youtube.com/watch?v=CefYXXaWd5c

Marietta is so tight. Have you listened to their new project narra?

Broken Hearts Are Blue - The Truth About Love (1996)
Pretty underrated/underappreciated album imo
youtube.com/watch?v=1ggD4_z73nM

I love me some good Emo music

youtube.com/watch?v=96fpWigdkFo

nope, i still haven't checked their second album yet, but plan on doing.
is narra good?

youtube.com/watch?v=xKmLPMWcZrI

I hate reddit but ever since /emo/ died just go to /r/emo

Not really emo imo, but this band is great.
Check out The Sea & Cake too.

I haven't listened to the third one yet, not in much of a hurry to now.

Got to see Mom Jeans on new years. They're so tight, sounded just like the record

Here's one I don't see mentioned too often.
It Looks Sad - Kaiju
youtube.com/watch?v=NIubkIOdmiY

>We are now alive in the golden era of emo
Hopefully this shit doesn't get popular again

It's not bad, just the other two are way better in my opinion. It's super lo-fi, and the vocal melodies are less catchy.

the early november - the rooms too cold
the starting line - say it like you mean it
sensesfail - let it enfold you
spitalfield - remember right now
rufio - perhaps i suppose
yellowcard - one for the kids
hidden in plain view - life in dreaming
dashboard - the swiss army romances
taking back sunday - tell all your friends
the junior varsity - wide eyed
ANY moneen album|
i can make a mess like nobodys business
ace enders and a million different people
bayside - sirens and condolences
anthony green saosin
circa survive
matchbook romance - stories and alibis

What's come out in the past year that was good?

The new TWIABP, Foxing, Hotelier, Into It. Over It., and MoBo were all super disappointing.

New Dowsing, Posture & the Grizzly, and teen suicide were decent

I really enjoyed Mom Jeans, Graduating Life, and Plainclothes releases. I suppose you're right, there wasn't a huge amount of releases but it's not exactly a flooded genre either

American Football was also a letdown

I'll have to check those out. Been avoiding Mom Jeans cause Reddit's been having a huge circlejerk about them

Oh yeah, that was so bad I'd blocked it from my memory

JANK was good too before they died. And the new You Blew It! was better than Match & Tinder, but not as good as Grow Up, Dude IMO

They only released a single so far. I dig it but i'm not sure that its really emo anymore
narradelphia.bandcamp.com/releases

someone recommend me albums like analphabetapolothology

The Front Bottoms - The plan (fuck jobs)
Sorority Noise - Blonde Hair, Black Lungs
Modern Baseball - The Thrash Particle
Joyce Manor - Constant Headache
Moose Blood - Cherry
Microwave - Thinking of you
Front Porch Step - Drown
Brand New - Jesus Christ

not digging the vocals, but the rest gives me a very americ anfootball vibe

Joan Of Arc
Midwest Pen Pals
Algernon Cadwallader

/r/emo fucking sucks. it's a whole bunch of tumblrfags advertising their shit music and talking about the same handful of shit bands.

I love that cover. Wish I could say the same about the music.

I happened to stumble upon mom jeans a few months ago and recently my roommate was telling me how they're starting to get popular on /r/emo. Was kinda sad to see it, but they're definitely a favorite of mine.

I've seen these guys they put on an incredible show too

>pretty unique sound compared to other bands of this genre, imo

Fucking bandcamp normies. Mom Jeans sounds like a good Modern Baseball. Not really unique, especially with the plethora of pop-punk emo bands

whats the vibe at their shows?

youtube.com/watch?v=v9VC9brKOd8

You're not wrong, but mom jeans is the only one that twinkles. that makes them unique. also they bring that bit of west coast flavor

any of u pussies like this?
middlemanrecords.bandcamp.com/album/gillian-carter-coma-regalia-6

plainclothes? Was pretty intimate, lots of tuning between songs and some joking around. and they were really tight

Sunny day real estate
Promise ring
Braid
Brand new
The get up kids

fuck yeah free throw. love these guys

youtube.com/watch?v=ktzSuPR-mB8
Obligatory

I loved that AF album

Pinegrove
Camp Cope
Microwave
Pup
Joyce Manor
Hurry

if i have to see one more fucking jank post im offing myself

top post right now is JANK...

Don't do it user, someone cares about you

My emo phase ended in mid-2014. Any really notable releases since then?

yes fuck that honestly it gave emo a really cringey image im very glad its dead

bro the golden era of emo was like 5-10 years ago before the scene cried too hard and shit itself

Good times - late bloom
Algae bloom - i am everyone I've never met
Old gray - slow burn
Any other good skrams releases recently? I haven't been paying that much attention

anything by coma regalia or gillian carter

Ordinary Silence by Mixtapes is pretty emo. As far as actual music that makes me act like I'm emo I'd say La Dispute's Wildlife. Anything by Self Defense Family.

The only really stand out revival emo band is The Brave Little Abacus and they're gone now

what a discography though

prove me wrong

Honestly as much as I like their sound I never cared for their really peaky tonality, I'm not just saying that because of the overall abrasiveness of their none, I like that, but sometimes they just don't balance the tone well out enough because of the overlapped synths, the flat midbass and the high-mid vocalist don't round out well into a good tone. I've heard that fashion executed well before, just these guys didn't click for me.

the mixing is a little iffy (and it was a result of the way it was recorded and produced) but idk I always found the melody and mood carried it and they just have so many memorable moments and like motifs in the way they repeat certain melodies and phrases across songs

have you listened to Okumay?

Actually yeah, I did like their sound better on that one. Part of me likes stuff like The Exquisites and Dad Punchers so I guess for Lo-Fi profiles I always like warmer, but you do have a point on the melodies, they give more emotional depth to the songs than you'd think they would at first blush.

Who of you posted this?

You condsider PUP emo?
