>>entertaining 7.5/10
>>manages to stay faithful
>>most of it is CGI and they pull it off except for a couple of scenes
>>story was already set but the pacing was good, not amazing but it introduced every important part and it didnt feel rushed
>>chief,guldan and apprentice were interesting
>>fighting man and son were not overdramatized as the movie didn't take itself SO SERIOUSLY which is a good thing ( remember this is a place where frogmen prawl around gouing 'grawwwlrg')

it's not high culture but damn is it an enjoayble movie, don't let anyone tell you it's not

the thing I liked the least was fucking medivh
plan??shitty cgi evil phase, his magic looked goofy at times

also corona means cursed in orc?

well that explains the shitty beer

Were there murlocs in the movie?
Fuck, I'd kill for an illegal danish type feature film.

fuck you corona light is best beer per calorie on the market

Yea

>>story was already set but the pacing was good, not amazing but it introduced every important part and it didnt feel rushed

You are a liar or delusional user i watched movie from torrent yesterday...

>stupid little pleb trying to give his greentext review after watching shit quality cam rip

and what was your problem with the pacing?

Why do people hate the pace so much? Is it too slow like BvS?

>per calorie

>these awful flimsy 14-year-old "reasons" a film is good

Holy shit you're fucking stupid.

t. capecucks

The first half of the movie they just jump from scene to scene erratically. It's really weird, like you're watching the abridged version of the movie.

starts with the orcs summoning up the portal

jumps to the human captain expecting new boomstick technology in the dwarf capital and receiving news of an attack of unknown origins so he travels there, where he meets the young mage

it's not jumping from scene to scene, it progresses and every new information and character progresses the story dumbass

What is it?

Story is eratic, they tried to tell so much that they told nothing at the end, left so many important stuff unclear, they cut 40minutes it feels so rushed and out of place, they shufle characters fast in slideshow making them irelevant and at the end you have no idea who is who, makes you not care for any of them, LOTR had good character development and clear story which made you care for sequel this is just a slideshow.

I thought it kind of fit with the whole Horde and Alliance opposing sides theme. I get what you mean though.

there is no alliance at this point, just humans of Stormwind and settlements around it, Alliance comes later when Dwarfs and gnomes are attacked and they go like "Hot damn son, you were right those greenskins are butchering our homes"

T. Adhd kid

>lothar rides a gryphon
>it doesn't disappear in a puff of smoke into his bag after he dismounts
shit movie

so people who know the lore

what will happen next movie? gul dan is there and medivh has to go full evil, babyorc becomes stronk character to unite orcs humans?

When one of the positives in your review is 'managed to stay faithful to source material' it tells me straight up not to care about your opinion

Fuck your source material. Fuck video games

you are the cancer, I bet you hate the new suicide squad already just because
>>what??joker has tatoos now? dropped
but sure if its video games, WHO GIVES A SHIT, WHY WASNT THE ORC JAKE GYLENHAAL PAINTED GREEN SMOKING REEFA AND TALKING ABOUT LIFE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN KINO
sure kiddo sure

Then they go to Goldshire because the king is randomly there.

Then they fly to Karazhan to meet Medivh

Then they teleport to Stormwind.

Then they go to Elwynn.

Then they go back to Stormwind.

Then they go to Swamp of Sorrows.

Then they go back to Stormwind.

Then they go to Blackrock Pass.

Then they Go back to Stormwind.

Then they go to Dalaran, karazhan and Swamp of Sorrows again.

The orcs are going through the human settlements raiding them that's fine. The human are zig zagging across the world, never staying in one area for more than 1 scene and they don't seem to have any direction or goal. Despite all that every human scene takes place in a small room. Can't they have a conversation on a balcony or something so we can see some scenery?

>people carry their armors and weapons on themselves instead of their square based backpacks

dropped.

Basicaly this! They want to show us so much of the epic univerese but they remain stingy on CGI, okay then...

Really? I actually thought medivh was great. I liked the movie. Didn't mind the little lore changes except one. Why the fuck did they make it llane's idea to kill himself? Why, fuck. What was even the point of gul'dan yanking garona around on a chain if she wasn't his brainwashed spy? How is she supposed to bering peace between the horde and alliance, if the alliance thinks that she's a fucking backstabbing traitor? Also no 'The orc leaders agree'. Fucking retarded.

There was a single murloc, if you're not a fan you probably wouldn't even notice it though.

