It's a manga that's been running for 20+ years now, and it's pretty incredible. One of the things that's most interesting about it, is that the author has basically reinvented himself in his style several times throughout the series, while still keeping it true to its roots. During the first 10 volumes (referred to collectively as the "Golden Age" arc), it's basically gritty 80s style manga of purely dark medieval warfare, becoming borderlined historical fiction. but in volumes 11-12+ literally hell opens up and pours itself onto earth evil dead style but in a completely serious manner. Over the next ~5 volumes you have every bit of bad in his world corrupted and risen to full blown demonic rape-fests; corrupt priests burning everyone at the stake, packs of roving goblins kidnapping women, raping and impregnating them to make more monsters, an evil god-emporer who tries to take over the world etc. It then turns into a traditional swords/sorcery fantasy where Guts assembles a team of rag-tag heroes to destroy the five God Hands of hell, one of whom was his best friend and rival during the Golden Age.

Best user on Sup Forums!
So, thoughts on ep 10?

I liked it but I am going to admit I need to rewatch it as I was kinda out of it when I watched it. The whole angel fight is what I have been waiting for and from what I remember it was pretty good.

Hey guys! what's up?

Gotcha, gotcha, I know the feeling.
It was pretty good, I'm happy with how the torturors turned out.
Going back to episode 9, the last ~30 seconds before the ending song or so when the music starts and Guts gets up to fight them, I think that was the best scene so far, it was amazing to me.

It's... beautiful.

Hey Zer0!

The usual, subbing, and whatnot.
Rewatched some Strike Witches which was very nice, S1E6, when Yoshika went on a night flying mission with Eila and Sanya. It was healing.
Also started Mushishi which is nice.

You?

yeah they are really capturing the spirit of berserk with the main fights. I think the Hai Yo song is absolutely spot on for the fights.
I was also thinking how I think Guts' voice is perfect. I saw someone complaining how they don't like his voice but I just can't see it. I think it fits perfectly.
Also it was only on this episode I realized that Puck has not been established that he can heal Guts' injuries. It seems Guts just heals naturally.

I really like this image. It actually hits a soft spot on me.

>I think the Hai Yo song is absolutely spot on for the fights.
Absolutely agreed, I'd say it rivals the best songs from the original anime.
Guts's voice is very fitting, and works well from being detached, to urgent, to near-rage.
Right, they haven't shown Puck as being able to heal him, or much of Guts's counterpart, either, but more of the comic relief role that Puck also plays. In this episode Guts was getting thrown around much more than in this series, so I expected him to be a little more weary and he was, but not as much as I expected.

not a lot, spent most of the day trying to learn Hearts of Iron 4 before deciding I didn't want to bother with it. Now just shitposting and trying to decide questions about VN's.

This and gantz get me on the verge of tears whenever I think about what the main protag went through

Like that weird dream-sequence chapter showing Guts, Griffith, and Casca in a perfect home setting.

What VN's you looking at?

I looks up to Guts when I need motivation to get through hard things. It works wonders.

I think it is almost similar to the first series how Miura says it was only as an advertisement for the manga. It is kind of similar here because you really have to know the backstory for some events to really care. Unless I am forgetting, the bird mask apostle guy never explained why he loves Mozgus so much or how his skin burns in sunlight so they are leaving a lot of stuff out of the anime. Which is ok to me as I read the manga but I do wonder about people who never read it think about it.

Yeah I wonder what Miura meant by that sequence. I wonder if he will ever delve into the meaning further or if it will be forever up to us to interpret.
I also think of Guts whenever I am feeling down or that I need to feel stronger. I do think its crazy that I have to rely on a fictional character to find strength but Miura did a good job on making an inspiring person.

I don't recall that Torturer saying anything like that either, but it was a pretty cool addition, nice to get some backstory. Made it more touching when he was thanking God for the opportunity to die in service to him/Mozgus. I may have teared up a little.

I try to explain that to everyone, that if you want to get the most out of Berserk 2016, you gotta know the story ahead of time. But I also wonder how one would enjoy if they had no prior knowledge. Probably very confused.

Hey guys, I got a question. I started reading Berserk a couple of weeks back but got caught up to the present chapter quickly. So I'm wondering how often does a new chapter usually get released.

End of Chapter 232 and end of dump for tonight

In the past it's been erratic, ranging from a month to half a year. Recently though we're back on track with a chapter at the end of each month, so let's hope and pray that it continues.

IDK. Might continue with Noble Works (that one I abandoned a long time ago). Nekopara will get played whenever I feel like it, still. Might try to find new things to play. IDK yet.

Right, I remember that one.
Play Euphoria, great one.

Thanks

Yup, sure thing.

...

"Just look at this dress. I look like a church bell."

i might, actually, thanks.

Lemme know how that goes for you.
I didn't play it all the way through so if you do, I'll need an explanation for the ending.
