He's one of the more memorable members of Wu Tang just for his eccentric personality and brash behaviour. To be honest though, he was a major scumbag, there's too many stories about him flying around but I suppose that's what makes him the legend he is.

My favourite ODB story is him claiming child welfare for like 300 dollars even though he'd just been payed an almost 50 thousand cheque from his record company because he'd not yet filed taxes on it kek

the album is god-tier mainly down the production
arguably RZA's best work, perfectly captures the universe ODB lives in, raw, cold, alien, cartoonish yet sinister, unstable
the tracks are schizophrenic themselves, breaking down into bizzare non-sequiturs, playing the same verse backwards because odb probably couldn't be bothered to write another one, odb audibly orgasmic or fuck even that one track that samples previous tracks from the album

the only thing that's come close that i've heard is atrocity exhibition

in other words,

RZA once again produces a fucking great album and ODB is the Bizarre of Wutang and RZA manages to pile together and pick out a bunch of half decent raps to make a listenable album.

He's actually good. He started out as a Memphis derivative, but he experimented with production quite a bit. His tapes are stuff he threw out, but you see his process and how much different stuff he tries. Third side has at least 10 genres on it.
Oblivion Access is pretty rough, more industrial, more accessible if you're familiar with his other stuff.

I've never understood why people like 36 Chambers so much. The flows are good but half of the beats are really terrible. I actually prefer ODB.
