I made vaporwave for a few years and some of the vw friends I've made are still producing it.
How have you not moved on from this genre and take the next step into actually producing hand made music?
Sampled-based music can be great and done well, but almost every vaporwave album still has terrible production and mastering. What is the appeal? Don't you want to be a better musician?

the album actually sounds like it'd made of original midi compositions and sound clips, it doesn't sound sampled like classic vaporwave

oh, yeah, then I get that. the classic vaporwave style has really lost its appeal, especially since they all draw samples from the same wall mart tapes and slow jazz compilations on youtube. I can't remember the last classic style album I've enjoyed. Skeleton's Pour Homme may be it, but it's still more complicated than his previous work

I hope it's okay to post my own music. This album I made for my deceased Grandmother. Includes some vaporwave influences, but a lot of it is orginial music & includes more edits than just slowing a song down. Future releases will have less vaporwave influence. Also, the first track isn't very good.
I'd work on finding some more creative things to sample. This sounds very samey compared to other releases in the genre.

Music needs more edits to it, more reverb would be nice make it seem like you aren't stealing the orginial track & just slowing it down, also please sample something else this gives me a headache. Sample something instrumental & preferably not something from Japan. It's been done to death.
