every country have good rock music that is known locally, but only anglos have acts that are know worldwide, including Australia and even nz.
Germany occasionally produced some big acts as well (rarely that sings in german).
Brazil is known for mpb, certainly not rock.
it's noteworthy that music that isn't rock/pop-derived is almost unknown in anglo speaking countries (french chanson, mpb, Italian pop.)
