Who is the best director

Well, Sup Forums ? xD

Pick one to defend you

The other seven will try to KILL you

Choose wisely...

Where's Nolan?

Where's David Fincher?

Wes Anderson looks so out of place.

>No lynch
>No Paul Thomas Anderson

jesus, can you make Woody Allen look like more of a child rapist

Cucktino. He can just call his black friends to defend my ass

Out of these, Hitchcock or Spielberg.

Why the fuck is Allen even there? He's shit.

should've been Wes Craven desu

I'm choosing Wes Anderson out of the bunch. Nolantino can suck my ass and Pubrick and Hitchman can lick my taint. The Jews and Wops are a no-go from the start.

Coppola > Spielberg

Why the fuck are Woody Allen and Anderson on this?

>Sup Forums's biggest fan of the film Jack

>Cucktino

Do you really think this is funny?

Kubrick

Kubrick

Salty cuckerino fan detected

I agree it captures his essence beautifully.

I, for one, think it is master league word play.

>via 9gag.com

Also what the fuck is up with Scorsese's face?

No. Making cuck puns out of names is far below Reddit tier faggotry.

Scorsese has the highest number of great films, lowest number of poor films and has been the most consistently strong for the longest period.

Kubrick was exceptional but not really an actor's director.

Hitchcock was a genius but had his fair share of average films.

Tarantino has only made one bad film but he has pulled a lot from other directors stylistically. There's nothing really wrong with this except the fact that some of his best known choices are carbon copies of someone else's work.

Wes Anderson is talented but he's getting a bit same-y in terms of aesthetics and stories.

Allen is a better screenwriter than director. His most artistic films are unashamed rip offs of Bergman or Fellini.

Spielberg is a masterful director yet too often works with schmatlz or just uninspiring projects. He doesn't make anything bad but doesn't push himself in terms of projects chosen.

Coppola was a genius for a decade. I know he broke himself with Apocalypse Now but his 70s were as good as it gets as a filmmaker. If he had retired in the 80s he'd be looked back on in with the same sort of awe that Orson Welles receives.

He just ate a lemon you moron.

>when you are so stupid that you don't know that Scorsese loves lemons.

>when you are so idiotic that you've never read that he oft has a lemon or another citrus in his mouth when filming.

>So fucking dumb that you've never heard that he had scurvy as a boy and ever since feels the most comfortable with the skin of a citrus in his mouth.

Get out of here you plebian, go read a book, and make it his biography, if you can.

Quintrantula never took off.

>not even a strawpoll
faggot

I agree with everything you said.

>Hitchcock was a genius
In edging and wanting to be dominated maybe.

Spielberg is king of the plebs.

Coppola will bounce back and get that reputation later.

Scorcese is also the most diverse of them all. He can go in any genre and he brings in his distincitve style, without compromising the tone of the genre.

Where's Alejandro inaritu?

Where's the wachowski sisters?

Where Michael bay?

Coppola's Twixt was a misunderstood masterpiece. I really thought that was his big comeback, but no...

Thanks senpai

Yeah, that's a good point.

Kubrik to defend me because I think he'd be best suited to murdering people and I wouldn't want him coming after me. I also think he'd be the most likely to resist Spielberg's payoff tactic.

Hitchcock's size and Tarantino's aggression might be difficult to deal with, but I still have confidence that Kubrick could handle them. None of the other directors except for Coppola should be any problem. Allen would probably just stand there and apologize instead of actually trying to kill me.

Where's Snyder?

>people legitimately enjoy the films of wes anderson

Scorsese to defend me. Mafia dude is gonna mafia'd the other's asses.

HE MAKES THE BEST FILMS

HE MAKES THE BEST FILMS

>Coppola will bounce back and get that reputation later.

Not too many directors bounce back after almost 40 years of mediocrity and start making their best work.

I'd love to be proved wrong but I honestly don't think he has another great film in him.

Getting jewed to death in your own hypothetical is a horrible way to go.

He's way more talented than Tarantino though.

>Tarantino's aggression

Tarantino strikes me as a jack russell. All yappy and willing to fight but if push comes to shove he either runs away or gets picked up by the scruff of the neck and has the shit shaken out of him.

That's what happens in most of his movie roles. Maybe he's really like that, or he's a fucking pycho who tries to downplay his aggresive tendencies with a "look at how much of a cucky whimp I am" facade?

He' very overt about being a wuss and liking feet... what if he's actually a necrophiliac serial killer

tarantino will whoop ur ass up and down the street

Man, that bottom row really cements that whoever made that image is a hipster faggot who thinks his taste is better than everyone else's.

Not really. They're about the same. Not yet in the league of the other six, but getting there.

You're basing your judgement on their more recent movies, but Woody/Spielberg were very influencial and their erlier movies changed cinema. Same with Tarantino and Anderson, but to a less important degree.

Sound reasoning, bro. Assign yourself a "pleb" trip so I can know to skip your opinions from here on out, would us?

You become a tripman. I am smart and in fact, you are dumb.

GO BACK TO THE /REDDIT/!
FALL INTO THE NOTHINGNESS THAT AWAITS YOU AND YOUR MASTER!!!

hitchcock obviously. dude knows all the tricks.

kubrick is the best though, obviously. perhaps the only true genius in cinema (much like hero, that word gets thrown around way too loosely.)

Spielberg. He's rich enough to either pay people to give up, or pay others to help build necessary shit. If it comes down to fighting, he has Eagle Scout training to survive in the wilderness and use weapons.

Definitely Kubrick, he'd probably be prepared to do some crazy shit

...

It's from 9gag what do you expect?

Marty

Someone with more time & skills than me should make one of those pictures with roommates and their advantages and downsides but with directors instead

Good. They are both hacks.

Kubrick probably actually murdered someone, so him.

John Carpenter

>No Orsen Welles
>No Billy Wilder

Jesus Christ!

>No Orsen Welles

What did he do? Made one well known movie that is overrated beyond belief?

I'm gonna go full hipster and say Samuel Fuller.

Those are pretty cool.

Kubrick and Hitchcock are in a different league than the rest of them.

That picture screams reddit, it gave me fucking cancer

Kubrick > Hitchcock > Scorsese > Coppola > Spielberg > Tarantino > Woody > West

>9gag

>Rating kubrick above Hitchcock
The sign of a true embryo

>tfw you will never see the directors cut of The Magnificent Ambersons

To be fair, if you put Woody's surname nobody would recognize it. Allen is his first name. It would be like listing a bunch of performers and under the picture of Madonna putting "Ciccone". His last name is Konigsburg.