Who knows. The movie changes a bunch of stuff.

In the games the orcs win against Stormwind and go on to invade the other kingdoms. Orgrim Doomhammer becomes the warchief and they are winning until Gul'dan takes some of the clans to find the tomb of the leader of the demons. Humans push back and Lothar duels Orgrim and dies then his second in command wins. All the orcs are imprisoned in internment camps.

However many years later the baby is an adult and escapes the humans who found him. He finds the remains of the Frostwolf clan and joins them and learns to be a shaman. Orgrim shows up and teaches him to be a leader then they break the orcs out of the internment camps and sail across the sea to where the Night Elves live to escape the demons/undead. They get in fights with the Night Elves and eventually ally with them to defeat a demon commander. Oh and another clan chief defeats the demon who gave Gul'dan the fel magic so they aren't corrupted by it any more.

I get the impression that they will change things up a lot for the movies though. It would be kind of ridiculous to have so much lead up to the Thrall storyline and then not mention it until the third movie.

goldshire and stormwind are basically interchangable as they are generic human settlemens

elwynn is a forest

where they travel

I mean how the fuck should they NOT go to elwynn forest? how would they get around?

same with blackrock pass and Karazhan, also tell me the place getting rekt with the fel wasnt well executed

we get plenty of wide shots at the dark portal and overall in the movie, where do you want the fucking humans to have TACTICAL MEETINGS? on the fucking balcony?

shit is just retarded senpai, cool yourself

It felt like watching part 2 of a 3 part movie.

>There won't be any futa draenei or night elves in Goldshire until after the warcraft 3 movie and burning crusade movie

>humans have horses
>no cavalry at all
>no artillery backup
>only one gryphon in the land
>no gnome tanks
>no cannons
>charge at superior numbers on foot with one shot guns

You're forgetting the part when Thrall and the clans of orcs including Grom Hellscream and Orgrim Doomhammer, and their revolt from the interment camps, this happened during warcraft 2, right after they escape is the start of wc3

I suppose the gryphons are trained and bought from Wildhammer dwarves, since the gryphons live mostly in Hinterlands, and is used to transport royals (Lothar allowed to use one for this superimportant mission to go see Medivh)

user, medivh is dead, how did you miss that?
Stormwind - the human city will be razed and humans will lose the first war. The orcs will then move on to Khaz Modan, the dwarf kingdom, and the northern human kindoms that were acting like faggots during the meeting in the movie. Also trolls, ogres and jew goblin mercenaries will join the horde. We better see some motherfucking zul'jin, troll berserkers and axe throwers.

>>no gnome tanks
>>no cannons
Also, this weren't a thing until Warcraft 2 when dwarfs realize the dangers of the orcs after the king of stormwind dies and the orcs start attacking dwarf settlements around wetlands and loch modan

>the king is randomly there.
The monarchs are not glued to their thrones, user. They do in fact travel around their country. We dont need to know why he was their. Maybe he was visiting a friend, maybe he has some business there. It's not fucking important.

What is important is how bad this movies pacing was and random logic leaps.

Here user, i dont want to write wall of text, but most of info is here, Guldan and Lothar dies so much for character development lel, they will introduce more character and no development for them either, this is why game movies dont work, there is no protagonist to root for, They should have just made Arthas triology if they wanted to give warcraft a homage, thats interesting development and hero to villian transformation.

This 100%. Also how fast does Lothar fall for that green chick? Meets a couple times, falls in love

Forgot the link lel
wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Second_War

That i can't argue with. But whining about 'muh king in muh goldshire' is just retarded

Fuck this sequel whoring piece of shit

When you are introducing characters you shouldn't confuse your audience with pointless information. When Lothar declares that they are going to see the king he should be in his castle, or at least his city because that's where the audience expects him to be. The audience is still trying to get their bearings so throwing in the curveball of him being at a party in Goldshire is just pointless information that can confuse the audience. On top of that, instead of having the scene at a fanservice location they could have used the time to introduce Stormwind. Did you not find it strange that the only shot that gave you a sense of the city was the final scene of the movie? Every other Stormwind scene is in a windowless room.

>Arbitrary numerical value
>Admission you need to know series lore to enjoy
>In a movie that relies on CG, they are sloppy
>More confirmation you need Warcraft lore to enjoy it
>Interesting characters should be a bare minimum requirement not a selling point
>"Turn your brain off guys"

You make me want to see it less.

