we all did

I was really into them when I was 15 too, honestly their early stuff including Hold Your Colour still holds up

I believe Hold Your Colour has many good tracks. In Silico and Immersion are a commercial pro-kid pile of "electronic rock" garbage.
But they helped my grown as a based guy in music.

Immersion is their only good album

Immersion is the demonstration that good music is not for everyone. Predictables EDM tracks, no trace of drum'n'bass. In this album i only see their need for money.

>implying Immersion is better than Hold Your Colour

the thing with Hold Your Colour and many other popular (but good) electronic music artists is that while they were able to make great songs they never mastered the skill to make an album. For instance, Skrillex's Bangarang EP, has so many undisputable good songs, yet when he made Recess It just didn't work that well. On the other hand, you have Excision, who's Existence EP is fucking amazing yet X Rated is just meh. Same happens here, there are a few songs that are still fantastic to this day (Hold Your Colour, Blood Sugar, Tarantula) but i never actually find myself listening to the full album

I listened to In Silico, Hold Your Colour and Immersion a lot a few weeks ago. I still love to listen to them..

Immersion is their best album by a mile.

It's almost like acceptable EDM. The sound design and the melodies on Immersion are actually ok.

The shitposters Pendulum is far better

Exactly haha

hold your colour is unironically great
in silico is ironically/ nostalgically great
immersion is garbo, but ofc the contrarians of Sup Forums would defend it. it has like 3 good songs (watercolour, island pt. 1 before it descends into that wubstep nonsense, the steven wilson track)

was in a coffeeshop in dam that was playing nothing but hold your colour tracks, yet out of order for some reason. like someone just put the album on shuffle. anyway shit was lit get with it

>wubstep nonsense
but that's the fun part

fucking prodigy always degenerates into wubby nonsense but nobody has a go at them for it

both Pendulums are Australian

haha no.
They're british.. or did reality shift again

m8 most people who won't give pendulum a chance also think all prodigy after jilted is garbo

idk much 00's prodigy anyway but i can't think of any 90s prodigy that was as obnoxious as island pt 2

pendulum is basically the prodigy of the 00s anyway

>In Silico a bad album

I can get the hate because is not extremely DnB like with Hold Your Colour, but even In Silico is not so much DnB and is still great, Immersion in my opinion is their best because the variety of electronic style they made, besides the DnB there is still incredible like with the previous ones.

All 3 of Pendulum's albums are incredible, and X Rated is fucking dope man c'mon.
Recess could've been a little better, but that was release like right as he was getting into more trap and pop oriented EDM. I'd love to see him go back to making some of his signature Brostep and Electro on a new LP.

>melodies
I completely agree, Pendulum has some of the sickest leads in EDM as well.

>all this love for Immersion
Nice guys, knew you weren't all fags.

Also, what's your guys opinion on ShockOne?

>when I was getting into Pendulum and dared to make a couple threads about them I got completely shot down, called a turbopleb, fag etc.

>now suddenly Sup Forums's decided they're acceptable

fuck you guys :(

All these positive comments about Pendulum, lol. I spent 6 years searching for Blood Sugar as a kid. I remembered the melody perfectly the whole time after having heard it once in an old internet video/flash. Even tried to recreate it in FL Studio and listened to that for a while. At like 15 I finally found it in a shitty black and white porn clip. AMA

They were okay but got massively over hyped for no good reason and ruined D&B (more) for a while, arguably not their fault but it still happened.

Not very good.

Still love them, but the Drum 'n' Bass genre and most other electronic genres just get rinsed to the point where you have to move on and fuck with something new. Immersion is pretty sick though.

YYEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Because its metal riffs disguised in synths

Plasticworld is probably the best dnb track of all times

this guy knows what's up

>tfw full live band set up played our student union
>got absolutely face clawed by some slag when I didn't even elbow her but it was worth it

Saw the "DJ Set" of the DJ guy and the MC Verse, not too horrific either but not the same naturally.

Can't say much more about The Island pt.1 got like 200 plays on my winamp library at the time. Absolute banger.

Always preferred the Bipolar mix of the Hold Your Colour single, I think it was on a few PS2 game OSTs as well.

i think their albums got increasingly worse, although there are great tracks on all of them.
so apparently a new album is coming out this year, great news but i don't have high hopes for it, as their singles like watercolour and witchcraft were, excuse the pub, watered down poppy thrash.
still though, new pendulum. fuck yeah!

I don't think I have ever heard such a terrible opinion before.

They're Australian m8. You just have a shit memory

Whichever way you think of them, they are one of the most worthy notable in dnb scene. Their track "Vault" especially which wasnt on HYC (but it was back in those days) and "Tarantula" which is still a banger imo. Then came In Silico which is a fuck from Rob to all those who wanted Pendulum not to evolve/do their thing. Live gigs are really awesome and you cant compare DJing with live gigs. Its like comparing eggs w/ tomatos. They are eddible but not the same. In the end Immersion...They did what was obvious...They changed more their style!! It was more electronic and metal! Last song...Ransom..Definitely dubstep(for charity)..Loved that move. And in aome live gigs they played War of Worlds..Something like Knife Partys Begin Again, The Island I think. They didnt do what people wanted, BUT what they wanted. Every fan or just listener has to show reapect in this move even if he doesnt agree with them. And hell yeah I love every album for different reasons and because of the different vibes. Not even one other artist caused "this thing" to me (except Daft Punk) which are another story for another time. I really wan to thank OP for giving me this opportunity! And gyus you have to know that their back..They are not done yet.
