Answer and Colossus specifically

SPECULATION OF TIME

If this is a serious thread then here is the correct answer by a long shot.

Death Grips

Unkle Adams

either Vince Staples or Earl Sweatshirt

true

None of these mongs know what they're talking about

GZA is the best lyricist of hip hop.

Lin-Manuel Miranda because he's the only one I know of who is also a playwright

Spit a verse famrade

Miranda is a hack bitch who wrote one shlocky play that was lucky enough to get big with Tumblr-tards.

Still a better playwright than any other rapper.
Also
>implying Shakespeare wasn't also a hack

Shakespeare would probably have been a better rapper than that corny fuck though

>who is prince paul

Prince Among Thieves blows the fucking lid off Hamilton.

>beautiful darkness

patrician taste senpai

Kanye invented the human

No, that's a lie that weird people believe for some reason

This, his inventing of various slang words is the only thing that comes close to Shakespeare level influence in hip hop.

n*gga n*gga n*gga n*gga n*gga n*gga n*gga n*gga n*gga

Shakespeare

Kanye sets the tone for what becomes popular 4 years later. It's clearly Kanye

if we're being honest with ourselves, the answer is Kanye. He sets trends years and years in advance

Aesop Rock blows. He can write but can't rap for shit

I came to this thread and searched for your response just to call you a nerd, you fucking nerd.

someone overrated

he's a better rapper than Yeezy lmao

Some tracks suit him perfectly, but I agree it just sounds off on the looser beat stuff

Young thug.

Hear me out. Shakespeare's biggest genius thing IMO was all the words he invented by running other words together, or just spouting nonsense until he landed on something he felt meant something. As well as playoff with the idea of gender roles, rappers have done that in the past before (Cam'ron, Andre 3000) but Young Thug is the one who does it in the most similar way to how Shakespeare did. I think Young Thug is the rapper who comes closest to what Shakespeare achieved. I don't think Young Thug is the best writer out right now or anything but he is the rapper that can most easily be compared to Shakespeare.

either aesop rock or

>every treats his work like it was divinely inspired
>it's just a bunch of debauchery and dick jokes
...it works.

shakespeare was popular because he wrote funny and dramatic stories that the public at large enjoyed. the perception that he was some kind of genius with unmatched mastery of the written word is a mere meme promulgated by simpletons. the beatles are another example of this effect.

Thou art like one of those fellows that when he enters the confines of a tavern,
claps me his sword upon the table and says ‘God send me no need of thee!’
and by the operation of the second cup draws it on the drawer, when indeed there is no need.

His writing is still applicable half a millennium later. Will the Beatles be?

Fpbp

If you are talking about word invention, E40 easily.
