My mom and dad only watch movies once every 3 or 4 years, they saw both Avatar and Titanic in theaters. His movies are cultural events. No other director has these anymore.
Terminator 2 was just a fun action movie to me.
But then I watched it with a commentary by him. And just listening to him talk and explain his thoughts and visions for the movie.... I appreciated what a true genius he is.