Some shit just wasn't really explained

>What the fuck is an actual Guardian
>Why/How is he separate from the other mage dudes
>Why do those old mage dudes not even help Stormwind out despite knowing Khadgar is right
>Who the fuck is the demon, why does he ally with the orks, why is he trying to destroy the world
>Why didn't the King just challenge the main orc to single combat, then he could have walked free rather than needlessly sacrificing his life
>Why was the pacing so fucking weird
>What's the deal with the fel shit? They acted like it helped, but Durotan could beat green orcs with ease
>Why did Garona look like a shitty cosplayer, and seemed to fall in love with Lother after about 2 scenes

Positives
-Cool seeing some fantasy locations
-Magic isn't used enough in film
-the demon looked like a cool transformation
-That scene where they use a shield wall to kill a wolf
-The use of guns
-The mass sacrifice stuff was dark as fuck

negatives:
-pacing
-weak dialogue
-Not telling the audience enough info about characters/the world/concepts and expecting to just wave it away so they can show more battle scenes
-Inconsistent strength of orcs
-weak, cliche characters. Khadgar was far and away the best

The film really could have done with an extra 15-20 minutes just slowing down and letting the audience understand characters and concepts a bit more. As a non fan of the game I had no idea where any of the locations where in relation to eachother

well I mean I dont really give a care if you're gonna see it

what bothers me is that the critics are hypocritically giving it low review points because its a video gaem movie with green people

Stop playing the victim. There's obvious fundamental problems with the film, people don't just shit on it because MUH VIDYA GAME

I've yet to see a single review that shits on it SOLELY for being a vidya adaptation.

Most seem to say it's just plain bad and relies on extensive lore knowledge to be watchable.

also
>who the fuck was that old woman in the cube

In the lore Medivh is a child of a powerfull sorceress who defeated the old demon Sageras who had a grudge against Azeroth. The defeat was a feint by Sageras in truth and he put his mind into the sorceress. When she got pregnant with Medivh, the mind of Sageras was taking over the body of the child. When Medivh grew older the demonic mind took over bit by bit. Some years before the events of the movie Sageras plotted the invasion of Azeroth (the second one at this point) and used Gul'Dan an Medivh to connect the worlds via the Dark Portal.

Why this as not explained in the movie I don't know, maybe it is as too much story background for one movie..

Hi im lorefag, my memory is a bit flimsy but ill do my best!

>What the fuck is an actual Guardian
an ancient line of protectors bestowed with great powers to do battle with the agents of the Burning Legion, he basicly fights fell magic and deamons.
>Why/How is he separate from the other mage dudes
Specialised in fighting fell magic
>>Why do those old mage dudes not even help Stormwind out despite knowing Khadgar is right

Mages of Kirin Tor dont give a fuck about humans they have flying city protected by magic where they study it and thats all they care about, they gave humans guardians and in return they expect fresh children for more students and potential future guardians
>Who the fuck is the demon, why does he ally with the orks, why is he trying to destroy the world
Its not a deamon its an ancient Titan Sargeras, leader of the burning legion, evil force of deamons fueled by fell magic, devourers of worlds.

>Why didn't the King just challenge the main orc to single combat, then he could have walked free rather than needlessly sacrificing his life
He doesnt know orc culture

>Why was the pacing so fucking weird.
Director tried to make a ballance to honor fans of franchise and make nonfans intereseted, he failed.

>What's the deal with the fel shit? They acted like it helped, but Durotan could beat green orcs with ease

Fell magic empowerss you, but Durotan is chieftan, orcs respect only strenght chieftan is the strongest orcs of them all.

>Why did Garona look like a shitty cosplayer, and seemed to fall in love with Lother after about 2 scenes

Artificial flick added for the neckbeards to masturbate to and give chick part of audinece something to follow.

medivhs mother probably forgot her name

No thats ALodi, the first and original guardian, he let Khadgar escape so he can be eyes of Kirin Tor outside their comfort zone(Dalaran) he was guiding him and trained him whole his life, i have no idea why did they changed his sex in the movie.

wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Alodi

Is any of this wall of text even touched on in the film?

Unfortunatly no, in the film you think orcs came to Azeroth (because why not LOL) Medivh is corupted by fell for the sake of plot, wizards are there because who cares, Orc world died because of fell that showed up and corrupted Guldan because reasons.

