Go gibson or go home

Are baritone guitars worth it?

3rd for blind man shilling

youtube.com/watch?v=qjpmWVs5T-8

Some say no. Some say yes. Youll actually have to play on to decide for your self

>when you're drunk on stage at the open mic, finish your first song and you've forgotten the rest of the setlist but the drummer and bassist are already starting up on the second song

What are you planning on using it for?

>2017
>not owning a tube amp

Playing guitar at very low tunings. hurr durr
No djent, no death metal or anything. Maybe the odd prog metal stuff (DT). I also think it could sound quite nice with a clean sound.
But actually now that I think about it, I have very short fingers so maybe a baritone isn't the most sensible thing to buy for me. I already have a hard time getting my thumb over the neck on LPs sometimes.

Reposting for visibility

Fender Bassbreaker 15 for home practice. Would it be too loud? I wanted the 7 watt but no effects loop.

Try one to feel what it's like.

Nah a 15 watt combo is good for home use.

Any love for flamenco or rumba? It's my favorite genres to play and I've been working on my different compases and golpes.

Shit's hard for me tho. Any protips to relax your fingers more? I feel my strumming hand is too stiff still.

I probably wouldn't have one in a small apartment, but you'll get some great tones at volumes that won't take your face off or piss off the neighbors if you live in a house.

You can always use that clean channel with a dirt pedal for quieter volume.

>tfw neighbor is old and deaf

I had a baritone fender tele and compared to low tuned standard size fenders, the string tension felt better/tighter, it stayed in tune a lot better, and the longer scale really added to the resonance. I was running it through a fender bassman 100 and bass cab with fuzz and it roared.

Probably had that neat long scale snap.

What do you guys use to record demos? Would you recommend a full DAW for someone that finds audacity clunky and unintuitive for trying to compose?

Thanks guys. I dont live in an apartment it will mostly be used in my medium sized living room.

>tfw no 30" jazzmaster tuned to A

Picked one up dirt cheap and it does a great job.

Even the amp sims are okay for demo use/ playing with arrangements

15 tube watts is loud as fuck, don't expect to turn it up more than 3-4 on the dial, even then the windows be rockin'.

Seems you've replied to the wrong post famalam.

No, I'm talking about neoflamenco and neorumba.

thanks!

meant for

I have a question, Ive been playing bass for about a year and recently put light strings on a Ibanez which normally has higher gauge strings on it, The E when tuned down gives an awful buzzing sound. Myself and a Lutheran found that it was because of the lighter string sitting too deep in the nut.

I intend on using the strings for a month before switching out to a heavier set. My question is instead of constantly jumping between E standard and D Standard, would it be worth getting a second bass specifically for one tuning?

Sorry if i'm being a trog, im new to all this bass tech stuff. Pic is of current bass

Just fed my chorus 12v instead of 9v and I am in heaven.

Wat it do?

>actually wondering how would that sound
Probably like this.
youtube.com/watch?v=0LkpHqSuWr8&t=19s

Way more headroom and "sparkle"

Wouldn't that cause your pedal to die after a while?

Depends, some can take up to 18v, if it's not rated past 9v it's life will be shorter.

Possibly, if it's only a capacitor that dies I can repair that

What's up? I'm just gonna post this video of me shredding in hopes someone likes it and I get some followers or something. At least enough to have a real username lol

m.youtube.com/watch?v=vKsioYo9bRg

Thats kind of what i dont want. With a 7 i could probably crank it but lmao no effects loop

lol

I replied to the wrong thread
it took me about a month to do changes between all of them at about 70 bpm

Why is the bass more expensive than a guitar?

If you're asking if you should buy another bass guitar, I'll reply as i would if someone asked if they should buy another guitar.

Of course you should. I can't really think of a reason not to, besides not having the funds.

>Go gibson or go home

Speaking of wich, did I do good? Should have it by next week!

It most likely will

...

> my guitar is in my room
> I'm in the living room
> another guitar solves this problem
I also bought a chreap guitar to play after work when my hands aren't 100% clean

Rockin' telescope, bro

This makes sense, any reccs?

