What are your thoughts on Turkey?
Kinda wish the army had succeeded in its coup, given Erdogan is no longer hiding his attempts to become a dictator.

given the recent re-armaments and stationing of NATO troops on its eastern flank, you ever get the feeling one day we'll wake up to the news NATO and more specifically the US has launched a preemptive strike at Russia and has invaded?

Why the Middle East is so powerful and volatile and ruled the world for 1000 years 1000-2000 years ago

Requesting information on the situation in turkey

Specifically what the people there think of russia

When is world war 3 Middle East showdown going to start in Egypt or Israel or Iran or Iraq or Afghanistan....?

Turkey currently seems to be a godsend for both Putin and Erdogan, given the current climate in the Middle East.

Both have common enemies in the Kurds who are fighting for independence against both Turkey and Assad, who is pro-Putin. It will also secure Russia's access to the Mediterranean, as Russia has recently secured the port of Sevastopol in the invasion of Crimea, and now access through the Bosphorus as Erdogan seems to be going pretty pro-Putin.

This will help Russia's projection of power into the Middle East, which is all part of Russia's grand strategy of wooing Iran by installing pro-Iranian governments in Syria and Iraq. This will allow Russia to secure their oil pipeline projects that will give them influence Europe, and also may allow Russia to build a port in the Persian Gulf, giving them access to warm water and power over the strategic strait of Hormuz, one of the most important in the world.

I highly doubt it, although it may happen; General Sir Richard Shireff, Deputy Nato Supreme Allied Commander for Europe and British General wrote a book in which he stated that war with Russia may break out in 2017.

Currently, though, it seems mostly that it's just Russia and NATO showing each other that they still have fight in them, and a warning not to do anything too outrageous.

Anyone here?

Can you redpill me on why everyone thinks Erdogan is corrupt, havent followed that stuff at all
Sure western media says so but they say a lot of things.

yep

How did the Syrias war started?

Moar liek "anyone queer"? (OP, amirite?)

I agree with you, except I wouldn't say Putin or Russia see the Kurds as an inherent enemy since by and large for most of the Syrian conflict the Kurds have been neutral to Assad until recently. They've provided aid but just to piss off Turkey as a bargaining chip. I don't think Putin gives a shit unless they seriously threaten to break apart from Syria, Turkey,Iran and Iraq.
I see him opposing that or doubling down to have them friendly to Russia should things with Turkey not work out.

Not bad

How long do we have until Ukraine and the US take back Crimea? They'll never let Russia keep it.

>How long do we have until Ukraine and the US take back Crimea? They'll never let Russia keep it.

Lol. Been watching CNN much, lad?

When will the WWIII start?

Doubt that'll happen. Reason being, the Caucuses. Those mountains are natural barriers, plus some neutral nations in between. Fighting through mountains is slow and a logistical pain not remotely ideal for tanks and other vehicles. It always favors the defender.

No, I'm just saying that Ukraine has vowed to take it back, and there's been some build-up on both sides lately. It's in the cards chief.

Not sure if I understand the question, but I'll try to answer anyway.

The Middle East has always had massive cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity which makes it a very delicate place on the stage of world politics. For most of their history, specifically around the times of the great Caliphates of the Middle Ages, the Middle East has been ruled by a figure that has been both Iron-Fisted and also able to grant autonomy outside of cities.

To elaborate, you have to understand the feudal system. People didn't travel much, which meant that most people were isolated in their villages surrounded by people of the same culture, religion, and ethnicity. Even though the Caliphates themselves were diverse, most people didn't experience a great deal of diversity personally, which kept infighting to a minimum. Sure there were still times one group would fight another, or when the Government would denounce a certain group, but the system just worked for hundreds of years, even into the Ottoman rule of the Middle East.

When the Ottoman Empire was carved up by France and Britain though, things changed. The Middle-Eastern nations we know today have arbitrarily drawn borders that do not take into account the differences of the people within one state, or the similarities of those in different states that are now separated and weakened. Democracy also meant that the people had become integral to the functioning of their new nations, when before they were happy to just sit on the side uninterrupted. People tended to vote for a party that represented their group and that oppressed other groups. To make things worse, people started travelling more with the introduction of trains, cars, and other Western things to the region. This has lead to the shitshow we now see.

