Quads confirm. Can't argue.

It's very good but yeah it's overrated. The songs are kinda samey to me. Still an 8/10 though.

Disintegration [Elektra, 1989]

With the transmutation of junk a species of junk itself, an evasion available to any charlatan or nincompoop, it's tempting to ignore this patent arena move altogether. But by pumping his bad faith and bad relationship into depressing moderato play-loud keyb anthems far more tedious than his endless vamps, Robert Smith does actually confront a life contradiction. Not the splintered relationship, needless to say, although the title tune is a suitably grotesque breakup song among unsuitably grotesque breakup songs. As with so many stars, even "private" ones who make a big deal of their "integrity," Smith's demon lover is his audience, now somehow swollen well beyond his ability to comprehend, much less control. Hence the huge scale of these gothic cliches. And watch out, you mass, 'cause if you don't accept this propitiation he just may start contemplating suicide again. Or take his money and go home. C+

correct

glad to have such a critical eye in music

Disintegration is the old phenomenon of a band near the end of their commercial relevance bloating up into overwrought prog epics as a desperation move. As Bono said, "Prog is the mould growing on a congealed band on its last legs."

The Cure were very much rooted in the sky-is-falling UK of the Thatcher years as the IRA were bombing stuff, everyone was afraid of nuclear war, and police were battling rioting coal miners in the street. By 1993, their message wasn't relevant anymore and bands like them gave way to the good-time-fun Britpop.

Same Deep Water as you

what's her name user? :^)

Yes it was a quite dark time. Every other hit song on the radio was about nuclear war or the decline of Britain.

go to sleep morrison.

The bait didn't work yesterday user ?

Sorry, does it hurt even more the second time around?

lol'd my friend.

pleb, disintegration is 10/10

Tbh my favorite Cure songs are the sadboi pop ones like Caterpillar and In Between Days

Anyone saw them on tour last year? Shit was spectacular.

I've been binging Just Like Heaven a lot recently and I'm pretty bummed that I can't find anything else that damn catchy. After listening to the Dinosaur Jr. version I'm even more bummed because no other noise pop is that catchy.

Untitled always makes Disintegration feel so complete.

Six Different Ways is a personal favr of their brighter tunes.

So you're admitting it's bait. Thought as much, but now I know.

It took you nearly an hour to come up with that "comeback"?

what "comeback"? all he did was state a fact, ya dumbfuck.

>if you post in a thread once you must monitor it at all times

God, he's such a shitty writer

Faith > Pornography > Disintegration > Seventeen Seconds > Head on The Door > Kiss Me > Boys Don't Cry > Bloodflowers > Wish >>>>> The Top

>I take my crappy bait extremely seriously: the post

If you are this mad this implies you know the OP is true and can't craft a reasonable counter argument. In these cases it's usually better to keep your mouth shut so as not to confirm everyone's suspicions (that you're very upset)

OP's shitpost says nothing about the musical content of the album itself. You could apply it to most things by simply changing the pronouns. Watch.

Japan > The Cure

Try 'Boys don't cry', 'Friday im in love', and 'a letter to elise'. I love 'Just like heaven' and these are the only cure songs that give a similar vibe

OP and /thread in one post

Disintegration was a good album but it's clearly 1 dimensional which makes listening to it in one go get sickening

>white knighting Disintegration, and yourself, this hard
Take a sip of that pumpkin spice latte, draw a hot bubble bath once your mom gets out of the shower (tell her I said thanks again btw), and chillax my acquaintance

That's a unusual and nonsensical comparison seeing as they have very little in common. I say that as a fan of both.

go lick a picture of your shitty waifu, grimescuck.
