bum

Turns out no one remembers that shit.

you now remember the jerking craze of the late 2000's/early 2010's

For good reason. I'd say most Sup Forumstants are too young to get it though.

What are all of these blokes doing now?

>this was all ten years ago
noooooooo ;_;

NME-core shite that deserves to be forgotten

Remember when music blogs with rapidshare and megaupload links were a thing?

>1993 was 28 years ago

metro station, owl city, hellogoodbye are pretty good though

Imagine never aging past 14

Metro Station is inexcusably awful
That one hellogoodbye song gives me comfy feels though

imagine not being able to have fun

our lips
can touch

i miss 2007 senpai

that one hellogoodbye album was decent
those others not so much

Imagine never aging past 14

>tfw when you'll never be a randum xD nu-raver with an equally randum xD nu-rave gf

don't remind me

underage board m8
Sup Forums is too new for this shit

i'm not aware of any of these.

Remember when the Yeah Yeah Yeah's, LCD Soundsystem and other New York-scene bands were the coolest things on the planet?

hey do you guys remember swans they put out a lot of stuff in the 80s and 90s and they were really good

this is a british-centric list

I remember it but don't want to. Overall, 2007 sucked. 1987 was much better.
>Janet Jackson
>ABC
>Rick Astley
>Eric B. and Rakim
>Guns 'n Roses
>Michael Jackson
>Whitney Houston
>Level 42
>Boogie Down Productions
>Swing Out Sister
>INXS
>Basia
>George Michael
>Public Enemy
>Exposé
>Living in a Box

>the kooks
they were like oasis or arctic monkeys amirite?

member crunkcore?

oh, i member

LCD Soundsystem is still cool

Boys Noize is still doing well, same with Lilly Allen. Millionaires are touring at the smallest of small venues and probably making shit money. Idk about any of the other ones.

remember this?
>youtube.com/watch?v=Bg59q4puhmg

Can someone ITT make an American one? I'd be interested to see which 10 year old US buzzbands I've forgotten about.

i remember this, every morning before school
youtube.com/watch?v=5roz5-wdjBg

>lilly allen was 10 years ago
lmao fuck that bitch

this

Every objectively bad music is "fun" and "chill" for your average mu poster for some reason

I remember it all. I remember spending an entire year listening to DJ Mehdi at university because I was desperate to bang my friend that knew Busy P.

We never banged. She's not that attractive anymore, we're both thirty but I'd still like to.

>Gym Class Heroes, Lily Allen and Owl City were 10 years ago
Where did the years go, Sup Forums?

...

Most failed indie musicians end up becoming secondary school teachers - presumably because they're still desperate to impress a group of teenagers in the faint hope they'll get blown

True,I even still have a soft-pot for early YYY's. But those bands were certainly shilled to hell by NME and all the other '''cool''' music press publications at one point. It was irritating.

I've never met anyone online or irl who has admitted to having a crunkcore phase, but someone had to because it was most certainly a thing.

>enter shakari
it's sh*i*kari. And it's shit.
>kap bambino
Good, fun version of Crystal Castles. Maybe I'll relisten them. youtube.com/watch?v=FRHsIAj9QaA
>owl city
meh.
>gym class heroes
radio-, tv- pop shit
>lily allen
shit.
>hellogoodbye
kinda shitty, but that one song (you know it) gives me nostalgia kick.
>boys noize
hey, he's kinda active up to date, dropping some shitty singles, running BNR label. His bangers aged well.
>does it offend you, yeah?
shit.
>3oh3
they actually dropped an album last year, it's awful as usual, they looks are different.
>nu-rave
you made me remember this youtube.com/watch?v=O2_cVc-8lNU

>tfw people born in 2007 will literally be 10 years old this year
>tfw you feel like you were a 10 year old only a few short years ago
>tfw that was thirteen years ago

hold me.

THIS. Remember holyfuckingshit3000?

I'm going to a Take to the Skies show this year, should be a bit of fun.