This is very sloppily worded, but it should convey the idea in a rough sense. I'm mostly taking these thoughts and dictating them into writing directly without editing or structure, so sorry again.

do you know anything about chinas thoughts on the situation in the middle east?

xd?

Oh fuck I wish I wasn't leaving soon.

Since I won't be around for this, I'll ask for something you can teach other anons.

Redpill everyone on the Libya and Iraq conflicts, explain why America punished them for the gold standard switch, and why an isolationist policy is what America needs right now.

Not happening, short of a full-on world war in which Russia is decisively crushed and the people of Crimea are forced against their will to submit to Ukrainian governance. Crimea and Sevastopols' integration into Russia is a well-accomplished fact at this point.

whats happening to china? first time in decades they are not growing...

Crimea is such a vitally important part of Russia's foreign policy that it is hard to put it into words without rambling on for hours.

In short, Russia only has two major warm water ports, ports that do not freeze over during the winter. One is Vladivostok, located near Japan on the Pacific coast, and the other is Sevastopol which is in Crimea, and that, until recently, Russia leased from Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Government that allowed this lease to exist was overthrown in the Euromaiden ordeal and replaced with a pro-Western, anti-Russian one. Putin saw the risk that the lease of Sevastopol might end, and invaded to secure what is essentially an artery that helps Moscow thrive. Putin cannot let Sevastopol be lost, or he will be shamed in Russia for decades, if not centuries, to come. That is the significance of Sevastopol to Russia.

OP here, what do you guys think so far?

Gonna grab a drink and have a piss, this shit's pretty tiring.

It's not acknowledged as legitimate by Western powers. It will be taken back eventually.

I'm aware of its importance, I'm telling you that there is a desire to take it back from Russia and both sides have been amassing armies at their borders recently.

keep going op

...

Who is OP? Are you a Russian spy?

op here, cuckold pornstar

The war in Syria suddenly became severe just mere weeks after Libya collapsed due to western airstrikes and a sudden surge of support from dark corners for the Libyan opposition.. After things were in tatters in Libya, suddenly literally boatloads of weapons showed up in Syria.. Those weapons you see all of the Syrian opposition and ISIS using? Yep, most of it was fresh out of the Libyan armories. Look into the odd and sorted history of a ship named the Nour-M... It gives a clue to the actions and activities of the area around that time. You want the big red pill? Here: This is all about the dying empire that is the American empire.. In particular, the dying of our petrodollar, the true magic that powers and sustains our empire. Everyone is looking for who the bad guys and good guys are in all of this.. That's stupid and childish. The real world is not about good or evil, the real world is about what works and human nature. No good guys or bad guys. Just guys looking to get more pussy and burn their names into the ever shifting sands of time. Most people are just brain dead drooling apes that are looking to be told what to do and think.. Some of you are more than that to varying degrees.. A very, very few see it all for the bad joke it is and get their jollies in taking all the pussy and power. But as smart as you are, it means NOTHING if you have a problem with taking the life of a begging and crying innocent child if their death would advance your hold on power. Your intelligence means NOTHING if you ain't a vicious killer that nobody has any doubt would snuff them out in a eye blink if you needed to. Your vicious killer capability means little if you do not have the intelligence to manage and direct it. Balls and brains, you either got 'em or you don't, and nobody can explain it to you in a way that will make you a bad ass. If you gotta ask, you'll likely never know.

Libya was a BS conflict that France, UK, Italy, and Clinton advocated. They overstepped that UN mandate for a no fly zone. Since when does a no fly zone become a no drive zone? Was Libya technologically advanced enough to have flying cold war era tanks and vehicles?

State department emails on wiki leaks clearly show the state department knew of disenfranchised and radical elements in the Eastern province that includes Benghazi that could come into conflict given Libya was/still is tribal.

Add in his attempts to shape the African Union into a United States of Africa and wanting to accept only gold for oil rather than the petrodollar. He was seeking influence in way that made Libya less dependent on the West. Given the CIA's and MI6 long history of overthrowing governments whether democratic or not and old grudges of the past, it's not a stretch to think the war was started by the West taking advantage of the Arab spring.

>It's not acknowledged as legitimate by Western powers. It will be taken back eventually.
What exactly do you think they can do about it? outlined the stakes well enough, it would take a no-holds barred world war to get Russia to withdraw from there and turn it back over to the enemy. The Crimeans, for their part, prefer to remain Russian, and will for the foreseeable future unless their land is seized by enemies and they are subject to wholesale displacement or extermination like what was done in Germany's eastern lands following the Second World War.

