Is there any other songs that sound like Sister Ray?

nothing as good, so just get as many live versions as you can
Parquet Courts deep cut coming through. Obviously not as good, but it's got a similar vibe and I love it. youtube.com
If you like the organ sound, listen to The Modern Lovers' s/t
some stereolab songs, especially this album
Someone please explain the appeal of Sister Ray. It's overly long, so noisy it's nearly unlistenable, and I don't remember hearing any remarkable musical moments.
Obvious answer right here.
All two or three chord rockers. John Cale produced. Exact same keyboard tone and style. Silly detached vocals.
ahahaha, pleb.
>Someone please explain the appeal of Sister Ray
>It's overly long, so noisy
Looks like you answered your own question
Now kys
nice to see you dont even know that you like it and only convince yourself its good to fit in
Quote me where I said I liked it or not
The Modern Lovers are great, but they have no lengthy noisy songs like Sister Ray.
it's very climactic in its manic rawness
Thanks for explaining.
Just listen to the album twice as loud, user.
Sister Ray isn't some avante garde masterpiece. It's just a primitive loud as fuck garage stomper that goes on forever. And I mean that in the way that I 100% agree it's a 10/10/
Yep no problem
Obvious answer

it's just so hideous as a song
the lyrics are incredibly dumb
it sounds like a fax machine
it seems like it never ends
but its such a fun song to listen to especially with others who can appreciate it like you do
Sister Ray: a deafening black mass, an incantation of voices and instruments in a trance, perhaps the greatest masterpiece in all of rock music. This epic snake slithers for seventeen minutes without a moment's pause, with a throbbing beat (Maureen Tucker has every the right to list herself among the best drummers in rock history), with distorted and hissing guitar phrasing comprised of vehement assaults and soft whispers in counterpoint, with the continuous electric martyrdom of Cale, and with the acutely spirited voice of a stuttering Reed, epileptic and possessed. The tremendous accelerating beat and the spasms of emotional neurosis that shatter it from top to bottom reach sound levels and emotional intensity never before accomplished in music. The snake unfolds like a long sabbath, a ritualistic dance, a happening of collective self-destruction in a continuous eruption of gasps, psychopathic spasms, perverse violence, and obsessive delirium - a pulsating heap of sounds that explode in every direction, a dissonant hurricane of such violence as to uproot the entire civilization of music, a dramatic jubilation of enraged anguish, a mystical anarchic liberation of primordial instincts, a psychoanalytic session of automatic writing, an expansion of consciousness, an ode to the chaos of the metropolis, an anthem to universal insanity.

Are you talking about Sex Bomb?
yeah i meant to link it
It's the pinnacle of rock music.
A primal clusterfuck of sounds with no pretention that somehow still innovates because of its raw primitivism.
>no pretention
The Velvet Underground was one of the most pretentious bands of the 60s
I don't really get the hype either
The only real thing it was innovative in was weirdness
While songs like The Gift and I Heard Her Call My Name are pretty pretentious, Sister Ray is just some dudes playing the same 2 chords during 17 minutes while Cale has a stroke while playing organ.
