Madonna is a genuinely superb pop artist if you just ignore everything after the Immauculate Collection. I've found that's a pretty good rule of thumb in general actually. Try to avoid any music which an artist puts out after their first greatest hits album. It's not perfect but it fits in most cases.

COADF and Music are ok, though.

are you gay user?

Of course. Can straight people appreciate Madonna?

Yeah. I like her first album and Ray of Light.

Oh yes. How could I forgot RoL? It's her best album by far

oh i just thought you were trying to be contrarian

Paradise (Not for me) is so underrated, it hurts.

music was a cool album. i love the song too. it's crazy how steep the decline was from confessions to hard candy was though, like i've never seen a bigger downgrade from anyone until usa went from obama to trump

>it's crazy how steep the decline was from confessions to hard candy was
Totally. I'd like to understand what happened with her. Did she just stop caring at all?

so true, when hard candy came out i went through a denial phase

evidently and what's worse is that the quality has never recovered :( Sad! but at least rebel heart was a solid 50% listenable as opposed to maybe 20% with the 2 before it

she started trying too hard after that

Madonna [Sire, 1983]

In case you bought the con, disco never died--just reverted to the crazies who thought it was worth living for. This shamelessly ersatz blonde is one of them, and with the craftily orchestrated help of a fine selection of producers, remixers, and DJs, she's come up with a shamelessly ersatz sound that's tighter than her tummy--essence of electro, the D in DOR. At first I thought the electroporn twelve-inch that pairs "Burning Up" with "Physical Attraction" was the way to go, but that was before she'd parlayed the don't-let-me-down vagueness of "Borderline" into a video about interracial love (sex, I mean) and a sneaky pop hook simultaneously. At one stiff per four-song side, smarter than Elvis Costello. A-

Most contemporary reviews of her debut album were negative and criticized everything from her voice to her bubblegum lyrics to making a disco record in 1983. Christgau was just about the only guy who got it right and thought Madonna was going to go places.

Yeh but good luck discussing her shit on this white male rockist board.

Madonna's s/t and Ray of Light are among the greatest albums of all time, in any genre

Bedtime Stories?
