These two are definitely my favorites. Strong arcs starting as every day people thrown into the deep end and becomming grizzled badasses that can rival any of the male counterparts of the time (and this was the 80s... which was like THE time for badasses). They even managed to be feminine without it being that preachy bullshit "girl power" nonsense that relies on everything around her with a penis devolving into a neanderthal so she can show how much better she is.
But "most powerful" means I have to go with this mary sue bullshit.
