>albums made by females have a strong female influence
really makes you think...

>can be either by a female or by a band with female members
not that hard to understand when MBV is the first album on the chart desu

Rarely listen to female vocalists, but really liked this album in 2016. Also only recently realized the title is a reference to a No Doubt album.

Alan Parsons Project - Eve

...

Abyss - Chelsea Wolfe
Blackout - Britney Spears (Unironically)
Sometimes I Sit And Thinks, And Sometimes I Just Sit - Courtney Barnett

>MBV
>strong female influence
Nigga the chicks barely did anything for that recording. Due to circumstances, Shields had to play most of the instruments himself except the drum dude who used a sampler.

This, with this we already have a 10/10 chart.

just an update still adding more
plenty of room left

...

White Noise - An Electric Storm
Laurel Halo - Quarantine
Janelle Monae - The ArchAndroid
FKA Twigs - LP1
Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill

lorde sucks tho

I don't know what you mean by female influence. Pure Heroine is the first album I see that isn't really influenced by being female, among others

FKA Twigs - LP1
The Raincoats - s/t
ACO - Irony
Hole - Live Through This
Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas
MIA - Kala
Neneh Cherry - Raw Like Sushi

strong female influence = female had huge part in working on the project or was the sole creator

The Carter Family, Elizabeth Cotten and Bessie Smith all need spots on here. So does Patti Smith.

>strong female influence = female had huge part in working on the project or was the sole creator

Also there was a lot of influence on Massive Attack's Blue Lines from Shara Nelson and Neneh Cherry

...

...

Well then I don't see why you're making this chart except to be sexist. Great albums don't need to be categorized by the artist being a woman.

...

...

rainer maria - past worn searching

>specifically giving albums by female artists praise in an industry where they are overlooked
>sexism

Nice try. You're obviously trying to rationalize your misogyny. Go back to Sup Forums.

If I was Sup Forums I would demand you to make a great male-produced music chart

whatever, i like this album

rateyourmusic.com/release/album/青葉市子/0/

>great albums
>Loveless

No, she doesn't. The fact that you dislike her doesn't make her untalented. She's objectively a true artists, especially to her age.

alrite things are starting to fill in nicely but theres some room left. if i get a ton more i can add spots

Pure Heroine IS influenced by being a female among a range of other topics.

m8 you forgot ke$ha

autism/repressed gender dysphoria thread

Lauryn Hill's a good representation of the not that common hip hop genre, and unlike many hip hop people she sang, rapped, and made the music all herself.

...

boris - dronevil
braids - native speaker
candy claws - ceres and calypso in the deep time
chromatics - kill for love

>no Carter Family compilation included yet
The most important country and folk recording artists deserve a spot.

FUGG YOU

this is the original size filled up
still on the fence if i should expand

>not a single mention of Portishead
The fuck is wrong with you people

where's this replace lorde people here don't actually actively listen to her

It's influenced by a young underage lust with the world, being free to chase whatever she's reaching for. It's from the perspective of a female but that doesn't play a big role in it. I think she realizes she has power equal to that of men and chooses to leave the subject alone

...

People here didn't actively listen to Frank Ocean this time last year

I see more talk about Lorde here than Madonna, Sade, Grace Jones, The Alan Parsons Project, Holly Herndon, ROMP, Kero Kero Bonito, Neneh Cherry, Stars, PUNK Girl, Mary J Blige (who I think is awesome) and The Chromatics.

>Mary J Blige (who I think is awesome)
Guy who posted My Life here.

You're cool with me, man.

Blue, Homogenic, My Life, Miseducation, and I Am A Bird all on one chart....

....I fucking love this.

...

Sup Forums doesn't actively listen to Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige, Madonna, Róisín Murphy, etc. but that doesn't deny the fact that they created great albums with an obvious female focus, also, why do you keep insisting in removing Lorde when she has made a notorious impact in mainstream 2010s female pop?, she's worthy of this space.

You know what I think?, that you are not a feminist yet you like Lorde or at least Pure Heroine hence you refuse to acknowledge the obvious feminist remarks in it's core.

>I'm just a Dead Boy
>female pop

kek

good one (1) my dude

even they would understand how pointless that is

Fuck, Sup Forums...

>no Stereolab
youtu.be/hxywNDPKPJQ

>no Hiatus Kaiyote
youtu.be/Ozr4KsZBTvQ

>no Jamiroquai
youtu.be/Kjp1vPLkBBQ

Also this
Also I think you can get away with more than one Joni Mitchell album

Also no

don't undermine the importance of the vocals please. also keep off the grass

finally some love for the sundays on Sup Forums

yes fucking fill it up more

how is there no sonic youth or pixies?

also these

sonic youth - confusion is sex
ludus - the visit/the seduction
nara leao - dez anos depois
swans - white light from the mouth of infinity

>slowly turns to a tumblrcore chart
hmm

i discovered them after reading that mike kinsella modeled his vocals on the american football debut after them and the album blew me away instantly

absolutely fantastic band, in every aspect

Butcher and Googe didn't play guitar/bass respectively on the record. Shields played their parts, Shields wrote everything. Butcher does vocals for less than half the tracks. I am not undermining the importance of vocals, but having such a relatively small contribution when there are many more works of music that have a far larger female contribution and haven't made it on that chart is fucking ridiculous. Brittany Spears and Kero Kero Bonito shouldn't be on it either due to how small a part females played for those records to be a thing.

Ichiko Aoba - 0
Abba - Gold
Boris records
Cocteau Twins - Treasure
Ella Fitzgerald - Sings the Cole Porter Song Book
PJ Harvey - Let England Shake
Kero Kero Bonito - Bonito Generation
Joanna Newsom - Divers
Melt Banana - Cell Scape
The Knife - Silent Shout
Julien Baker - Sprained Ankle
Slowdive - Souvlaki

Chelsea Wolfe - Pain Is Beauty
Nico - Desertshore
Portishead - Third
Dead Can Dance - Within the Realm of a Dying Sun

replace Days Are Gone with Cat Power's Moon Pix
>Kero Kero Bonito shouldn't be on it either due to how small a part females played for those records to be a thing
?
Sarah is a third of the band for heavens sake

agoraphobic nosebleed - agorapocalypse

Aaaannnnddd....? Gus and Jamie are the actual creative masterminds behind the group that do most of the work. Rather than strong female influence it's the same shit that's been on the radio since forever (cute chick that sings while everything else is done by a bunch of guys) thus ruining the point of a chart like this.

>Gus and Jamie are the actual creative masterminds behind the group that do most of the work.
prove it
they have 2 people to write the instrumentals to every song while only 1 person writes the lyrics and vocals
I bet you're a bassist or something and just hate vocalists

You need
>Comus - First Utterance
>Tune-Yards - Whokill
>Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca
>Ida Maria - Fortress Round My Heart
>Florence + the Machine - Lungs

Also, Marry Me is definitely a superior St. Vincent album to Actor, the one you put.
And Ys is Joanna Newsom's shittiest album, you should have Milk Eyed Mender or Divers on there.

Would Daniel Johnstons entire discography count?
