Why is the score 15-30-40 in Tennis and not something like 1-2-3 or 10-20-30 or 5-10-15.
The current point system isn't logical. Perhaps there's a logical explanation behind it, but I can't figure it out.

no it isn't the reason for the scoring is the clock face as someone else said, so originally it was 15-30-45-60 (60 being a win) but then someone had the idea that the game shouldn't be able to be won by a one point difference (i.e. the idea of deuce) so they changed the 3rd increment from 45 to 40 so that the score would still fit on the clock face during "deuce"
