Goatlord is better
arctic thunder is gud
Blaze in the Northern Sky literally proves that Death metal is better blackened
you mean it proves black metal is better with as much death metal and little black metal as possible
No, because the next two actual Black Metal albums in the trilogy are better than Blaze
it just proves that Death metal needs to be blackened in order for it to be good.
>No, because the next two actual Black Metal albums in the trilogy are better than Blaze
wrong
Blaze is fantastic but you know that the end sound you hear on Transylvanian Hunger or even Panzerfaust is so much better than Blaze
nothing beats the trve face of evil though
Panzefaust is uninspired leftovers, and Transylvanian Hunger, while innovative and important, isn't that great. A Blaze has far superior writing and complexity.
>Panzerfaust is uninspired leftovers
>Transylvanian Hunger, while innovative and important, isn't that great.
Post your favorite Panzerfaust song
Can I get some real opinions on Terminal Redux? Without memeing/baiting if possible
>Panzefaust is uninspired leftovers
0/10 please take up a trip so i can filter you.
probably quintessence
That's the one that sounds like a third-tier Celtic Frost ripoff, right?
Every day, until you like it.
Meh
Was quite enjoyable first listen, kinda boring after that. 7/10.
It's the kind of album I think that isn't really good for constant listening all the time (especially of individual tracks) but listening to in its entirety once every few months or so would prove rather enjoyable.
Listening now, yep it's that one. Shit taste user, the worst song from the first three Darkthrone albums is better than this.
DUDE SLOW LMAO
I recognise that it is technically good, but when I listen to it it just does nothing for me.
I didn't say that Panzerfaust was better or even as good as the first three albums but you can definitely hear a progression towards that sound. Then you asked me what my favorite song off of it was, I you and you shit on it
Skald is their best song, fight me
You just said earlier that Panzerfaust is "so much better" than Blaze. And a progression towards that sound? It was a massive step backwards.
Soulside was solid death metal with some interesting ideas. Goatlord was crazy avant/prog-death. Blaze was about as complex but with early black metal atmospherics cranked up. Under turned things proper black metal. Hunger basically defined the minimalist approach that most black metal bands following would take after.
Then Panzerfaust comes along and they sound like a drunk Celtic Frost tribute band from 1986.
here come dat boiiiiiiiiii
you're right, I did say that though I think my meaning was warped through my own fault
I think that the parts of Panzerfaust that sound like Transylvanian Hunger is more refined of a sound than what you hear on Blaze
does the idea of band worship upset you? Darkthrone is bathory worship to the core, according to Fenris.
they probably were very drunk recording Panzerfaust, which would have led to the parts that weren't in the vein of Hunger a bit shittier than earlier stuff.
Have you listened to the Panzerfaust remaster?
It fixes alot of issues i originally had with it.
>a lot of issues
do you even know what a fucking remaster is? it just fixes overall sound of the album, not individual tracks. remasters are usually a tad bit louder but that's fucking it.
Why is this blues so fucking heavy
My problem was the vocals were mixed way too loud to the point where it got irritating and they fixed that on the remaster.
There are different degrees of influence. The Bathory influence on classic Darkthrone is modest and mixed with enough other stuff to not matter. Panzerfaust is just a trudging bore.
took its time to hook me
but it's the thrash aoty and the best vektor album
>but it's the thrash aoty and the best vektor album
that would be the new ripper album and black future
why does iron maiden only make happy sounding music?
are they overrated?
Trick question. Their music isn't happy; it's just so good it releases a copious amount of dopamine straight into your brain, triggering positive feelings, this is causing an association of Iron Maiden = happiness.
>overrated
Probably.
>happy
That would be "power fantasy" and most if not all trad heavy bands did that.
It was a counterpart to doom and stuff.