What is the best country?

Don't forget that the media literally portrayed Hussein as the second coming of Hitler for trying to nationalize Iraqi assets.

These two conflicts should become focal points for those trying to understand American foreign policy, it's all about trying to maintain American hegemony.

The earth is flat. Take the red pill

Transnistria.

Islam

What do you think really started the Arab spring? A self immolating fruit cart vendor was the known spark, but somebody laid out all of the fuel...

Saw reports that Transnistria has moved to bring all of their laws into alignment with the Russian Republics.. You know anything more about that?

Sri Lanka

Arthur C Clark took his money and bailed from USA & Europe and went to fucking live there the rest of his life, for a better quality of life and a more decent stable peaceful society for fucks sake. What the fuck... Sri Lanka? Is it still nice? Has it been ransacked by religious assholes yet? Does some cocking asshole wannabe-empire nation like china or britain hold it for ransom? What is up. I could google it, but it'll be more interesting to hear what you have to say.

bump

thread life support till op gets back

Clap clap clap

Exactly. Any time any nation with vast oil reserves tries to nationalize their resources they demonized by the West.

Iran 1953 operation Ajax. The CIA and MI6 overthrew the democratically elected leader Mosaddegh. He nationalized their oil so his countrymen would get their fair share of profits rather than the UK. We overthrew him and installed the Shah. This is the main reason Iran is hostile towards the US.

2004, failed coup against Chavez democratically elected first term. He did the same thing.

Didn't Hussein want Euros instead of dollars?

Did OP get assassinated by the secret service?

It started with the Sykes-Picot agreement, carving up the middle east and pitting the factions against each other. While a practical solution for western interests at the time, it began a downward spiral there is no escape from.

Add lots of easy oil and some ecological issues and you've got a recipe for disaster.

I think Tunisia was the only genuine Arab spring revolution.

I honestly can only speculate rather than point to fact. Give me a minute rethink about it.

(Not OP, just faggot who jokingly declared Transnistria best country.) That's been in the works for a long time, actually. I'll admit I haven't followed the situation with baited breath, but they basically had a Crimea-style referendum ten-ish years ago or so, with about the same overwhelming percentage of the population voting to be assimilated into Russia.

I have not actually heard what the Russian government's formal response to the recent developments has been, though. Whether it will be annexed any time in the near future is another question. It very well could be, there's no doubt the Russians have been preparing for that eventuality, but is it really crucial to risk further escalating the geopolitical situation hot on the heels of the Crimean controversy and right in the middle of Russia trying to give proof-of-concept of its ability to be a patron and protector to Middle Eastern states? Just because they request to be formally integrated into Russia doesn't mean the request will be granted, at least right away. Donetsk asked to become part of Russia early on in the Donbass War, and was met with a calculated non-response from Putin.

>Free Redpills on certain issues you don't understand, free of bias.
>Crimea?
>The Middle East?
>Turkey?

Those are just the 3 main things that have been on american news.

If I wanted to know about those, there's no shortage of half-baked information anyone could get by watching TV.

What's going on with Kashmir? The myriad birds nest of foreign policy implications of an increasingly adamant Hong Kong, with its newest parlimentary member, against China? How has India been dealing with those fucking Paki's? How pissed is China that India's about to overshadow their economy in the next decade?

WHAT THE FUCK EVER HAPPENED TO GREECE???

Does Italy still have a shadow economy 3x bigger than its on the books economy? Is spain still a modern ruin? When was the last time anyone but New Zealand gave a flying fuck about Australia? How do the cool Papua New Guineans last with China getting grabby in their neighborhood again? How does South Korea feel about China these days? Do they form an alliance with east asia to limit Chinese ambition from expansion, & how edgy is Japan again?

How can we make Russia break down and die?

Fuck off, ILLary Clinton

S. Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, & Bangladesh should form a union, each becoming states, and prop each other up. ...and enforce a perimeter around China.

...fucking jesus that union would be unstoppable.

That would be terrifying, economically.
No way the US would sit by and allow that.

You know, living next to Russia isn't exactly fun and they're occupying a large part of my country.

