Metal. I dont specifically hate the idea of metal, but it is executed so goddamn poorly in general. Its the same shot over and over for the most part. It is definitely the genre with the least ingenuity (at best).
I have a theory that the majority of metal "fans" are only "fans" so that they can call themselves "metalheads" etc. The entire genre survives on preference falsification imo. The worst part is that most of them dont know it, and it is a largely subconscious phenomena.
If you mention the homogenity of metal to /metal/ they will agree with you and then blindly serve as charicatures of the very stereotype i am putting forth. It doesnt speak much to the intellect of the fanbase desu senpai.

Death Metal, Black Metal, and Grindcore tend to be the biggest culprits as far as i can tell.
Im judging the music by the music, but the fanbase is a mechanism that perpetuates the staleness of the genre via a form of complacency.
This is ironically a moot point for a reason similar to what the other guy was talking about. Being hard to play doesnt make a song "good". Regardless of your personal opinions, "Seven Nation Army" is widely considered a good, catchy song, and it is also the first song most people learn to playon the guitar. By contrast, as difficult as it may be to play "Flight of the Bumblebee", most people do not have it in their music libraries. I can see you respecting the genre for its technicality, but i would still argue that the genre as a whole is a copy of a copy of itself.
