I personally believe that it is irrational to believe in a deity, when there is absolutely no evidence pointing towards such a thing existing.

Until there is sufficient evidence that a deity exists, I do not see why anyone should believe in one.

The reason I hate religion is because it makes people lazy; it gives people false answers and tells them not to think critically about those answers. It also gets in the way of scientific progress very often.

Another point I would like to address is that even if we find evidence that a god exists, we still need to know whether that god wants us to worship it or not. We also need evidence that that god is all-powerful and all-knowing, as many religions describes Him. We also need to know whether that god even knows that we exist or not; maybe it doesn't care about us.

Religion makes too many assumptions without basing any of them on evidence.

Science and reason should be our source of decision-making, not potentially false stories that often cause people to behave radically.
