh lads

youtube.com/watch?v=YoBaa57nDY8&feature=youtu.be

surely he's going to play him RB, at least at first.

he and a few other United players criticised his attitude.

Gotta burn that oil money somehow.

No.

>United spending looks perfectly sensible

at the time boateng looked like a lanky turkey

savic is doing pretty well considering the flak he got from looking a bit error prone while playing at right back, and nastasic is at >schalke

hindsight is 20/20

Mongala not named in the City CL squad

£42m down the drain, what a joke of a club

Who will be the 60m defender in two years time?

Why? He's not a RB.

There's a second part of the sentence that you quoted

>United spending looks perfectly sensible

Tyler Blackett

>Ashley Williams to sign for Everton today

walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-city-skipper-ashley-williams-1172362

Some more news for you Jabbal

Well, he did have a better starting team, so it's given that Pogba wouldn't get the minutes he wanted.
It's not like anybody could expect him to improve so much, otherwise United should've have a buy back clause.

Who gives a fuck about rebuying, that was a mistake made by guys who aren't even there now. Each transfer should be looked at individually. If dross like Stones is worth 50 and a chocker like Higuain 90, 120 for Pogba is a fucking bargain.

Well they spent over 100m on him and Sterling just to fill the English quota.

>120 for Pogba is a fucking bargain

lmao

central midfield was always fergies blind spot, he got keane and scholes came through other than that it was always the poor area in his teams

Everton signed another CB from Barnsley (same place they got Stones) and started him against United in pre-season. He was one of the best players on the pitch.

If Everton sell Stones for 50 million then replace him with an equal or better CB from their academy for nothing you've got to hand it to them for shrewd transfer business.

>we got 50m for John Stones

Oh. Oh god. I am so happy.

Hahaha

Hhahaha
HAHAHAHAHAHA

-----Carrick -- Pogba----

Haha/

Nah, he is going to get his knees fucked up playing Stoke

>The Gunners are battling Napoli for Inter Milan's Argentina striker Mauro Icardi, 23. Arsenal are willing to offer France striker Olivier Giroud, 29, plus £30m in exchange.

LOL. What's the point of getting a striker by getting rid of a striker? The problem is Arsenal only have one 'decent' striker, not that they don't have one.

Fuck sake.

>It's not like anybody could expect him to improve so much

the guy that they got into a huge legal battle over? and risked a transfer ban from fifa?

Kone is a much better defender than Stones. It would be a great transfer

Remember when he played there when he started at Everton? Wasn't bad and he's be less of a defensive liability there.

Or maybe Guadiola would organize his defense better and he'll start with Ota.

Stones wasn't the only shit defender at everton last season.

Yeah and it's just as fucking stupid. It isn't sensible at all you fucking retard.

there isnt a more world class midfield pairing if i ever saw one

Holy shit.... based City....

This is the signing of the summer, a bargain price for potentially the best ball playing centre back in the world today.

Pep will mold him into the best centre back, BAR NONE.

Lol Arsenal. Sorry m8, you are singing no one.
Enjoy you're Walcott at centre back.

Sensible IN COMPARISON you utter mong!

why is stones so hyped? because hes british? he is painfully average. real value is like 10 millions
