How much do you guys pay total for health insurance + pension + city tax + income tax in a year?
I've been going over this year's (second year in Japan) budget and have realized I'll be paying around 200万円 for those taxes + rent. Which doesn't sound right.
That leaves me just over 100万円 for food, other expenses (clothing, etc.) and savings.
I need to save about 75万円 for changing jobs and moving apartments this year - I was also planning on buying an engagement ring, but all of that seems impossible with these crippling taxes.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull spoke with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe over the phone on Monday night about the attack and the lives lost.
Mr Turnbull offered his condolences to his Japanese counterpart for the death of the 25-year-old Japanese national who was killed when a man drove into crowds in Melbourne on Friday.
The man was one of five people who died, while more than 30 were injured.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Melbourne declined to identify the Japanese man because his family have not consented to release details.
But they say they have offered assistance to his family.
When asked if the man's body would stay in Australia or be taken back to Japan, a spokesman said it was a "private issue".
