Really enjoying this one, very well arranged. Like the vocals, gives what could have otherwise sounded like run of the mill sad alt rock more emotional backing
This is cool, check it out people.
Think I may have said this in another thread but I'm a fan of Transient Life. Very cool. Introspective Existentialism is also very good.

The following people sound great
(A really nice mixture of unsettling and bitter-sweet. Keep it up.)
(I liked love, the other 3 are a bit to minimalist for me)
(I love the dry roomy drum sound your getting. The dynamics between albums is really cool too)
Hey where can I get a tape of this? Great album art as always, really impressed

That one is much more ambient and sound-collage oriented than my usual stuff, although it still has the same fetishization for esoteric instruments and unusual timbres and all that.

Very cool, I love this sort of gritty ambient music. That gurgling bassy noise starting off Born is beautiful and the eeriness that follows is great. Very atmospheric album, beautiful yet disturbing. Keep it up.
First two tracks remind me of that old Will Cullen Hart field recording. Silver I think? He buried a microphone underground, I'm not sure if I got the name right. I mean that as a compliment, I loved that album.
I really dig the pulsing in the third track, it's got that eerie driving feeling, almost cinematic which is a surprise to get out of something so minimal and strange. Very very good. Gotta spend some time sitting down with this full album.
Regular rec coming through. Sound collage work is very strange and very lovely.
This is my first time really taking time with your other albums and they're really really great, man.

Holy smokes that's a high praise for something as simple as harsh noise wall.
Thanks for the rec, I'm a sucker for field recordings
Believe or not, it was all made with the WASP synth VST (the one you find in FL Studio) and additional effects.
Also ( again here) do you like Chocolate USA. Senioritis is giving me some E6 vibes and specifically Chocolate USA vibes.
Field recordings are so rad, man. If you haven't checked it, I always recommend NASA's Symphony of the Planets. I fucking love that.
That is impressive, dude, you seriously made that work for you so fucking well. Very cool.
Thanks a lot! Glad you liked my other stuff. I still haven't checked out much of your work besides Cosmogram; I'll have to get on that. Also, do you know if there's a way to listen online to that Will Cullen Hart album you were comparing that other guy's music to?
I'm a big fan of E6, the Music Tapes, and Julian Koster, but I haven't listened to much Chocolate USA. I'll check em out some more.
Very very cool stuff.
I cannot find it anywhere, I don't even remember where I got it in the first place. Probably here back when sharethreads were a little easier pre-Mediafire shutting down.
The Music Tapes are great and Mary's Voice is fucking amazing. Definitely check out Chocolate USA, they had some great stuff.
I appreciate it, Cosmodrome is the least indicative of what sort of music I generally make. It was sort of just a little experiment I had in the back of my head for a while that I was proud enough with to release.
Thanks man! We got a bunch of tapes, we just need to add them to our bandcamp! Check back in a bit and they should be there.

Nostalgic as fuck. Fun to listen to. Keep working on your melody-writing skills.
Love the Beach Boys influence. Cool production and instrumentation. Try adding more dynamics throughout your songs though. Quiet points and loud points to add contrast to a single song. Keep it up.
You've got a great voice and a good ear for writing beautiful melodies.
Would like to hear you add some drums and bass to your acoustic instruments. Good shit
Try going for more dense textures with different instruments rathwe than just adding effects to a single instrument

i dig the noise experiment with a beat at least. makes it much more listenable. like youve given me at least a breathe of air before you drop me in the depth of space to see what lives out there. most other just throw ya out without that breathe.
This is a fun record. something i genuinely enjoyed. Well done. its hard to combine blues with anything and not have the blues feel be swollen whole but you did this well.
this is quite pleasant. the noise floor was pretty high so i was worried it was gonna be crap but this is really nice and upbeat, maybe a little bit too sweet for me. but nice in little pieces. i gave ya a download
too sweet pop for me, even the slower stuff. but it is very nice. im sure this is someones favorite album, but just not me... sorry.

Just dropped a new album last night titled "Algae Blooms"; basically it's improv through loads of delay or reverb, depending on the track. I'd be eager to hear what folks think of this one.
This is great. I'm definitly buying a tape once they hit the bandcamp.
This is really eerie and cool. Your artwork implies a tape is available/in the works, would tat be correct? I'd love one. This is the kind of music that I'd love to drive around at night in my '91 Sunfire with the tape deck and the half flat tire.

I listened to this earlier, I really liked it! What can you say about the creative process for each track, and the album as a whole? How much was each track influenced by the diatom or plankton that they are named after?
Thank you.
Yes, there will be tapes with some bonus tracks and outtakes in the somewhat near future, just working out some details and adjust masters to be fit for the purpose of taping. Follow me on Twitter/Bandcamp to keep an eye on them. There's some extra goodies here too: gaia.industries
Will check your release too in a bit, quickly listened to a few tracks and first impressions are very positive!

Thanks, mane! I've listened to your stuff before, and I quite enjoy it as well! Looking forward to the new album!
As for the creative process, there kind of wasn't any haha. Most of these tracks were recorded improv that may have simply been influenced by my own toying around before recording. That being said, I think I have a slight GY!BE influence that can be heard in the delayed bowed guitar. As for the genus names, most of them I just randomly assigned to tracks, although they seem to have fitted into each track nicely in a certain sense (with the exception of Hydrodictyon. I still don't see a lot of sense in that track's Algae). Asterionella was named due to its twinkly, celestial-ish sound. Funny, the first three tracks are technically not named after Algae, but after Cyanobacteria, although these are also known as blue green algae. Microcystis I feel is maybe the most "well known" (?) of the cyanotoxin producing freshwater Cyanobacteria genuses, so maybe that, in combination with the thought of the toxin it produces with a similar name, might have had to do with the naming of that track, which is, I would say, the centerpiece of the album.
lunarsynthesis.bandcamp.com
>a lo-fi, acoustic and distorted hodgepodge of indie pop
Thank you kindly!
I definitely got some strong GY!BE vibes throughout. That's pretty neat that a lot of this was improvised, I respect that. Asterionella (from what little I know about cyanobacteria and other algae related organisms) is in a fragile, glass-like shell, so the twinkliness really does work. All in all, well done!
Thank you, my good man! Asterionella cells also will arrange themselves in a somewhat star-like formation, which I'm guessing is the influence for the genus name

audacity is the shit, I use it as well.
do you have any cool tricks you use? any EQ stuff or combinations of the effects and so on?
The only thing I really use is the noise reduction feature so I can get rid of white noise in the background and some of the guitar/mic feedback. Other than that, nothing much. I tried using the reverb function once but it made my voice sound stupid.

ok I'm back like I said
this is pretty rough honestly, it comes off as try-hard artsy and most of the songs sound the same, and not in a good way either. there's some potential there but the songs are pretty un-memorable. guitar is way too sharp and overpowering in the recording too.
this is actually really good
lyrics are pretty generic sounding but otherwise i like it
thanks for the feedback man i'm glad you like it, i honestly agree that the lyrics to that particular songs are pretty empty, hence the empty in heavy empty(heavy refers to the music it self)
so i listened to your stuff, for a laptop mic the guitars sound really good, and the vocals are good if a bit quiet sometimes but thats cool