All in all people who recommend you this movie dont care about the lore, they are just delusional fanboys, no real fan of Tolkien will ever recommend you watch Lord of the Rings because they butchered books, as no fan of GRRM will ever recommend you Game of Thrones.

>didnt feel rushed

The first 20-30 minutes felt VERY rushed, after that it settled down though

i dunno about that. the murloc was pretty obvious and the mrgmlmlgrggrlmlm noise was kinda loud too

>best beer per calorie

Start looking into fitness and you'll realise what a hindrance beer is being to you, it's a senseless calorie source

You didn't even pay the slighest bit of attention did you? No imagination at all as well.

>>What the fuck is an actual Guardian

Dunno, seems like it was explained when he was called the Protector of Azeroth and needed to be summoned by the King. Seemed like an important dude.

>>Why/How is he separate from the other mage dudes

Seems like he has his own magic tower and does stuff on his own

>>>Why do those old mage dudes not even help Stormwind out despite knowing Khadgar is right

Don't think they cared. Just like the other people who were in the Throne room. Like the elves and dwarves.

>Who the fuck is the demon, why does he ally with the orks, why is he trying to destroy the world

Cause demons are evil as fuck?

>Why didn't the King just challenge the main orc to single combat, then he could have walked free rather than needlessly sacrificing his life

You want dudebro to kill the giant orc charging at him knocking out several orcs and impaling his soldiers in front of him? That'd go well. He'd die for sure.

>Why was the pacing so fucking weird

40 minutes were cut. Like cutting the Fellowship from 3 hours to 2 hours. Extended edition might not solve everything but I hope it will slow the movie down.

>What's the deal with the fel shit? They acted like it helped, but Durotan could beat green orcs with ease

Green orcs seemed to knock the shit out of the remaining brown orcs. Durotan is a chieftain so obviously he's supposed to be boss character status.

>Why did Garona look like a shitty cosplayer, and seemed to fall in love with Lother after about 2 scenes

Dunno. Just seemed like she cared for him. It didn't really become a full romance did it.

You know plenty of people don't watch "films" they just go to the movies to kill sometime and watch a spectacle. This guy is saying he enjoyed the spectacle of a fantasy land with magic and other worlds and shit. It doesn't have to be a high art limited release of taped together polaroids with subtitles to be enjoyed or even intelligent.

You actually don't have to surround yourself in "intelligent" things at all. Honestly I'd think that people who try especially hard to do so are probably compensating for their mediocrity or even maybe being less than mediocre.

We are all gonna die anyway, let this 14 year old kid enjoy his spectacle. Just because you might not be happy with where you are in life doesn't mean he has to be.

>this doesn't come out for another week were I live
I'm so tempted to torrent but I want to see it on the big screen...

awesome movie
critics need to apologize

>no real fan of Tolkien will ever recommend you watch Lord of the Rings because they butchered books, as no fan of GRRM will ever recommend you Game of Thrones.
The only time I've actually seen a real good faithful adaption is Jojo's bizarre adventure the anime But otherwise I agree with you, normies ruin everything

Jesse Cox liked it. He said that everything in the lore happens but how it happens is slightly different.

>normies ruin everything
without normies, you wouldn't have LoTR or GoT, you faggot.

Did I say I enjoyed the movies or tv series?

>no real fan of Tolkien will ever recommend you watch Lord of the Rings
Tell that to sir Christopher Lee.

user, just because you are that retarded that you cant handle a king not being in a castle and get confused, doesn't mean everyone is.

It was noticable enough for fans to immediately see and hear. But i don't hink normies woud pay it much attention or even give it a first, let alone second thought

>implying i liked any of that shit
Well you're right, actually did like earlier seasons of got. But fuck that show lately

did Luthar and Garona had sex or am i imagining?

they were kissing then scene was cut.

i hope they wont go
>lol fuck you killed my king
>i have a son from you
>WHAAAT

Im gonna give you mindfuck for the lulz, in the lore Garona is pregnant with Medivhs son, Lothar and Garona "romance" is in the show probably for the sake of having pointless flick for chicks and neckbeards to fap on.

>release internationally a fair bit before releasing in the US so the shills can act like they're legitimate word of mouth

if it works humanity truly is lost

>garona is giving birth
>pans to lothar
>freeze frame record scratch
>yep, that's me

Lothar doesn't fucking duel Doomhammer.
Hes cowardly murdered.
