2 days ago I was listening to music with headphones at such a loud volume (for about 8 minutes). I was an idiot who was pissed off and put it so loud (metal music) and after that now when I lie down I have a constant loud whooshing/hissing sound in my ears.
I can hardly sleep. I guess it is tinnitus. Its got me heaps more stressed and depressed and idk how I can cope with it if I am stuck with this forever now.
You know what I think about when I think of ringing ears? Shooting guns. I think you know where this is going OP

Ethan Barnes
Yeah on my 100 dog biscuits headphones on full blast I got a tinnitus
Andrew Richardson
I saw a documentary of a woman that had severe tinnitus for years, it was like static buzz that would never go away, she was a mom, and she eventually opted in for assisted suicide, she got euthanized.
GL bro, sucks that in this world, one little mistake can ruin the rest of your life.
over long periods of repeated exposure maybe.... but dude.... c'mon... kiss science and worry about deeper shit
Angel Thompson
If it was only 8 minutes the damage shouldn't be too bad but OP is still a retard with anger managment issues
Jonathan Anderson
I had a similar problem when I got hit in a fight
you probably had your eardrums damaged you should really go see a doctor and do an endoscopy to see how bad it is and get a proper treatment
if it's only loud music that put you in your current conditon it should be quite mendable it'll prolly take few weeks to heal tho
Carter Allen
stop judging bitch... you had angry moments in life where tou needed loud music too... ya judgemental hypocritical fart puff
Lincoln Anderson
>current year >(anything)
Get fucked you queer.
OP my ears are garbage from growing up at my dad's band's gigs, playing drums for 17 years, attending hundreds of concerts, and working at a shotgun range. Piss off you whiny shit. I need captions to watch a movie properly, accept your hearing loss and be a man.
Daniel Collins
i have a high pitch ringing noise constantly for years now you can take your mind off it so it's not that bad. you'll get used to it OP at least your ears still work a bit
Jackson Allen

Did you even read his fucking hilarious post you fucking piece of shit? That was a goshdarn hilarious comment and you just ignored it like the worthless turd you are. I hope you fucking drown in a pool of acid and don't fall into shock so you feel every drop, literally, I hope you die.

