pretty good desu
not a straight pop track like their other singles so that's probably what alienated some people
I like it. It's eerie
It's the greatest pleb filter to ever exist.
I just want another Feel Good Inc.
>Sup Forums pretends to like this bland shite now
At least it's better than new Arcade Fire song
>I don't like it so everyone else must be pretending to like it
you're what's wrong with this board
ITT contrarians
don't generally like gorillaz but I dig it
"spooky false prophet man" is a cool idea for a song character
if you like scott walker, i see no reason why you wouldn't at least sort of like this song unless you just love trump so much you can't get over the political context of it
oh yeah I forgot if I don't think exactly what everyone else thinks I'm a contrarian
thank you for telling me what music I should like you fucking faggot
What I enjoy is that it's not indicative of anything. Album could go anywhere at this point, and I'm very open to that. Albarn has always had a hit-miss track record that makes whatever he does interesting, even if he misses the mark by a small amount. This is that, not a pop banger, but a slow crawl where he hides in the background, essentially a shadow waiting to unveil what happens next.
Would enjoy to see some energy akin to the s/t beyond this, on the album itself, but like I said, it could go anywhere.
This. I can't think of a bigger pleb filter.
Well maybe King of Carrot Flowers Pt. 2
misguided liberal rant with little to no (redeeming) musical qualities
also the black guy looks like the bogdanovs
...
...
I told you to go back to /trash/ because you posted furfag shit you fucking idiot.
no /trash/ is only for gayshit ponyshit and fetishshit
i reserve the right to ironically furpost so long as my reply is on topic
You gotta go back.
One thing I really like about the song is the way it kind of clashes the major-key, happy-sounding sample in the back with an angelic choir against the minor-key, spooky, at times chromatic vocals.
Clashing major and minor is a pretty obvious means of creating tension/a sense of unease, but what I really like about it in this case is the way Damon went about it.
If I were making this track, I would have had major-key vocals set against unsettling instrumentation and accompaniment. That's the more obvious way to do it. Damon has done the opposite, so it kind of turns the song on in its ass. So instead of portraying the dream that a slick, charming speaker as trying to sell you on as being dark and bad (the obvious route), the dream seems beautiful. Instead it's something about the speaker that's wrong.
And I like how the clashing tones seem to almost resolve during the chorus: "Hallelujah money..." almost like for a moment the speaker is being trustworthy: he does actually love money.
>ironically furry porn post
>on topic
Don't like Gorillaz, I like this song
Fucking hell I messed up my link.

it's only porn if exclusively made to give you an erection and i am flaccid

I liked the song but I don't get why people say that this song is anti Trump
Alright, well, this thread has been derailed.
I actually really like it. That's my honest answer.
same. I liked this song instantly while I didn't get into most tracks by Gorillaz at all even after multiple listens
faggot mods deleted the entire post not just the image
cucks
I can only imagine all the retards thinking that video of Spanish Catholic penitents are the KKK. I wonder if the video editor who made I thought they were KKK.
I like the shadow puppet
this song is fucking horrible what is wrong with you people
it sounds like it was made on an ipad and the vocals are boring as fuck
I don't usually like the Gorillaz but I like this song. Not a fan of some of the production, but I like the weird groove and eerie vocals
Yeah just read the lyrics and the description in the mv and you'll see why it's about Trump.
...huh, how about that
i caught bits of fantastic planet and some other stuff in there, too, i think they were just going by feel / at random from a library or something
Did you not like The Fall?
Wait, do people like The Fall? I kind of forget that it exists. But should I try it again? My musical tastes have changed since I last listened to it.
Anyway. I feel like Hallelujah Money took like two listens to grow on me. It's haunting as fuck.
Wasn't a huge fan of it my first listen, but it grew on me. The main complaint I'm seeing (besides "muh Trump") is that the song is slow and boring. While the song is definitely one of their slower and spacier songs I like the vocals and I enjoyed the instrumentation. All in all, not their best work, but it isn't that bad.
This isn't even the most autistic thing I've read today.
It's growing on me, I find it quite challenging, people are overreacting honestly, it's just a song and not that different from what Gorillaz made in the past, that group always was political.
The video has this weirdness that I somehow enjoy, I can understand that you don't like it though.
The Fall is good
People keep saying it's shit but I think it's pretty good, at least all right. It's not even that "out there" at all. Just has funny singing and a more ethereal sound than most of their other work. If nothing else, at least it's fresh.
Fuck. Listening to it again right now, and you're right. Thanks user.
I legitimately liked it on the first listen. Maybe it's because I'm not intimately familiar with the Gorillaz.
It felt like they haven't moved past Plastic Beach at some parts of it.
This is how you know it's good.
It felt a little Plastic Beach-y to me too. But Demon Days doesn't sound like a big departure from the first album either.
I love it. For once I'm glad Sup Forums is a bunch of contrarian fucks because this song is getting a lot of unjust hate from casuals.
it's not even that experimental
I feel like I'm legitimately going crazy when people talk about how shitty and experimental it is
?????
I agree. But I've had a lot of people tell me that I listen to weird shit. I don't feel that way. It's just got like a little dissonance to it.
They can't comprehend any beats that aren't in 4/4. Soul music and minimalist styles do not exist to them. Normies don't remotely understand any genre that isnt either pop, country, or rock, depending on how they were raised.
jesus
put on bjork - medulla and watch their heads explode
bump
i like it, cloud of unknowing/ latin simone tier.
I don't even understand why it's anti trump. All I can see is the description which uproxx wrote not the gorillaz.
The video takes place inside an elevator inside of Trump Tower. The thing with Spongebob at the end in context of that episode is Spongebob's response to being told "You're Fired" by Mr. Krabs, which was Trump's catchphrase on The Apprentice. It was released a day before the inauguration. It also has lyrics about building walls and so forth. It's about Trump.
lyrics are pretty great once I realized the character clementine was portraying.
