nice dubs
and yes, it's dead. edm ruined everything
Rap is just a fucking kid with down syndrome, Rock has become a pussyfest, Vaporwave is the only good thing to be considered still good in 2016, techno and dubstep has become literal cancer. Yeah I'd say Music is fucked as a whole
This, I fully agree.
I dig synthwave a lot, it's something sincere.
Uninfluenced as well, just cool and atleast trying.
I just woke up to my neighbor blasting WORK WORK WORK WORK WORK, my walls rattling that shit music. yes, music is dead
Is music dead? The fuck does that even mean? Sounds like the kind of bullshit question some pseudo-intellectual teenager would ask to sound smart.
there is more good music being made now then 40 years ago. You just have to look a bit more.
Anything recent is pure garbage
punk died rip
Post examples
well what do you like? My taste in music probably isn't what you enjoy.
yes.
music is dead.
no one makes any music anymore
I'm really down for this
youtube.com
Down for 2000/2005 electronic music
>daft punk
>handsup era (special D, cascada, pulsedriver)
>happy hardcore from the 90s, there are so many unplayed gems that drive dancefloor crazy
>oldschool techno
The only electronic music I have on my list is Infected Mushroom, Pendulum and some The Prodigy.
ITT people listening to their radio while commuting
>hurr durr music is dead
Let me make a top 10 of very unfortunate 2016 'hits' that nowadays kids believe is called 'music'

personal favourite atm
This is my thinking too. Otherwise, I ussually listen to hip-hop and chill.
Music has never been better, honestly.
Thanks to streaming services, we have access to a massive amount of music from the early 1900's classical and jazz to modern techno.
Each decade seems to have its own unique sound, which is why some people stick to the 90s and 80s tunes, which is fine.
Not really... It just got more offensive and changed style. SMTB is probably the defining punk atm.
Plus people only remember the good stuff from the past because of nostalgia. The 80s and the 90s also had a huge amount of trash in the record stores...
Yes and no
>visit Sup Forums
Music is far from dead.

