A weekend of feeding hungry kids overseas for a week should help her feel better for all of the irresponsible things she had done in her younger days. Her actions are fueled by a selfish desire to make personal "wrongs", "right".
Now she can go home and brag about the kind things she has done... for a week... but she'll tell the stories for her entire lifetime. Long after those kids finally perish from malnutrition and a lack of vital resources. She will be fine.

You'd think she could have spent that tattoo money, the travel fare, etc... on helping feed hungry kids in our own country... but somehow those TV ads make people feel as though starving people in other countries are hungrier than starving people at home.