Tyler Brooks
Hearing stories of people overreacting and making bad decisions they regret is like candy to me. By any chance are you broke because your child support payments are eating you alive? Was that why you were angry? Please tell me that was why you were angry..... hhhhhhnnnnnngggggghhhhhhhh!!!!
Kevin Davis
Suck my cock you piece of shit, your edgy little comment is garbage. Get fucked and achieve AIDS status. I did read his fucking comment, 8 minutes of metal isn't shit. Real hearing loss and damage is nothing compared to his. I'm not complaining and I'll need hearing aids by the time I'm mid 40's. Who gives a shit, this body is just temporary.
Xavier Watson
focus your pain on something else and it will take away the ringing in your ears try punching yourself in the dick or stabbing your thigh or forget it all and kill yourself
Liam Scott
you just live with it and eventually you become used to it. try to ignore it
Dylan Murphy
>Who gives a shit, this body is just temporary. What does this even mean. Yeah a temporary body that you can never enjoy again before you fall into the inevitable death (not being able to enjoy ur life anymore due to this constant loud sound in ur ears finding no peace)
Joshua Parker
>try to ignore it I can't at all when I want to sleep cos it is so loud when everything is quiet... i can't ignore
Jeremiah Davis
I got tinnitus years ago after trying to drone out the mutterings of this christfag speaking at a convention i was forced to sit through. It'll always be there but you'll get used to it. Occasionally it would come back and annoy the fuck out of me but it isnt something to whine over. You fucked up OP, live with the consequences.
Landon Smith
i sleep in a really loud room as it is so i can't help you with that
Jordan Bell
What were you listening to
Jeremiah Lee
...
Jaxson Anderson
As for trying to sleep, yeah that'll be a bitch for a week or so until you adjust.
David Garcia
I work in a factory, and if I don't wear ear protection I'd go def after one shift. Dude, if it doesn't go away after a day or two, go grab some good ear plugs, shove em in your ears (make sure they go into the ear canal) lie down, block out any light and to be sure wear over ear headphones or ear muffs. Do that for about a half hour for a week. Heal up in no time. You might hallucinate a bit, but it's a good therapy to clear your head anyways.
If that doesn't work, you fucked up your ears user, see a doctor.
Levi Rogers
Most of the people in this thread have no idea what they're talking about...
I have Tinnitus. I got it from listening too loudly on the headphones. It doesn't matter if it's for 5 minutes or 5 hours, your ear drums can get damaged very easily and instantaneously.
First, go visit your local clinic and they should recommend you a specialist to do a proper exam. Depending on where you live, this can be very expensive though. Ideally, you will want to know your Tinnitus level.
They will also offer you therapy, but unless you're feeling suicidal and can't move on with your life, I don't suggest you go for it (it costed around 2000$ for me and didn't really help that much). The therapy is basically listening to a static sound for ~15 minutes twice a day. This sound is also customized to your Tinnitus so don't bother trying to find something on the Internet.
The objective is to trick your brain into thinking that the static sound is absolutely normal so that you will eventually ignore it.
Otherwise, the only "cure" that exists is to live with it. It is EXTREMELY scary and stressful at first (especially since you CAN damage your ear drums even more), but if you're tough mentally, you will eventually get over it, ignore it and live a normal life.
If it bothers you a lot at night when going to sleep, you can also buy noise cancelling type machines (or even just a fan) to drown out the noise.
Good luck and I'll be in this thread if you have questions.
John Jones
well your body is used to it whilst mine isn't and has always slept in a real silent room
Carson Lewis
Bragging about doing a stupid thing is even worse than complaining about doing a stupid thing. Not that I care. It's not like this comment is going to turn you into a productive member of society.
Charles Butler
Kill yourself nigger. If im pissed I just shitpost on Sup Forums or kill niggers on csgo, not fuck my body up
Joshua Thompson
I give you a useful advice and you reply to shittards who want to see you suffer instead?
not even a little courtesy (You)?
well, fuck you, you deserve what happened to you, ungrateful bitch
Juan Brown
the hell I am not paying 2 grand for them to give me some white noise to listen to
Eli Lewis
>it'll prolly take few weeks to heal tho but how is something like this supposed to heal. i doubt it
Ryder Mitchell
>being so angry you didn't get a (you) are you actually serious?
Noah Turner
The first thing they do is give you a survey to fill out to see your mental health levels. If you feel suicidal because of the noise, the therapy is highly recommended. In EXTREME cases, brain surgery is also an option, but it's only in rare cases.
If you think you can handle the noise, just live with it, it's the safest and cheapest option.
Also for , there's a the type of noise that comes after going to a concert and hearing buzzing for a couple of days. Then there's the type that stays permanently your entire life...that's Tinnitus.
Also time will tell which case it is.
Jordan Cook
>Good luck and I'll be in this thread if you have questions. he won't you'll get ignored for posting useful shit just like I did he prefers focusing on shitposts don't bother wasting your time here, it's quite futile
Robert Thomas
nice quads faggot
Robert Foster
don't all people have tints to some extent that you only notice when you think about it
Jack Davis
reread my post it's not really about getting a (you) but you need to be a careful reader to realize that
Gavin Williams
>Also time will tell which case it is. So it has been 2 days. How much longer do I wait to see if this ever goes away or slightly improves?
Dylan Wood
yeah this is probably a 1% of hearing loss whilst constant tinnitus is when real damage has occured
Christopher Hill
Tough to say, a week maybe? I've never heard of anyone that has a temporary buzzing for more then 2 weeks though.
Nathaniel Wilson
because last night I swear it got a bit better for like 5 minutes and then came back heavier when I woke up...
so idk what this means
Kevin Gomez
Place the palms of your hands over your ears with fingers resting gently on the back of your head. Your middle fingers should point toward one another just above the base of your skull. Place your index fingers on top of you middle fingers and snap them (the index fingers) onto the skull making a loud, drumming noise. Repeat 40-50 times. Some people experience immediate relief with this method. Repeat several times a day for as long as necessary to reduce tinnitus.
Thank me later.
Brandon Smith
first off, are you a doctor? if not, what made you feel competent enough to make such a diagnosis? internet?
you should stop being a little bitch and quit panicking go see a doctor instead, then see what your next step is
be a bit more optimistic, it's probably nothing as serious as a tinnitus
I had a similar experience and was naturally scared as shit at first, but then I went to see a doctor and it turned to be not that big of a deal
Isaiah Murphy
holy
BODY HAX
not op , but it worked in one ear
Ryder Reed
The more you think about it, the more you will hear it. Hence the whole white noise therapy technique. I rarely hear my Tinnitus nowadays, but if I focus, I can hear it even during a normal conversation with someone.
Wait a week or so and see what happens.
Also never follow advice like Ask a doctor or a specialist on Tinnitus instead (audiologists, etc).
smoke some weed it will take care of that tinnitus
Henry Murphy
Common causes of tinnitus (and headaches/migraines) are due to tight, painful suboccipital muscles. These muscles are basically always on because they are working along with the muscles of the neck to keep our heads upright against gravity. In recent years, these muscles are getting taxed more and more as humans spend the majority of their time in front of a computer at work and adjusting constantly to look at a tablet or phone when at home at night. Muscles that are always contracted are short & painful. This is the source of pain for a lot of people who have tinnitus or headaches. Muscles that are overstretched are long and weak.
Tapping a muscle belly or tendon quickly is a good way to facilitate the muscle to contract. This happens when you go to the doctor and your reflexes get tested. Continual tapping or constant pressure provide the opposite effect: they overload the muscle, causing it to burn up all of it's electrolytes and ATP and other resources it needs to activate and contract on a regular basis. When muscle cells get depleted, they turn off and once enough cells turn off, the muscle as a whole relaxes and you feel instant pain relief.
Look up trigger point therapy and myofascial release which are some techniques to use constant pressure at common locations of tightness (including the suboccipital muscles are the base of the skill) to reduce muscle tension for headache relief.
TL;dr - Constant tapping turns off the overworked muscles at the base of your skull that are a common source of pain for people with tinnitus and headaches.

sound like eastern medicine
also, this explains why it picks up when i have an all nighter around hour 27 or so
Levi Murphy
I have bad tinnitus from the military...I have a large fan in my bedroom set on high to help me sleep. It's the only thing that's able to block out noise but not distract me. It sucks when I forget to bring a fan when staying at a hotel...I get a constant high pitch ringing sound at all times (like when a tv is on mute in other room...you can still hear that high pitched frequency). It sucks but oh well.
Zachary Davis
>I get a constant high pitch ringing sound at all times but for me it is like a loud whoosing.
idk if that is tinnitus but is what I hear, not that ringing noise in the ears
Jason Rogers
I'm not denying it can help in some cases. But why the fuck would you take medical advice and treatments from Sup Forums? Again, a clinical doctor or specialist will give OP a much better answer for his specific case.
Samuel Murphy
LOL at eastern medicine.
Jose Ward
It's just tapping on your fucking skull man. And it was actually an advice from a doctor (Dr. Jan Strydom).
Mason Jones
