Doesn't the guy who made this actively browse Sup Forums?

Bands who use keyboard instead guitars?

Yeah, The Orphean Lyre sure is great, huh?

Didn't the guy who made this also made this thread?

Doesn't the guy who made this also post this several times a day?

This was some pretty standard shoegaze if i remember correctly

Not sure

No, I did.

I haven't really seen this posted that often.

It's been posted in every /shugazi/ thread sonce it's release. And I remember a couple where it was posted twice.

hey friendos

i'm looking for more dancey shugazi, like some curve and soundpool

is there more

I unironically think this is a pretty great album

Blackgaze
Skyforest re-release aftermath that's all I know

Grow House was better

melrosee.bandcamp.com/album/melrose

>Canadian LO-FI slowcore/Shoegaze

what does the slowdive tweet mean

Wait a second...
Slowdive has a twitter?

more like most generic

Just beacause you did not posted the name of the album:
Seance by Tangible Rays

Someone upload the 24bit flac or wav file already :^)

Any techno/house-influenced gaze or gaze-influenced house/techno?

Is there any other decent blackgaze album?

it means GET FUCKING HYPED

I wonder how it feels for the dude that made the album to see people pirating it on Sup Forums. I'd probably be happy if i was him desu

name please, google images search shows film Heat

I'm at a Les Discrets show and there's only metal fags here (it's a metal focused venue). Can't wait for them to complain

Just listen to Gas - Pop

Tangible Rays - Seance

bowery electric is the closest, gas is great too also all dubtechno

It's kind of a big deal desu

It's literally only talked about on Sup Forums though. I quite like it but I haven't seen it in many places but here

Grow House was way noisier and less accessible. Seance is way more pop oriented IMO. Not sure which one I like more.

I hate Slowdive.

I've seen it on reddit too.

I searched it on reddit and only saw a post with 7 upvotes about it, its not very popular anywhere else

i just got into shoegaze 5 months ago and i fucking hate when youtube playlist features songs made in 2000's

y?

its just more fascinating for me to hear old records that sound like they could've come out today, knowing people did it before it was "cool" or "accepted" and also used way less technology

idk after 1993, i don't think people thought shoegaze was very "cool" anymore

it never really got mainstream attention either

wasn't it quite popular after loveless und souvlaki doe?

"popular" as in people were listening to it - yes
popular as in big shows, magazine covers, record deals etc I think not

thats one of the eras im referring to as well, "when the sun hits" came out in 1995 if i'm not mistaken - and it sounds very different than most 90's pop/r&b i can remember.

i can't speak for early 2000's shoegaze (uninformed and unaware) but post 2010/tumblr/youtube stuff is where i lose interest

>different than most pop/r&b
doesn't like all shoegaze??

When The Sun Hits came out in 1993

frontierrecords-lilys.bandcamp.com/album/in-the-presence-of-nothing

Are you ready?

not really into that new cover
but it's cool they're reissuing it, i'm seeing them in february

i said 90's pop/r&b. as in 90's pop culture, when the "coolness" had waned off, remember???

oh ok, i must be thinking about the 2nd album that didn't do so well??? im going off of memory so i may have things all twisted

Loveless wasn't that popular when it first dropped either desu.

pretty sure mbv was pretty big as far as indie rock went after you made me realize came out

We comparing Loveless to Seance now?

it was, souvlaki was not that popular tho

t. guy who made Seance

or people actually enjoy the album

Not sure if bait

not sure if bait

I really doubt it with how much it's shilled in these threads as of recently. It's pretty generic sounding shoegaze, actually. So start shilling your uninventive music somewhere else, faggot.

it's probably some other guy shilling it
the tangible rays guy posts here, but i don't think he's the type to start comparing to to loveless or nothing

Im not the dude lol I just like how it combines lo-fi indie which is a genre I like, with shoegaze, which is a genre i like.

Why would someone else compare it to Loveless then? It's not horrible or anything, but it's not even what I would consider good. It's like a 5-6 out of 10. Who would defend it so hard if they're not the creator?

I still don't believe you.

people like to overrate obscure shit they like that's just what happens
>he's never seen lo-fi indie mixed with shoegaze

Their second album is Souvlaki, the album which "When The Sun Hits" is on, which came out in 1993, which is retrospectively their critical and commercial peak

>he's never seen lo-fi indie mixed with shoegaze
This. Here's some obscure indie shit that did it way better:
ovlov.bandcamp.com/album/am
barlow.bandcamp.com/album/fell-asleep-ep
trementina.bandcamp.com/album/almost-reach-the-sun

woodygrant.bandcamp.com/album/summer-songs
^^^^ Sup Forums poster by the way who doesn't feel the need to constantly shill his shit.

Did I say I've never seen it? I just said I enjoyed the album

Does every album need to break ground to be good

thanks Ill check them out

ok, well that makes the 1995 album the third, which is the one i was referring to

also: i found this photo album on my device…looks like tumblr stuff but is any of it music???

this is quite possibly the worst baiting ive ever seen on this board user

bait how?? i went searching for pictures that looked like what i thought shoegaze sounded like. i literally don't remember who are what they came from

Flying Saucer Attack - New Lands
>Space Rock, Neo-Psychedelia, Shoegaze, Ambient,

youtube.com/watch?v=Rs-WNjdJOjo

mega.nz/#!jUJD1IZL!bxIS3jbZsh3D5hJndxpef_EZQwjOXRsSZMQinlfzAZQ

man you're fucking wild

wild??? whaf does this mean??

Didn't we already know that they were working on a new album?

Has anyone here seen slowdive live recently?
Do they play new shit or what?

Not really. Loveless was an underground hit on release, it didn't really get huge attention for a while.

Souvlaki was in a similar situation, and their debut record sold better than it did at release.

>the tangible rays guy posts here, but i don't think he's the type to start comparing to to loveless or nothing

This. I've chatted with Rob on a couple occasions about recording/music/etc, he is an extremely chill and humble dude. I highly doubt he is behind any of this shilling.

nice try rob

Wish LD would come to the US, hyped for the new album especially if they include more trip-hop stuff like the new song

What album is this? Call me a normie. Don't care.

Tangible Rays - Seance

you're not a normie for not knowing it, but this question has been asked 2 times already in this thread, so you could have just looked ;/

Thank you, good sir. Is it any good? _/10?

It's actually aotysf not just shoegaze aotysf

>aotysf
You think so? I gotta give it a listen as soon as I get out of class.

I gave it a 7/10, really comfy

I expect it'll get knocked out on Friday though. Care - Luv In Ruins is the strong runner up right now I think.

As a lover of shoegaze, I really need to do my homework lmao

Luv In Ruins isn't shoegaze if I accidentally implied that. Cold Body Radiation is the only other shoegaze I know of this year and it's only about half shoegaze at most. Still really good though.

Oh? What is Luv like then?

For lack of a better word I've just been calling it indie rock

I guess you could call it my aotysf, but then again it's only 2 weeks into the year

Any good 2016 shoegaze, I only have Kinoko Teikoku.

Never heard of psub? The follow-up to their 2015 album which took the world by storm?

AR Kane was involved in the British dance scene that was prominent around the same time, I suggest their singles collection.
Also the new Autolux is fairly dancy.

bump for this. recc me the essential synth-gaze

you got it backwards. this is decent but there are so many better albums.

salem

I really liked that new Autolux, seems like not many people talked about it on here.

AOTY

Not even joking.

It's January 11 man, that's not saying much.

not even AOTD

yeah i saw him post this in a bandcamp thread
what a legend

>tfw from now on tangible rays can never be sincerely talked about
nice fucking job
