Wildfires in Chile

(CNN) A chain of wildfires has unleashed a catastrophe over wide swaths of central and southern Chile, killing at least 11 people, destroying thousands of homes and consuming an area about three times the size of New York City, authorities said.

"We have never seen anything on this scale, never in the history of Chile," President Michelle Bachelet, who has declared a state of emergency, said earlier this week.

Had no idea this was happening, you guys should call Trump for help.

this shouldnt be happening, i mean, we are suppose to be prepared for event like this one.

since the fires are intentional there are 2 theories about what's happenig.
one it that mapuche people is burning the woods in a kind of civil war against the ruling class.
the other one is that the logging companies are causing this to collect the insurance since the TPP plan is about to die since donald trump got usa out of it.

Shit happens here too, though we call them bushfires and often get firestorms. It's a common occurrence and not that dangerous with proper preparation and precautions, a part of life here really. However generally every 7-12 years we get it really bad, sometimes it goes through residential areas and people die. Our worst was Black Saturday, when like 200 people died. However most of the time nothing so extreme happens, just the occasional 2-3 deaths usually due to their own stubbornness and stupidity.

For us they occur because some of the flora reproduce that way and in certain parts of the year in different places a fire season is called (it differs in length and time depending on region). Which means a total fire ban. Often fires occur simply because it's too hot and someone accidentally starts one, just a discarding cig on some concrete that manages to get blown into some bushes, stuff like that. Or conditions are just right that they simply start themselves. The 2003 Canberra bushfires were started by a dry storm, lightening sparked smaller bushfires into existence in areas of good fuel and heat. They eventually all joined up, formed a massive firestorm and went through the outer suburbs of Canberra.

We're apparently sending a little over 100 firefighters, out of the 500 international fighters expected

their fire is intentional though, someone caused it

JUST
We are getting help from Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, Russia and France, iirc

"France, Russia, the United States and Peru have sent international help to combat the fires following last week's declaration of a state of emergency in some of the worst-affected areas. Additionally, aid from Mexico and Colombia was expected to arrive this week."

Where is England?

Don't forget the smoke. It's a huge problem too.

Maybe someone caused it but how do they know it was intentional? They can happen pretty easily here, just 1 little spot fire can starts thousands of other spot fires which then expand and combine into a big fuck off fire, just from a tiny spark. In the right conditions and nearby fuel, you can just bang two rocks together next to a bush and start a fire that can turn into several large fires, it's really easy. What makes you and others so sure it was intentional?

Pro tip: The environment in Chile is not the same as in Australia.
Add to that the fact there's been multiple focus to the fire happening at the same time and in different locations.

There is literally people being arrested

The same thing happens in southern california

bushels of cloth with wicks have been recovered in various places, it's very likely to be a terrorist attack

through our history it has been normal to lose 5000 hectares due to wildfires each year, but this year the number rises to 500000

there are***

If the media actually has the balls to blame the elite for this there's going the be blood

Oh, yeah, we've got fires too for the last month. Albeith smaller, a bunch of farmfields, wildlife and animal farms have been destroyed.
A group of pyromaniacs have actually been detained after they tried to set a firefighter truck on fire with a lonely guy taking care of it

kek

lel

OMG Argentina is getting fires too

>Where is England?