Ive been eye up Fender Precision basses on GuitarGuitar but i dunno about the fat necks on them as im used to the ibanez

Haha thanks man. I don't use it nearly as much as I should. I tried to look at the moon once and it was cool, but it's not powerful to see anything else. At least from my bedroom window.

Look through your neighbors windows with it

Whats the best workhorse gigging guitar and amp pairing?

Should have saved up more user. The tribute series sucks. You could have got a top of the line Epiphone for roughly the same price and that would be better than that.

telecaster and blues junior

Fender Strat, Marshall stack.

or les paul and vox ac30

something like that. maybe a wah, delay and noise gate for pedals.

youtube.com/watch?v=BkZnlxMgEPU

youtube.com/watch?v=WTIYA3vCJww

you tell me user

here's the situation: i'm living with mom in our house while i go to college right now, but she's about to move for her work. when she does im going to have to move in to an apartment and go to school. i want to get some drums, but i dont want to buy electronic ones and then have to buy acoustic ones if i get into a band and we gig. also with acoustics i'd possibly have to buy more mics since i just have a shure. right now i only do solo recording

which one do i buy?

if you use real drums in an apartment youre going to get kicked out.

some Guitars i've owned in the past - 1/?

2/?

depends on the apartment but yea drums in a shitty apartment are no good

nothing wrong with electric drums

3/?

4/?

5/?

tremolo - before or after phaser?

6/?

E-kits are great but shit for gigging/recording

Even the mid-top range kits have shitty midi outputs which is a pain in the ass for any engineer to sound half good

Name ONE more versatile guitar then a fender strat with an HSS pickup.

Protip: You probably can't

that robot tele some guy here made with 5 pickups or some shit

ES-335

any guitar with three p-rails that have their on on/off switches and 3 way tap switches for each pickup

also a Reverend bass contour knob, and an active preamp

Ibanez RG.

But think of all the wacky shit you can do with effects

>set toms to barking dog effect

When you guitar is applying pressure on your testicles

dude....below the dick or above the dick, never on the dick

Hook, line & sinker

Nah, when I'm sitting down this strats button horn is pressing down on my shit

there isnt

but you'd honestly be better off with a regular strat and a different HH guitar

play with it strapped close and high while sitting

Anyone care to share their experiences with Ear Training.
What helped you the most?
intervals, dictation, transcribing, harmonic progressions?
Best way to learn these things?
Is it even worth trying to learn perfect pitch?

What helped you the most?
intervals, dictation, transcribing, harmonic progressions?
>interval recognition, listening to music, learning songs by ear, singing
Best way to learn these things?
>practice. sing an interval and then play it on your guitar
Is it even worth trying to learn perfect pitch?
>meme, you cant 'learn' perfect pitch

sight reading singing is by far the best, albeit hardest, way to train note recognition

How are you supposed to know that an A chord is made up with A C# E and not A E A?
C is straight forward with the repeating notes but A is throwing me off

because of the way the strings are laid out

there's no C sharp on the first 4 frets of the D string, so you play E instead.

Because A is not in the key of C Major.

Well I'm not too sure but a chord consists of 3 different notes so AEA is only 2

>econ prof's name is Gibson
Kekekekekekek

Relative pitch. Perfect pitch is not worth your time

>How are you supposed to know that an A chord is made up with A C# E and not A E A?

Dont go by the way the notes are laid out on the guitar. Triads are the root, the 3rd and the 5th.
A E A is just a A5 chord.

Learn Triads, and learn key signatures.
Amajor is A B C# D E F# G#

A C E is an A chord, but with a minor third so its Amin.
A C# E would be A Major

I've been looking into pic related do any of you know how well it works?

"buy cheap, buy twice" - Justin Guitar

That being said, recommend me a bass amp. Note: I've been playing for about 7 years and am sick of using my buddy's stack for playing out. I only have a Fender 15B amp I use for home practice.

Must be able to handle a fender passive P and a fender deluxe active P bass special (9V).

Must also be durable, as light as possible, and be able to keep up with the drummer, guitarists, etc. Bonus points if the amp is pedal compatible, but not needed.

If I bought the mobile version of BIAS FX a while back and paid for an expansion pack or two, would I need to buy those expansions again if I got the desktop version?

>he fell for the amp sim jew

It sounds pretty good to me, tbqh

clyp.it/fbwxdt51
