I got a copyright notice for torrenting a movie. Have any of you ever gotten a notice for downloading music?

Personally no, but my shared internet connection did. Only once, but it was for specifically downloading alot of data. I'm conscious that some day I will get a notice for downloading both movies and music.

I have no idea if it's different in the US though, I live in the UK so maybe they are a little less strict when it comes to downloading movies and music.

I live in Canada, which is quite lax when it comes to copyright enforcement—but ISPs are required to pass on the notices they receive from rightsholders.

I've downloaded a shit ton of music over the years and never gotten a notice; have downloaded fewer movies, however, and that's what got me.

I've downloaded a shit ton of films in the past two years, but it's mostly obscure shit and 70s b-movies. As for music it's fairly the same, I don't want to be one of the idiots who justifies downloading music but I use Spotify, buy CDs and Records and see my favourite bands live as much as I possibly can. And even then, I'm not exactly downloading normie shit that could get me into trouble.

do you fags seriously not know to only download from encrypted peers?

Just use Usenet for movies and tv shows, my sweet-natured friend. And wow, wouldn't you believe it, there's porn, ebooks, music, games, audiobooks, all kinds of things on there too! Not to mention Soulseek's vast library...

I didn't get a notice, my ISP just turned off my service and all pages said my account has been disabled and to call them. They turned it back on after I called and said I wouldn't do it anymore. It was for downloading a tv show season. I've only used private trackers since then with no issues.

Seems like a awfully shadey shill you cooked up there user. Why do you want people to use it?

what show?

South Park

Lol. I remember when I was younger and I torrented SO MUCH music that I became paranoid. I would see ISP/cable trucks parked on the street outside my house and I thought they were monitoring me

I wish I was joking. I became extremely paranoid for some reason. Like I was having panic attacks. No joke.

Never had that issue, but I stopped downloading television or films A LONG time ago, literally everything is stream-able for free (I don't mean like Netflix, I've literally never even seen what that site layout looks like, it is a website right?)

That said, music I've probably done 1TB at minimum (but that's over ten years), but never had any issues, of course I use soulseek nowadays, not torrents

Never had any fear of consequences t b h, I live in Canada though (but I did live in the US for three years when I was heavily doing this sort of thing and never worried there either)

I also torrented a lot of other stuff over the years that nobody gives a shit about like software and comics

Also, I got to throw in a special shoutout to Limewire for getting me into bestiality as a kid when I was just trying to download some music, really taught me to be open minded about porn preferences even though I'm now like the least sexual person ever, but for a decade, I was really into that stuff

shieeeeet

I was too young to understand what Limewire was so I remember trying to download Finding Nemo and I got horse bestiality porn. If it wasn't worse enough, being the simple kid I was, I played it to my friend without opening it beforehand. The nightmares.

Was it the one with the chick bent over in some barn or something and the horse mounts her pale white ass and rams it for like thirty seconds before the horse cums and she's screaming and stuff

Because that was one of my first as well, I have a lot of nostalgia for that video even though I haven't seen it in over ten years

Same but no panic attack sort of thing and replace trucks with the FBI. Are you generally pretty paranoid?

Yes it was and now you brought the memories back. Damn you!

No. This was when I was young and didn't know much about piracy and how it is (and is not) dealt with. I was paranoid because I was thinking prison was a possibility for me (didn't know juvie was a thing).

>downloading something from an artist or company that makes content that you enjoy enough to download
>not supporting them and paradoxically damaging them for making content you enjoy
Degenerate please exit

>what is having a single mother who worked to just pay off rent
I'm wasn't going to forgo listening to good music just because I couldn't afford.

>when you were a seriously underage b& and didn't know any better at the time limewire and kazaa were popping and you downloaded some cheese pizza where they were a few years younger than you

Because I want them to enjoy the ratioless, no-chance-of-ever-getting-into-troubleness Usenet I have. I have Newsbin (with search engine), Newsdemon, and Tweaknews as backup (for those tricky file pieces). It's a minimal cost, and you can get as much as you want if you get the right account from Newsdemon. Don't use Astraweb though, it's shit now, too many missing filepieces. Really, it'll help you masturbate and cum all over your hairy belly. Hard.

That's what torrenting does to you, use Soulseek and Usenet for zero paranoia.

I mean I never torrent now 'cause I have everything I want and also stream stuff. This was when I was a young kid. Not remotely paranoid anymore.

>also stream stuff
idiot

Deep feelings like that in childhood will affect your brain for life. Enjoy the risperdal and man-titties!

What's wrong with streaming sites?

The archive usually has what I need. Doubt you can get in trouble for using mega.
