I believe the greater western chan/bbs culture is dying. Outside of Sup Forums/reddit it's resembling a wasteland of drive by nomadic groups. Even Sup Forums's suffering some effect from this. The next big thing is decentralization.
I was thinking about launching my own hobby chan. Seems to be a waste though. It's not the money, it's impossibility of attracting any userbase.