Just recorded some new tunes
>finnish black metal
no
yes, palm muting, fast alternative picking, power cords and the unharmonic tunes that collide to result in a masterpiece of devlish eargasm.
such as slayer, early metallica, deicide, kreator, sodom and bathory.
I know these bands are later in time and they all were influenced by maiden but like listen to black sabbath, they're also in the maiden era yet successfully made awesome aggressive stuff.
THE MIND HAS A THOUSAND EYES
i disagree
Triumphant gleam
JUST A FOOL'S HOPE REMAINS
Kyuss is my favorite jewish death metal band

TOO FAR AWAY TO CARE AT ALL
Benis :----D
LORD Benis :-DDD
Power Meal is the shit
it's just rather generic, not really that wanky and nothing actually bad and they're clearly good musicians but the riffs and the production just do nothing for me
So even Sepultura is hopping on the
>watches Meme in the Shell once
djent bandwagon, huh?
youtube.com
First Fear Factory, now this.
that shit makes me long for cheesy corsetcore cybermetal
Best 70's metal? This, desu
holy fuck is that horrible
why the fuck are well known bands doing this djent shit
If you can't find a single Iron Maiden album you like, not only are you untrve, but you ain't my nigga.
I prefer the Created to Kill versions of a lot of those songs tbqhfam.
>I can feel my own body rotting
>Someone please bury meeee

because their label tells them to, and their labels are run by corporate bizsuits who don't like metal
Hey, remember me?
breddy gud atmodeath for fantasy RPG sessions
Nah, Killers exists, everything else they do can be forgiven on that basis alone
but wouldn't that imply that djent is commercially successful right now
what's that, Chthe'ilist/Ad Nauseam/Random FOTM tech death?
corporate bizsuits don't understand metal enough to know what's successful and what's on the way out
They're just behind on whats actually IN by several years
>why the fuck are well known bands doing this djent shit
They watched Ghost in the Meme once.
2bh i watched GitS after having watched and read and played a bunch of cyberpunk stuff and i was pretty underwhelmed
the direction, animation and soundtrack are all top notch though, both on a technical and artistic level
Judging how people praise the new doom soundtrack a lot and it's basically Djentstep.
Yes I'd say it's rather successful, it's nothing top 40 but also not "5 dudes at some forum love it" levels of niche.

It's much better than Akira which I consider the most overrated anime film of all time
Is this the only good prog metal band before the creative death of the genre?
Akira is flawed as fuck and nowhere near the masterpiece i thought it was as a teen but i find it to be an extremely visceral and satisfying experience
also that soundtrack makes me jizz hard
nah it's about on the same level, really, it's a big spectacle.
It's visually impressive but not any kind of deep.
It's still one of my favorite animated films.
Don't forget to watch other gloomy 80s/90s cyberpunk and horror anime. Most of them are pretty similar.
lmao
pretty much
same thing with Akira really, except Akira is far more batshit and hallucinatory
if i want some deep jap cyberpunk i'll watch Tetsuo The Iron Man
most 90s cyberpunk anime aren't really gloomy like that, they tend to be splatter like Genocyber and Angel Cop
Bitch please!
What is the metal equivalent of Studio ghibli movies?
...
GitS is also pretty splatter desu.
And there's stuff like AD Police Files, Twilight of the Dark Master or Patlabor 2 that's just as gloomy. And there's even gloomier when you go with pure horror, like Bride of Deimos.
Dragonforce desu
what's the metal equivalent of Paul Bonner?
there's also super early cyberpunk stuff like Galaxy Express 999, and man is that movie fucking amazing
i see no czech stuff in there so you still need more /metal/
Pretty accurate 2bh.
No ROTNS 0/10
>No ROTNS
Nani?!
Kek
It kind of is right now. Can you think of anything in metal (or related to metal) that is as popular as djent right now? Deathcore and djent have been at the forefront of popular metal for years now and like it or not that's just how it's gonna be
deathcore's been dead for almost a decade dude.
its all about nu-proge now.. aka djent with faggy singing over it and 4 different guitar tracks playing equally mediocre different parts at the same time, circlejerking about space and emotions

will check it out when I'm done with pic related