Remember when you could google this:
site:mediafire.com "insert-any-album-here"
and you could find nearly ANYTHING?
Truly the golden ages of music piracy

all of this shit sucks, yet it tugs my heartstrings like nothing else

garbage.

sharethread.blogspot.com/

I still have fond memories for this blog and Chainsaw Fellatio.

I remember finding obscure post-rock like this:
youtube.com/watch?v=1Uw_QxWVy1Q

you forgot electroclash, hadouken, digitalism and dance-punk

>we're both thirty
>thirty
Dude, how is it up there, on the thirty mark? Do you have house, car, decent job?

Not gonna lie, I still like The Shins. Those other acts, though... straight outta myspace.

...

blogspot was unironically 10x better than Sup Forums for discovering music

are they pitchfork-approved? I take pitchfork very seriously because they review bad white music and not bad black music

Music sucked ten years ago. But it sure felt like it was going somewhere.

what a horrible year 2007 was

>2007 was 10 years ago

2007 was also a really shit year all round. 2004 - 2009 was a really tacky period.

ohh old times, my first suicide try

Swans actually had a good reputation on Sup Forums around 2008, and Michael Gira's side-projects got a lot of focus.

the 00s feel like a weird cultural uncanny valley now

You mean 29

Yeah but was the hipsterism, of 2010-2014 much better?

>In Rainbows was released on 2007
The thing that I can only remember

Spoopy

You fucks remember how BFMV were the biggest band in the world, then they just fucking disappeared.

such cringe
youtube.com/watch?v=eiiU-Fky18s

It wasn't THAT bad.

I remember when Alcest first came around and thinking "it's like shoegaze and black metal combined? whoa"

Strawberry Jam too, still Anco's best. And "backpacker" rap was great too, aged a lot better than much of the indie shit of the time.

indeed

I was 10 years old and was experiencing bullying for the first time

tfw

faggit

Noel fielding and the Horrors, were the two coolest entity's that year.

wait, what's Katy Perry doing here?

twenty one pilots are basically gym class heroes pt. 2

>Encyclopedia Dramatica was still relevant and funny in 2007
I can't tell if the humor there has aged like raw fish or if I don't like it anymore because I'm a bitter old person now.

yes, same level of shit.

Yeah cause Swans is fucking based

>ywn be able to bang a scene chick during this era
>you will always lose you virginity in 2012
I wanted to fuck one so bad by my friends were all assholes that I was worried would have bullycided me.

desu yeah. I lived through both so I'm not saying this through lack of experience. 2010-14 hipsterdom was mostly shit, but it was comfy. 01-09 everything was ugly and tacky.

I still unironically love Primary Colours. Everything after that was dull, not bad, but dull.

Remember this?

youtube.com/watch?v=I_1LWVOFw4Y

>this is 2006
youtube.com/watch?v=iArXv64tCJA

I get you, atleast there was a certain atheistic those hipsters knew they were going for. The 2000s was very unsure of itself. Everything was the new something which we were all supposed to like even though it was shit.

RIP OUT THE WINGS OF A BUTTERFLY FOR YOUR SOUL

it'll be 1993 again in another 13 billion years

what was jon oliver thinking back then

I still do that

Maps is a pretty good song

'Who can say' Triggers all kinds of emotions for me. I can't say much about the rest of the album. But there is something so haunting about that song..

Why are you ignoring these faggots, user?
youtube.com/watch?v=fe4EK4HSPkI

Nigga i was born then.

What are you talking about? It's still September 1993

I also still like the shins. They've got some pretty fun albums, even if they're not really groundbreaking or anything.

youtube.com/watch?v=UAQcNo9yWbM

Christ the indie landfill was real even back then. On the other hand I'm pretty nostalgic for the period.

is that Joanna Newsom?

2007 was 7th grade

The only reason I'm nostalgic for those days is because a big part of me knows I could have seriously turned things around back then. It was the beginning of the end, and my life could have turned out so much better if I just would have done a couple of things different and had a better attitude, but I just started to fuck myself over.

Please don't give me these feels.

kate nash is pretty good though
