Hey, are you music nerds enjoying the vinyls resurgence as much as i am?

Hey, are you music nerds enjoying the vinyls resurgence as much as i am?

our generation sure loves vinyls!

The amount of Lana Del Rey in this image makes me physically ill

I don't care for collecting vinyl, but I can't say it's any more embarrassing than collecting YouTube screenshots of teenagers collecting vinyl

I enjoy it but it's ridiculous I have to pay upwards of 25 dollars for a brand new record and almost everything new is on 180g vinyl now.

I'd listen to Depression Cherry with Chloe Belle

I fucking love vinyls--and not to be a hipster, but I've been collecting em since 2014. I've got some pretty rare vinyls in my collection, too, Chelsea Wolfe, Neutral Milk Hotel...

Question for all my fellow mutants: what do you do if a normie looks at your vinyls like "why are these CDs so big??"

Had a normie say that to me the other day and my sides literally went into orbit lol.

>That one picture of Anthony Fantano

This honestly makes me angrier than it should

what a retarded fucking fad. why would i want to spend 5000 dollars on a whole sound system, then spending 18 dollars for one record, and having to maintain the records, knowing it will be unplayable in a few year?

>not to be a hipster
>since 2014
youre not a hipster, youre a wannabe hipster, which is even worse

Honestly if I had a shitload of disposable income I would definitely collect vinyl and have a big comfy underground room with them all on display like a cosy record store. Would probably never listen to em either, I just like the idea of having physical copies to look at etc. Sadly I'm probably poor4life because I never tried.

I certainly wouldn't upload videos of me talking about it on YT tho

> tried to get into vinyl about 10 - 15 years ago
> fuck all for records available
> turntables were either cheap junk or too expensive
> took it up again about a year ago
> 2nd hand Rega table
> 1st years record collection
> recently add a couple Beatles records and Lateralus
With thousands of mp3 files available in my pocket, I found myself developing musical A.D.D. Vinyl helped me slow down.

what are you looking for? validation? do you want us to tell you that you have great taste and that you're superior to your friends because you give a shit about a certain media format?

are any of these vidoes good?

yeah, the video just above the bottom right corner video :^)

I want to make a super epic vinyls collection but I don't want to show my face to the camera

*Video

I enjoy binge watching these videos and laughing about their shit taste. Then I jerk my self off from sheer pretentiousness.

>fantano

this would be a great idea if...

instead of youtube it was porntube and they were all getting bukkaked in the middle of their record collections and then they cried and collapsed and the excess semen spilled all over whatever nearby vinyl seems comforting to them, perhaps lana del rey perhaps kany west

bump

Collecting vinyl is only legit/cool if you collect records that were originally released on vinyl, because then at least you're buying the more "authentic" version of the album, so in a way it means something.

Buying vinyl albums of any modern music is ridiculous because you're literally just paying extra money, and losing all of the modern convenience of CD/mp3 just for an aesthetic.

is this bait

Hook, line, and sinker.

>what do you do if a normie looks at your vinyls like "why are these CDs so big??"
They wouldn't even be in my home if I knew there was a chance that this would be their reaction

This picture makes me ashamed to own vinyl records.
