I'll try it out then.
The new album is a step in the right direction again. The production is very Xenon-like, with some more cleverly written songwriting than Progenitor.
I'd say it's worth checking out if you liked any of their recent material.

I think you don't know what you're talking about. Hipsters can be snobby and pretentious but they are not the same thing. You can be snobby and pretentious and not be hip or trendy. Hipsters usually don't take themselves seriously to avoid real criticism or they are incredibly serious over something a lot of people find silly or immature. People call Deafheaven hipster because it's trendy to mash 2 genres together that appeal to 2 very different crowds of music fans that typically would never really be associated with each other. It's trendy to take something that is meant to be aggressive and off putting and nerfing to be more accessible to people who wouldn't be into it. Deafheaven is hipster in that regard but I dont think they are doing it to be ironic or hip. I think they genuinely thought the sounds would go well together but it appealed to a very young, hip crowd of people who say they are into black metal despite not being really into it or listening to actual black metal.