Russia is not, nor has ever been your enemy.
Quit fucking with them.

What is Ahh lep po?

oh kek

didn't know they had a lot of internet coverage in mongolia

come fags

Excepting the fact that not every single one of those exact countries are a part of it, the U.S. basically DOES that, with the caveat that it remains the presiding geopolitical partner of each of them.

the sound you make when trying to put it in from behind, and you accidently slip off one knee and come back down and put it in her ass instead.

kek
>US does that
>except well actually it does the opposite of that

and would shit its pants if they upset this apple cart in favor of one that puts their own interests over US interests

OK, if I had to hazard a guess. I'd say the Arabs are tired of being stepped on. By and large the Middle East and North Africa nations are still haunted from the effects of colonial rule and the polarized geopolitical playing field of either your under western hemogeny, or that of Russia or China. If you're not and have some strategic importance you will be forced into one of the camps whether by force, economically, or any other means.

Within the nation's affected by the Arab spring, all dictatorships or monarchy; the majority of the population is disenfranchised and in some way or another some benefit many don't and are put in their place just as the nation's are on the international level. Some genuinely want democracy. Many will join the fight under the premise the enemy of my enemy is my friend. This is magnified because of their former colonial masters that used methods to divide and conquer to rule. Further emphasis on ties to a tribe, culture, or religious sect make everything worse. The people feel more loyalty toward these things than towards the idea of shared nation since it has let them down since colonial rule ended.

>Russification of Finland
>Winter War
>Continuation War
>Cold War
>Occupation of Finnish territories
Sure. I bet those few hundred Russian special forces stationed here are on vacation too and in no way preparing an invasion.

>By and large the Middle East and North Africa nations are still haunted from the effects of colonial rule and the polarized geopolitical

>m-muh ebil white colonialisms
>muh blameless peaceful muslims

Have you ever been to the Grand Canyon? I'd highly recommend that you go there and jump in.

>top kake at Erdogan going pro-Putin
>Putin not being pro arabs
>Putin no giving a fuck about a muslim state
>Putin mad after they destroyed a russian plane
>Putin mad at oil money

Erdogan better suck his dick if he wants his country to go normal.

Oh, and let's not talk about Armenia and Russia's position when it comes to turk denyalfags.

>and enforce a perimeter around China.
Guy who originally brought it was was talking about its purpose being to
>enforce a perimeter around China.

Which is precisely the underlying what and why of U.S.'s partnerships with many of the states he mentioned. And also, why would those states ever do that? It wouldn't be "terrifying" so much as a very similar geopolitical configuration to what exists at present, but less stable, lacking American backing, and just having a pissed off America AND China at their doorsteps (plus very likely India, Indonesia, and/or Russia as well depending on how they operated). Also no nuclear powers in the proposed bloc, and they'd have Taiwan in the mix as a direct snub to nuclear-armed China, but now without the Americans to protect them. It would be a shitshow of almost unimaginable proportions, and would almost certainly collapse due to infighting without much encouragement from the Americans or Chinese in less than five years anyway.

Colonialism isn't exclusive to white people ass hole, don't be full of yourself. I clearly said speculation not fact. I also never said Muslim's were peaceful asshole, it's a religion founded in war.

Look at the former Japanese empire.

What do you call Chinese occupation of Tibet? Colonialism has a negative connotation now a days. I'm sure we have a better politically correct term.

What happened to OP?

Not sure, but I ran out of old vids to bump thread with. He's probably not coming back, you know how OPs be.

Yeah I figured as much. I was curious what OP thought of my answer to his question that the one asshole ridiculed into a simple binary for his small brain and attention span.

Sup Forums is really about the worst forum for something like this imaginable, not because "Sup Forums is shit harhar" but because of the three hundred-comment bump limit, likelihood of 404ing after ten minutes of inactivity, and two thousand-character limit on individual posts. I'm actually amazed this thread went as well as it did.

Final bump for OP, before let thread die.

Agreed, I think this would have been better in pol.

Maybe, maybe not. I think it would have been more likely to fall into a chaotic din of anons taking potshots at each other and spamming "Jews did X" memes, as is the custom in those lands. Everyone on Sup Forums at least fancies themselves an expert on "redpilling" generally, so an OP coming along with a thread like this may not have aroused the sincere interest and discussion it did here, however shortlived it was.
