ITT we prove RT is shit

ITT we prove RT is shit

>inb4 some dc/marvel faggotry

ive never used this site as an actual argument for anything, its just lame

that being said, rocky 4, back to the future 2, and top gun all got way too low

die another day, terminator3, and indiana jones 4 got WAY TOO HIGH

>movie makes critic sad or upset
>critic gives it a bad review

Only reason why High Rise's score is so low. Great film about a descent into chaos with beautiful shots throughout. Polarized critics because about half of them thought it was "too upsetting".

I loved it.

The audience score is generally more accurate

...

always remind of jesus christ

>ITT: We disagree with the majority of critics and want everyone to know about it.

but why? nothing to prove. i'd rather just not waste my time on a site that i have almost no match with in terms of taste.

>62%

I expected mid 70s at least. It was a hell of a ride even if you didn't include its social themes.

Absolute shit compared to the book, the director is a hack for wasting such amazing source material.

>tumblr tomatoes

Same was said about Stanley Kubrick.

Metacritic ftw

Kubrick actually changed certain elements of the story, all wheatly did was glance over important character elements and motivations. Leading to majority of the characters looking like idiots for not just leaving the building.

It was pretty clear that anyone with sense or options had already left. The parking lot had less than half of what it used to by the time shit got really bad.

>I DON'T KNOW WHAT RT ACTUALLY DOES!

>METACRITIC IS TOTALLY BETTAH! THEY AREN'T BOUGHT BY DISNEY!!

>civil war average rating on RT 7.6
>civil war score on metacritic 75

WOW!

>33%

I'd like to go on the record and disagree with the critics on this one. It's at least twice that and at the most twice that.

It's not necessarily shit, it's just that many people feel that the percentage is supposed to represent an aggregate review score (or more specifically their own review score) when that's plainly not how the system works. A movie that 100% of critics agree is good but not great is going to get a 100% and a movie that people either adore or revile is going to get around 50%. I'm not saying that most people don't know how RT works but when I see people saying that a certain movie is too high or too low then I have my doubts.

The percentile is a bit more accurate if the reviews are predominantly negative. If a good movie, like Tango and Cash, gets negative backlash from nearly 70% of the critics, something went wrong.

that's it--fuck RT

From what I see the review score is usually about 10-15 points off, it's just that it's a poor system for displaying difference of opinion, let alone actual critique.

off from the actual aggregate I mean.

>2009
>still using Rotten Tomatoes

...

>they pick the reviews
>they interpret some reviews
>they choose how many to include
>you think taste is objective
>determined entirely subjectively
>easily rigged for profit

Nope, RT is always right

>that one fucking hothead

>audience rating = 89%
average rating: 3.7/5 = 74%

They didnt get paid enough

...

The special effects alone have aged fairly well and it was memorable enough to be talked about to this day.

ones a percentage of how many views responded favorably. then users are asked to assign a number to it which is the average you see. they're not the same thing, you're just an idiot.

What exactly happened in 1991?

...

I'VE SAID THIS BEFORE AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN.

ROTTEN TOMATOES JUST AGGREGATES REVIEW SCORES TOGETHER AND THEN WRITES A SUMMARY.

THEY DON'T CHOOSE THE SCORE.
THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING, IT'S A FUCKING FANCY VERSION OF METACRITIC FOR MOVIES.

...

old people don't recognise kino

who the fuck painted those words on the guys face anyways and why?

JUST

Whats the difference between a RT 'critique' and a regular human who watches moveis reguarly?

>2k16
