So, Nolan has started shooting Dunkirk. Cinematography - Hoyte van Hoytema(interstellar, her, spectre) cast - Fionn Whitehead Tom Hardy Kenneth Branagh Mark Rylance Jack Lowden Aneurin Barnard Harry Styles Cillian Murphy James D'Arcy Barry Keoghan Tom Glynn-Carney
Hyped? will this be the best movie of 2017 and blow away the capeshit?
Also, can somebody explain to me why Nolan and Tarantino are obsessed with imax?
Grayson Smith
>Nolan >Tom Hardy >Tom Hardy's character gets captured by Germans >"Vas gettink kort part of your plan Tommy?" I hope Nolan does this right
Angel Barnes
Because they're average at best and ate up the IMAX meme.
Camden Rodriguez
I gave him a war movie, not a Hallmark remembrance like SPR.
Jack Edwards
>failed to capture/kill 350k crucial important soldiers >we won
Colton Collins
Any info on ratings? Nolan isn't gunna pussy out an go PG-13 is he?
Jaxon Campbell
>what's a tactical victory
Alexander Garcia
Atonement already did this
Plus it had saoirse before she became a fat irish cow and benedict cumberbotch as a rapist
Juan Collins
They think they are being technologically advanced by clinging to large-format film instead of just shooting 8K or whatever on a camera a tenth the size.
Brandon Jones
I thought I was the only person who enjoyed that film
Henry Nguyen
I don't think he will go for R-rating. It will be pg-13 most probably.
Isaac Murphy
Miś Wojtek movie when ?
Christopher Smith
you should be in school kid.
Kayden Williams
film will always be the true kino. digital is for plebs.
nolan is one of the few keeping what remains of kodak alive, and just for that, hes a fucking hero to me.
Michael Wood
Digital is technically superior to film in every way. This is objective fact. I like both formats, but there is no denying it. The best digital cine cameras have better light sensitivity and dynamic range. And they can make it basically any resolution they want. Human eye really can't see any difference past about 6K anyway, even on a big screen.
If a Red Epic was available in the mid-twentieth century, literally none of the classic directors would have used film.
Wyatt Lewis
So you only watch a few movies per year? Cuz like 99% of movies are digital now.
Brandon Howard
>mfw bomber Harris choreographed some of the most beautiful slaughter of subhuman Kraut men, women and children the world has ever seen
Ryan Moore
>Spectre
nice
Henry Moore
You are aware that 96% of everything that's been shat out by studios these days is generic forgettable shit, right?
Xavier Kelly
4% is a lot of movies.
Also, don't fucking lie. You watch all that shit, and you know it.
Cooper Roberts
that poster looks surprisingly bad, you only need to look at any of those ships for a few seconds to realize they're superimposed
Nolan Ward
>All male cast >No muh dead wife meme
Hold me Sup Forums
Ryan Lewis
Is his brother involved in writing? If not, then hyped.
Dylan Edwards
Oh shit. That's a good crew.
Hudson Collins
Posters are fan made. By the fans of Harry.
Jonathan Lopez
fuck
Josiah Jenkins
>written, co-produced and directed by Christopher Nolan.
Ryan Lewis
aw fuck that's right that's the one direction guy what a childish addition can he act at least?
Dominic Gutierrez
apparently he blowed everyone away on the audition. don't judge until you see
Adam Richardson
There doesn't seem to be any major womyn or coloured diversity quota characters.
One faggot is okay, i guess.
Ian Cook
Could have been the end for not just France, but the UK, too. Would have been a slaughter of an entire army. Instead, they got most of them out. Lost a lot of good equipment though.
Benjamin Bell
>this is going to be another anglo propaganda despite the french doing all the work.
Hunter Jones
...
Luis Cruz
not grey enough
Adrian Turner
1. Hitler let them leave.
2. It would be a good movie.
3. Nolan is not even hiding his desire to outdo Spielberg in all genres one by one.
Brandon Jenkins
>his name is literally Bomber >and he commands Britain's entire bomber force
Good thing he was stubborn about carpet bombing, too. British bombers were worthless with precision bombing, and once the Anericans starting doing it, the British could focus on carpet bombing cities, pleasing everyone (except the Germans)
Wyatt Wright
Why Nolan is not secretive this time while shooting?
Jaxon Brooks
...
Christian Morales
>harry styles
Gabriel Hall
>no Aidan Gillen shit
Grayson Carter
because everyone knows already how it all ends?
Brayden Walker
that's some top bantz
Cameron Fisher
His fans are gonna make this film insufferable
Carter Rogers
what twist is this movie gonna have Sup Forums?
Jonathan Young
>he blowed everyone I bet he did
Brayden Watson
All a simulation in the future
Easton Gomez

Robert Ross

John Price
>not underestimating the eternal Jew >still underestimating the eternal Anglo
If only Hitler had been more redpilled.
Kayden Peterson
Awesome A EU director with EU cast. No Americans changing Canadians, Brits and French etc. into American's to make it seem like they were part of a war they were barely in.
Austin Brooks
...
Luke Sanders
Agreed 100%. Add to that his hatred for CGI that is even bigger than my own and you know why he will always be one of the top directors for me.
Bullshit. Then why does all the actor look like they have the late stages of bleeder's disease and are walking through syrup att the same time. Because digital is a cheap sellout format for poor hipsters that's why.
Zachary Bailey
He's probably going for a made in the 40's look. Truly a master auteur
Jordan Russell
what?
why
Henry Fisher
>Tactical victory >Dunkirk >When you can just capture/crush the entire British Expeditionary Force on Europe if you actually do your fucking job. >Instead the pansy coward Von Kluge says "We stop here guize no problem hue hue"
Luis Rodriguez
...
Austin Bell
is there going to be a sci fi twist?
Parker Harris
>Kenneth Branagh >Mark Rylance
Henry Evans
meh. shooting has just started 1 or 2 weeks ago.
Elijah Sanchez
Was getting caught part of their plan?
Connor Garcia
Nolan needs to take a breather and make something smaller. He just keeps one upping himself with bigger and bigger movies.
Dunkirk may not sound as grand and big as a movie like Interstellar, but I am sure he will try to show an even bigger scale of action with troops and battles with a million boats swarming the beach all in one scene.
I admire his ambition and the man has good ideas, but he has too many ideas he wants to execute at once. If he only focused on one main idea and followed it through I believe that work out on every level. Still looking forward to it tho
Evan Thompson
>>his name is literally Bomber kek
Logan Martin
what? he's going to cel-shade this?
Gabriel Bailey
What a beauty
Angel Cook
...
Ian Martin
...
William Flores
I went out to crush Kubrick's 2001 Now he's after Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan Who will be next?
Noah Smith
I think he went*
Aiden Russell
Either the Godfather or Apocalypse Now
Kayden Ramirez
Please tell you didn't forget Dicaprio and that he's actually not in movie
Samuel Cruz
>All british cast Thank you ,based Nolan
Christian Ross
>DiCaprio cameos as a hardass American general who gets on the horn to tell the dumb Brits to get the hell out of Dodge >the story takes place before America had even entered the war
Carson Myers
Mads Mikkelsen as the main german officer villain would be cool maybe or not I don't know a bit drunk rn
Juan Martin
Would love to see a Bond movie by him.
Dicaprio may have a cameo in this. who knows.
While soldiers are being rescued, he would pass by on his yacht, full with supermodels and throwing money at tired soldiers.
