Guys please help me. I've been learning this language for years now and I think I get the gist of the grammar, and I know the basic stuff, but my vocabulary is super limited. I have two questions:
Firstly, what can I do to increase my vocabulary? My goal is to be able to understand more or less whats happening in popular Chinese movies and TV.
Secondly, what are some apps or tools that I can use to practice my speaking abilities? I'm an angmoh so no one here ever speaks any mandarin to me, and when I try they look at me like I'm retarded.

it's not hard to make, basically just black tea, sugar and creamer (if you went for the black tea kind heh)
and i'm sure you can find the instant kind in asian supermarkets for that authentic taste you just can't really get that store bought taste down when you make it at home, they must add something else in there (probably artificial flavors kek)

Nah they're pretty decent, and I'd put money on most people in the UK having neutral feelings or at least liking Hong Kongers and Chinese people in general living here.
We certainly don't hate them. We gave Hong Kong back because we only had it under a 99 year lease, and Deng Xiaoping suggested that he would cut off all trade with Hong Kong and then the People's Army would steamroll any British forces in Hong Kong if we didn't respect the terms of the lease.
The Yanks and European Union didn't want to start a conflict with China so it was either Hong Kong dies because they have no water then gets glassed, or they live under One Country Two Systems for 50 years.
There were actually plans in the 80's to the 5.3 million people living in Hong Kong to Northern Ireland before the handover but it never happened. It would have been fucking mental though considering Ireland as a whole only hit 5 million people in the 90's. It would mean doubling their population in under a decade (or however long it takes to build infrastructure to take 5 million people and then ship them over)
