Why can't he use it?
Why does he think drawing by hands is better?
Why does he hate CGI so much?

he has used it, in Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away.
he doesn't rely on it and over used it.
same reason he hates america
Drawing by hand is better.
CGI is like that art student who resorted to cameras when he realized he couldn't draw
>Why does he think drawing by hands is better?
because it is
Is based hater of weeabos the only anime shit allowed here?
Hand drawn animation is better.
why do you think Disney is shit now
computers always take passion away
CGI is for assholes
CGI ruins everything
It made me drop Yurikuma, despite being a gigantic Ikuhara fanboy that has Penguindrum and Utena on bluray
Hand drawn animation is good, and cgi animation is good, but they don't go well together. Watch fantasia and fantasia 2000, the original looks so much better because of the lack of cgi. As a result everything meshes better.
Autistic kids that "hate cgi" dont realize how much vfx they enjoy without noticing.
>THAT 20000 FOOT TALL MONSTER IS FAKE!! FUCKING FAKE!!!
its just autism really.
Takahata used CGI for this whole movie and you all got goofed
He also ruined Ghibli's finances so bad that they'll never do a movie alone again tho.
inb4 webms of "good modern anime animation" that are rotoscoped cgi crap
it should
Nobody like america
Op here. See this is the part I don't get it.
From what I read the old man not only hate 2D CGI but also hate 3D CGI
But why??? 3D CGI is great for drawing airplanes
Every movie since Mononoke he's used Cgi in certain scenes to enhance the animation.
The earthquake in the wind rises and when Sen walks through the flowers in Spirited away are two Cgi enhanced scenes that spring to mind.
He just uses it as a tool rather than a medium
Anime was a mistake
>3D CGI is great for drawing airplanes
you know what, you've convinced me
because he's a top bloke
Uh, ok then I rephrase my question:
Why doesn't he want to try to use CGI as a medium and make a fully CGI or even a 3D CGI movie?
Are you retarded?
“I think talent decides everything,” Miyazaki said. “More than the method, what’s important is the talent using it. There’s nothing inherently wrong or right about a method, whether it be pencil drawings or 3-D CG.”

Why didn't he use it earlier?
And I think he did say in somewhere "I am going to be the last generation who do animation with pencils"
>Why didn't he use it earlier?
probably thought it wasn't yet good enough. Japan just discovered cell-shading, look at Oshii CGI, its awful.
Anime was a mistake
are you a sixteen year old
because it loojs like iy you retard
Go watch something like rwby and then compare it to something hand drawn and tell me that CGI is better.
But he neve said that he hates CGI, he's even going to do a short cgi film for the ghibli museum you baiting retard.
Because watch this.
Nowadays anime looks crap.(mostly)
>Watched that the other day
>Enjoying the movie a lot
>Suddenly rape scene
What the fuck Japan
because japanese cgi looks like shit
What is this?
>one minute just to watch a rocket fly
jesus what a bore
(You)
>title

Sup Forums has ruined your attention span.
Feet
I am being serious what's the fucking point, it could have been way shorter
CAN always ages badly. Go watch the original Toy Story vs Fantasia
>just rotoscoped rocket pictures
>gif tier fire
>particle overlays
>smoke obviously drawn backwards so it looks weird
only good thing is the cables
It's not about showing something, it's about how you are showing something.
Wings of Honneamise
even if you judge this scene out of context (which would be retarded), you should know that it is supposed to be more than just getting the information accross that the rocket started
a cute little laymen opinion.
edgy
Because he's simply right
Because he's a dumb pedo
Kon is acceptable as well.
Thats just how they say "hello" in grorious nippon.
You would understand why is so important if you watched the movie.
No, every anime shit should be a bannable offense.

What people sometimes don't realize is that limitations are sometimes the key to innovation. When you work under a budget or without CGI you're force to creatively tackle the resultant problems that will arise. This can lead to a variety of different techniques, styles, or changes of action and scene.
CGI nowadays is pretty damn great, but when you rely on the limitations of practical effects it allows you to reframe a scene in such a way that differentiates it significantly. Sure you can't do certain things in precisely the way you want, but the payoff of helping to cultivate creative problem solving is useful.

>Netflix keep me recommending Sidonia
>Was bored so decided to give it a try
>Couldn't last 10 minutes due to those awful cgi characters
What were they thinking, the mecha and action seqeuences look decent enough, but the characters are choppy and uncanny as fuck.
>Why does he think drawing by hands is better?
Because it is.
he's a dumb weeb they don't think rationally
...
how did he do it?
>he
Future times, surprising times.
>looks guys I know animation buzzwords too!
only thing you're right about is they rotoscoped a NASA launch. You can fuck off otherwise.
