What's up with Rhett and Link?
They seem to be more and more mentally damaged with time.
What's up with Rhett and Link?
They seem to be more and more mentally damaged with time.
PS. I'm not helping.
Maybe Link's haircut and Rhett's beard were the only things keeping them sane
Illuminati confirmed.
kek
bump plz
Stopped watching it since it became a fucking children's show. Never looked back, I can only imagine how shit it must be right now. Same with Vsauce.
Are they broken?
They live and work in LA. Thats not good for a person.
When was it any different?
I always thought of their sketches as a poor man's version of Jake and Amir.
Was there ever any real merit in watching them?
Were they smart in the beginning?
I figured.
It's the cocaine
Why?
What's up with LA? Not from the States btw.
And same with game theory
Well, that was a long time ago, I'd say 2008, maybe? I'm not sure at all, it started going to shit around the same time that mitch days, or whatever the fuck he's called, started getting big. Their show used to be cool back then. That or I was too young to notice how shit it was.
I only watch the taste test/will it ones, because the more moronic they are, the better the reactions.
smog and fake people?
Well, I disagree on Rhett and Link's show becoming more and more for kids.
If anything, it's pretty opposite
but not to an extremity.
Unless innuendos are child's play in your opinion.
I was asking a similar question about jontron.
It seems more like this guy knows how to play his audience in his favor, but I have to agree nonetheless. The amount of sponsored content he's putting up is just too much for it to be bearable anymore.
You say that as if it should be obvious to me.
A lot of these people have been doing it for years and years, but the money is too good to stop. That description should explain most big youtubers these days.
I mean, they've gone from guys/gals on a webcam, to semi-professional productions with staff and shit.
Why is it that Youtubers become only worse with an increasing budget?
It's not even that I hate Jontron. His last video was hilarious. But the show certainly lost some of it's charm.
He's gotten pretty... tired hasn't he? He's hanging out with Filthy Frank and Ethan, and as cool as those guys are, they don't suit his humor very well.
Jontron right now feels really lost. Like he wants to be something more than a couch game reviewer but doesn't know where to go from here.
I think he wants to quit.
i know MatTwat is so fucking cringey nowadays i swear there's 50 seconds of theory and like 15 minutes of him being an annoying cunt
I loved when Arin and Jon were pals. Their humor complimented pretty well but I always felt this vibe of jealousy from Arin, idk. He just sits around and plays games these days. His art had potential way back when.
Jon now is pretty different than a few years back. Maybe its because he's maturing or getting away from lolsorandom arin humor idk
>I think he wants to quit.
What even makes you think that?
That would be completely counter-intuitive.
He has been raising his budget continuously. Better equipment, a staff, commercial deals. It's not like you can liquidize this sorta stuff in an instant.
If he really wanted to quit, we wouldn't keep pumping that much money into his productions.
I find it hard to become a fan of youtubers now..
Because as humans they, too, have problems of their own.
Like any other person, but with a fanbase of people who crave their help or attention added.
Think about it.
OLD JONTRON WAS BETER
To their fanbase, they're like Gods.
All perfect.
>The innuedos are real
I'm not saying we wants to lose his money, that's not what I said.
I think he's lost his desire to do what he used to do. He must be maturing. He was younger back then and he could impress people with his random, loud humor but now he has to take on the role of an adult. This is all me bullshitting but you can tell there's a real difference in his stuff.
Because they're not doing it for the show anymore. They're doing it for the thing they've become (and money). At some point they got "famous" (million+ views a video) for a certain thing, and now they're stuck doing that thing over and over wether they want to or not.
That's the thing though. I think most of these big youtubers WANT to quit, but "can't". They hit it big with one thing, and then they stopped innovating because whenever they tried people would throw a coin and go "Do the thing! Do the thing!", so unless they make a new image (second channel with a new face), they can't do anything drastically different.
This is my biggest problem with youtube celebrities. it's a fucking cult of personality that rivals fucking North Korea.
Fans will vehmently defend their idols against any and all criticism and even proudly call themselves part of the 'insert jackass here'-army.
It's so fucking ridiculous.
I think it is because they come to occupy a weird middle ground where they lose their low budget DIY charm but have not obtained the polish of a truly professional high budget production.
Well that may be true for some, but not Jontron.
His productions look fucking amazing from a technical standpoint. Perfect video and audio quality, professional editing and makeup.
It's mot that I think they occupy some middle ground between amateur and professional, but they somehow lose their comedic edge or whatever.
That's exactly correct. But I think Jon may be experimenting. The whole Grimbo thing and the nasty humor with spit and weird puppets is just.. disgusting, but he's gotta try new stuff.
For me, StarCade was boring as hell. The production was 10000% but his jokes, his enthusiasm, that Jontron feeling is all gone. He just stands there with his eyes half open with a big grin on his face now, and unenthusiastically makes lame puns with that "ironic" same pitch change in his voice.
I agree with you about the polish his videos have but I feel in Jon's case the polish and professionalism actually detract from the charm of his videos rather than compliment or add to it. What made him cool to me was the "I am a regular dude doing these funny videos by myself in my living room" angle he had going. The set and crew kill that for me.
>this shitty thread
>Watching that faggot
I think that's what he's trying to get away from.
Game Grumps.
He left Game Grumps so that he could pursue more than being a "regular dude doing these funny videos in my living room"
Sadly this might be what Jon wants.
>This shitty board
Silly voices, and "fart jokes" need context in order to be amusing. These two go too far over the top, and it kills any enjoyment from watching whatever it is they are trying to communicate.
The theme of their shows used to be interesting, not them personally. The show became all about them, and significantly less about the content.
That's probably the best explanation behind why I think it's garbage now, but I never really stopped to think about it, I just stopped watching. Same with tobuscus, and the same goes with a lot of other youtubers who used to be amusing.
You stop watching because new shows bring in something they don't have, and the stagnating silly humor, which they are so heavily reliant on, doesn't help their case.
>haha memes
>haha cancer whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
>inject the memes amiright lol I'm so fahny
>IrOnY wOoOoOo
They just dumb down their show for their audience. The typical fan is like 10.
Plus,
they do have a Tumblr (these wounds will not heal) following of kids over at that site.
You are so autistic that you made that gif from a video that came out less than two hours ago

A lot of popular youtubers have a fanbase composed of probably ~50% kids. Kids do that kind of thing a lot- spaz the fuck out over things that they like that are popular, because they are mentally incapable of forming individual opinions on anything, and just hop on the bandwagon. They're also a lot more vocal, and post every single thing that comes to their mind because they don't realize the world doesn't give a fuck if they were eating cereal AT THE SAME TIME THE YOUTUBER WAS EATING CEREAL LIKE HOLY FUCK WHAT A COINCIDENCE JSHFKEHSJAK.
Hence the cancerous comment sections on most popular youtube channels.
I believe you are right about that, and more power to him. It just isn't my cup of tea anymore. I still watch most of them but it is when I get around to it or am really bored. I used to look forward to his new stuff.
I've watched probably a weeks worth of hours of his Game Grumps, and every Jontron he's ever made. Even the ones he deleted for whatever reason. I've been a fan of him since I found out about him through Arin, who I followed on Newgrounds.
It really sucks to see good things die. His latest episode was kinda funny. Not the same but humorous at points. I guess its time to find better things.
Arin stopped animating and Jon stopped being funny. Next thing you know, Filthy Frank will start taking himself seriously and start releasing cringy rap music.
