Which artists/bands, without memeing, do you think have had the biggest influence on music, popular or unpopular, over the past decade?
Pic related, I'm not necessarily saying he's the most influential artist of the last decade, but it's probably fair to say that he's been one of the biggest influences on popular music in recent years. Also, his music's been pretty experimental by top 40 standards.

As far as the 2010s go you just posted it
bump
varg
im convinced that AnCo is ahead of their time because you can barely find contemporaries that sound a little similar
grimes, mia -> death grips -> kanye west, beyonce, bowie, etc
>grimes
yeah, everybody sounds like them now but who was doing AnCo in the 2004? nobody but AnCo. They sound more like the 2010s then the 2000s and their music was mostly made in the 2000s
elaborate
>grimes
literally who
who sounds a lot like anco now?
cause i'd listen to that
>grimes
exactly who has grimes influenced?
>Probably tylo be chillin
fuck i miss this meme
I'm agree with if we don't count only 2010-present
what does this prove?
...
dont forget to put Panda bear before the [grimes/mia] slot then
from grimes:
>Panda Bear – Person Pitch (2007)
>I was walking around in Montreal with this in my headphones, and I had only just started making music. I completely tripped out because the way the songs are formatted allows you to hear how Panda Bear is building songs out of loops.
>Up until that point I had basically only made weird atonal drone music, with no sense of songwriting. I barely understood anything about music, it seemed like a mystery. But suddenly all music clicked into place and seemed so simple and easy. I was pretty much able to spontaneously write songs immediately after listening to this album once. I guess it seriously jumpstarted my mind in a freaky way.
you can definitely hear the PP influence in geidi primes
>dont forget to put Panda bear before the [grimes/mia] slot then
i didn't put it because i can't hear the anco influence in mia's music, it's kinda death grips centered because death grips itt are expected
plus anco were on their highest moments before this decade started
>you can definitely hear the PP influence in geidi primes
she basically said:
>I heard Person Pitch, then I made Grimes
Kanye West
Drake
Justin Bieber
probably the biggest "influential" names
nobody does... anyways you cant just say "sounds like anco". Which era of Anco?
Atoms for Peace/Radiohead:

His influence is already noticeable.
In years to come way more people will realize how much AnCo has impacted music.
wildflower sucks
>skinny puppy
>current year

Why are you giving a fuck about Grimes influencing literally who shitty internet artists?
Kanye is objectively more influential than the lolrandom wacky cumdumpster.
flume
Elton John:

>a person who was influenced by a shitty internet artist is objectively more influential than a person who influenced that shitty internet artist
it's at least not objectively
I listened to a guy named keepaway today, definitely sounded similar to anco

Not exactly but this band reminds me of them a little
I wouldn't say Kanye had "influence", he just had an "impact", meaning he made several popular hits and all but didn't do anything new and no one was really influenced by his songs.
>Every rap album scurrying to imitate his style.
>Drake's whole shtick effectively being 808s and Heartbreak
> Since Late Registration Kanye has a new sound for each album.
Yeah, you're right.
r u dum?
as far as EDM is concerned this is objectively correct. He is the reason for future bass to exist, which by extension is the reason for tracks like closer by the chainsmokers, in the name of love by martin garrix and starving by grey to make the top 20