Sia is a pretty good musician, and definitely a good singer
Meet the frownies is great
please, stop. shit music has always been the chart topp-
>alaska thunderfuck
lol holy shit what the fuck is this real life haha what
ITT: Sup Forums knows fucking NOTHING about music.
Some amazing stuff out there if you look.
The worst thing is, this is now considered accepted in nowadays society.
what, drag? i couldn't care less if a man wants to dress like a woman
but shit music has been around forever, it's nothing new
yes, op is Sup Forums. Almost everyone in this thread agrees that music is as good as it ever was.
you should have shpongle
Writing a formula for 2017 hit charts.
Music should contain:
>less visuals, more boobs
>a 3 minute long re-occuring screech, no stopping
>take one nu-popular 'artist', miley will probably do it anyway, and make her wear a dot for her pussy only.
There, done. 2017 history has been made.
2027 generation is beyond doomed.
good music can only get better
and worse if you don't look hard enough
I agree, shit music has been there forever. Yet, it had a sense of new to it. Now it's just fitting in with social media. Trying to act cool. It's beyond shit
what the fuck is that supposed to mean kek
the only difference now is it's much easier to get your music out, so shit music is more prevalent.
We're a high quality producer together. We are currently sitting in top end studio and we'd have one hour to create the next top hit. What would you add?
All hail mark gormley
If you think music is dead do you also think "I was born in le wrong generation"? You faggots probably think top 50 charts is all of modern music
No, music isn't dead. Older music is still around to be enjoyed for years to come.
New music coming out, though, that's a completely different story.
>My neighbors were listening to pop chart music so that clearly means ALL music is dead
stop being a faggot, plenty of great music comes out every day
Made this thread to show what kids nowadays see and hear. 10-20 year olds
Comparing it to people who are 20-30 now.
Internet videos were around, but never there was a widespread availability of pure crap.
I'm hoping on two things
>someone stands up to change it
>the world stops being degenerate
i'm 20, when i was younger shit music was shoved into my spectrum by Hits 4 Kids cd's etc. Not everyone likes music that much. that's why they listen to pop music, because it is catchy and easy on the ears.
Music isn't dead. We are all just getting closer to the fucking grave.
All of this bullshit about music being shit these days is completely mental.
Its for kids. End of.
Look up sam padrul he reminds me of daft punk a bit
I mostly listen to metal and rock music and i disagree.
Yeah, there's shit coming out(magma from gojira) but overall is fine and totally not dead.
>inb4 metal is not music
to me it is and you can't change my opinion because I'm an ignorant white male
Not true.
I am 45 now, I saw great music rise up, we're in the time of depression now since 2008. Something similiar happened during the 60s till the 70s. The synthesizer completely changed a lot in music world.
I really enjoyed depeche mode, new order, michael jackson, kool and the gang, genesis and so much more. 80s synthpop is great too, they all had something truly unique.
Nowadays kids try so hard it hurts my eyes.
people who say metal isn't music are people who almost exclusively listens to pop though. No genre matches the energy that comes from metal, at least in my opinion.
Metalfag reporting in. Doesn't seem like music is dead as a whole. I'd be willing to say that the pop genre has been dead for years but that's a subjective thing really.
this guy's got the right idea
there's just an abundance of music now a days, so you gotta look a bit harder.
>High bpm
There's your energy. But all metal sounds like djent to me tbh. I have to be in the mood for it, and most times I am not.
Gave up on music entirely in the late 90's. Nothing but total dogshit this century
ITT a bunch of single white rock retards who think anything without a guitar isn't "real" music because they're too disabled to understand anything other than overdrive
the pop genre has never been about making good music though, it's about making money, sadly.
haha high bpm is far from the reason. I can go find a techno song at 300 bpm right now and it won't make me feel a thing. There's a lot more layers to it.
>More layers
>Cites techno with way more individual tracks
Bruh
2008 - 2016
Great depression
youtube.com
I acknowledge. Are you my god now that saves me?
I'm not shitting on techno, just saying it doesn't have the same energy or feel to it at all.
Also you just stated why you are listening to it, because you are biased towards guitar. I play guitar and I still agree that it's an overused instrument.
Nice dubs, if you want some suggestions for metal that doesn't sound djenty I can shoot some your way.
>it's about making money
That's why I said pop's been dead for years. I've always held the belief that if you're doing music for the money then you need to leave the industry. But I'm just a small time musician what do I know
Yeah it was never alive in my opinion kek. small time musician myself. in the studio atm but it's going slowly.
Wish you luck in studio mate.
thanks bud, appreciate it.

Music is not dead
your preferences are out somewhere on vinyl,on yt,on a hundred IT sources, your own specialty may wane, like others,& be reborn again when your own rugrats get grey in the noggin
music all sorts is everywhere
Unorganized rumble, sounds like a cat is thrown onto the equipment. Well mastered, that's for sure. But is it any good? Or does it resemble nowadays fast paced society?
I'd say pop is a lot better than it was in the 90s. The indie sounding rock is a lot better than the my chemical romance and fall out boy crap from the 2000s. As for EDM there's nothing wrong with it considering its fucking DANCE music. No different than shitty 90s electronic music, or 80s new wave before it, and 70s disco before that.
Stop being a try hard fag ok?

Listening to Tame Impala and enjoying it
But I get what you mean, most mainstream music now is absolute donkey dick
If I started to not like you are you dead?
No right!
Music is alive people are stuck in the past
And there's your problem.
The past had genuine music.
Sincere music. Made with care.
>The past had genuine music.
As if genuine isn't relative
>Made with care
Is care cocaine?
Like I said bro sounds like to me you are stuck in the past. There was good music then and there is still now I think you just may be out of touch and to lazy to dig deeper.
