Music Pleb Red Flags

>only listening to one genre of music
>only listening to one subgenre within a genre of music
>claiming to be a big fan but only knowing the most popular songs from said artist or band
>admitting to only listening to what is popular
>listening to club music and mixes outside of a club
>not listening to a song because it's "old"

not liking David Bowie

liking david bowie

putting pop rock on a pedestal because it's "classic"

All correct.
>not listening to new cause its new
>"musicians were so much more talented in the [insert decade era here]"
>saying all forms of electronic music are talentless and just pressing play on a laptop
>refusing to listen to an artist because they're "mainstream"
>passionate, legitimate hate for an artist just cause you don't like their music

decade era
>decade/era*

>imply OP likes David Bowie because he used a David Bowie gif
>implying OP didn't use the gif because it's music related
>implying the OP didn't use the gif because it represents his reaction and emotions at the moment of interacting with a music pleb

When did Sup Forums become even more shit?

>liking david bowie
>liking the beatles
>liking radiohead

>listening to music for feels
>listening to music to relate to it
>listening to music as background sound

>>passionate, legitimate hate for an artist just cause you don't like their music

So many people think I hate Rihanna because her music is terrible. How can I hate a person I never interacted with or met?

I'm sure she's a cool person irl.

>Waits for lyrics
>Considers Tom Waits "experimental"
>Doesn't listen an artist because he's not charismatic/handsome/beautiful
>Doesn't listen an artist because he/she has different point of view on politics/race/etc.
And pretty much everything by OP

where did you even get the assumption that gif OP used in anyway relevant to anything that's been said in the thread?

>Not using music as a background sound

What, am I supposed to listen to the sound of a computer, the buzzing of lightbulbs, or the chirping of crickets or cicadas? Fuck off faggot.

I agree with your other points.

>thinking Yeezus is a bad album because someone else said it's bad
>thinking TLOP is Kanye's best album
>not thinking MBDTF is Kanye's best album
>claiming to be a huge fan of hip-hop and not knowing who Black Thought or The Roots are
>unironically listening to trap or drill

>I'm sure she's a cool person irl.
She can't fight for shit though.

>listens to "best of (genre)" playlists
>"coltrain, Davis, the list goes on..."
>likes an artist for how they look (yes that includes you waifufags)
>doesn't think any music is influential outside of the Beatles

Did she lose a fight to poison oak?

>thinking post-Barrett Pink Floyd are anything but mediocre.

>being a Beatlesfag
Seriously, neck yourself if you are. You'll be doing the world a favor.

>Puts a song on
>It doesn't have a rap verse
like what actually is even the point

>listening to rap/hip hop

>skips tracks
I-its not me i assure you

>thinks you can be a fan of music without listening to classical

>listening to club music and mixes outside of a club
Know someone who does this
Just how much of a turbo pleb do you have to be

>not listening to club music and mixes outside of a club

what the hell is that Thom Yorke?

>What are some others Sup Forums can think about?
Namefagging/Tripshitting on Sup Forums.

>Using "old as the title for a genre"
>Will not listen to songs that are longer then 4 minutes
>Pays for music
>Dislikes Dylan's voice

>Likes Dylan's voice
ftfy

You obviously have not heard his album "Nashville Skyline", which is potentially the best country album of all time. his voice is majestic on it.

BTFO pleb

>he likes Dylan
>he likes pop music

>Dylan
>Pop

choose one

Dylan is objectively pop music

>''Popular music is music with wide appeal that is typically distributed to large audiences through the music industry. These forms and styles can be enjoyed and performed by people with little or no musical training. It stands in contrast to both art music and traditional or "folk" music. Art music was historically disseminated through the performances of written music, although since the beginning of the recording industry, it is also disseminated through recordings. Traditional music forms such as early blues songs or hymns were passed along orally, or to smaller, local audiences.''

I mean he is popular if that is what you are saying?
But if you are going to infer that pop music is bad and use that definition, then that would mean as soon as something gains mainstream notice it becomes bad, which seems rather silly...

But I would not call the genre's dylan has dabbled in "pop" music except in some cases.

I would agree with that definition up until the first sentence ends. It is entirely logically possible for an unskilled person to play Bach or Beethoven, does that make them pop music? And as for the historical part, I don't see why that should be part of the definition?

>They listen to music I don't like

I'll never understand the pleb mindset

>confusing IDM with EDM
>"yeah sure bra put it on I totally dig that"
>"umm I gotta go now"

Let me remind you that Brian Eno and our overlord Fripperino played with him.

Sure thing buddy. Let me know when your precious Grimes, Beyonce, Taylor Swift makes something even remotely resembling this:
youtu.be/mYajHZ4QUVM
Not to mention Desolation Row.

so what? eno also produced coldplay albums

I'm aware of that, but that's not the music he'd make. At least he has that going for him.

>being so narrow-minded that you judge people who listen to "club music and mixes outside of a club"
>being obsessed with your own status as a musical "patrician"

go back to /bleep/

ok :(

>regularly uses phrases like "trap influenced beats"

>Implying you have to listen to those artists in order to know that Dylan is a pop act.
wew

>cares about labeling people as plebs

>"if they're so good, why haven't i heard of them"

>enjoying the music they listen to

>listening to a type of genre for the sake of identity and fitting in, and not because he actually likes the sound
ie. most of Sup Forums
>doesn't exclusively listen to Mötley Crüe
