2017 music thread

How you guys feel about the new Lupe and Flaming Lips? I thought they were both kind of derivative except for Made in the USA from Lupe, also

Keeping my own thread living

links for either??

Flaming Lips have always been hit or miss but the new single is terrible.

It's new music Friday. Has anyone heard anything? I just finished the new Dropkick Murphy's

When did new music start getting released on Fridays? It used to be Tuesdays

About a year ago maybe two

Agree, v boring

Anyone heard You Me At Six? That's next up for me.

I wasn't even referring to this Flaming Lips song

I was referring to the song they released today with Miley Cyrus. It's really fucking bad.

Link?

Wow, yeah that was pretty bad.

Is Wayne Coyne ploughing that Miley ass? What's his obsession with this slut??

I think this is pretty easily the best song released from the album so far

You Me At Six isn't horrible so far. I'm kinda getting into it.

That's pretty bad.

What's so awful about it?

Excited for new Why?

Next album up for me that came out today:

Cabbage - Young, Dumb, and Full of...

I agree that it's probably the best so far but that doesn't say much, it's a pretty derivative track and nothing new for Flaming Lips, even a little lacking in production. It's written alright, but it's just classic Flaming Lips applying their already - established sound to a sort of more electronic, more soft rock style

Cabbage is pretty awesome so far

Very Johnny Lydon

Yeah, listening to Cabbage rn and it's pretty great. Would this be considered post punk? Because it's harder than most of the genre that I have heard, which I like a lot.

Feelsbadman

that Flaming Lips song was trash.

Yeah the first song has a lot of post punk elements. I'm on the third song now and it's much more rock. 4th song is starting off cowpunk

Yeah, just got through that song and not really sure what to think. Never heard of cowpunk before, but seems pretty fitting. I like the political statement but the begining of the song I didn't really like, the rest of album has been better so far imo

I'm enjoying the album well enough but extremely disturbed by their political message. I really hope they tone it down for future releases.

Is this really true? Is he really not gonna release his proposed albums for this year or anything else? Maybe he will change his mind

>alt right copy pasta

Finishing Cabbage now. It was ok

Up next that came out today:

Sundara Karma - Youth Is Only Fun In Retrospect
