Curry as you know it is a british invention.
The thing we call curry is just a basic dish and is not considered as a delicacy.
Also south indian food isnt spicy at all, and is the most delecious, but I dont think foreigners know about it, even the ones who say they love indian food. Thy most likely have never eaten real indian food.
>idli vada sambhar dosa
I make my own dosa
tfw no traditional Indian wife to make dosas for me
What state are you from? Im from hyderabad and some of the food is spicy. I think maybe goan food due to the amount of coconut they use might not be as spicy. I cant say for kerala either but tamil food is a bit spicy too.
Compared to north indian, south indian food is on average a lot more spicy. If you think idli/vada/dosa are normal food then think again. That would be like me saying eating chapati/naan/paratha with daal and saying north indian food isnt spicy. Everyone makes it different also, I refuse to eat my grandmothers cooking, she makes it so dam spicy. For 1-2lb of meat my mom uses 2-3 table spoons of chilli powder and my family back in india uses a lot more. Whenever we go back I have to ask them to lower the amount, sometimes my mom cooks also just to make it easy for us.
Delhi.
I only get to eat south food in restaurants.
Porotta is my favorite Indian dish
Could be a reason why, what do you get though? I was in delhi last year but it was only a layover. My hindi is ok but on the flight there this older woman next to me asked for "namak" which in telugu means dont believe. Confused for a couple seconds cause I couldnt recollect the word for salt in hindi.

First two are kind of like cakes. Third is basically a curry. Fourth is basically a pancake with the curry in
